According to Raptors writer Calderon was just escorted by the team staff out of the locker room. Done deal obviously :applause: .
They threw him out? Sounds shabby.
I don't see the big deal people are making. IMO Grizzlies are a better team after this trade.
Prince fits into the defensive scheme of the Grizzlies, Gay didn't fit in with Randolph for some reason.
Davis is a great future PF & a nice Speights replacement.
Daye is a good shooter & deserves minutes in this league.
I wouldn't say better but rather different instead. I think they will be just as good record wise but rely more on defense

I assume they were escorting him to a meeting, not kicking him off the property. As sad as that is it would be kinda hilarious though if footage was released.
Looks like a done deal, what a shame...Memphis is such a good team, they just needed to keep adding parts to the team...why trade your best player?
This trade makes them better.
Gasol & Randolph >>>> Gay
Gay is an inefficient chucker. He's got the clutch gene, but he's inefficient & overpaid.
man, Colangelo is terrible
If they move Calderon for Prince and Daye, this is a good deal.
Prince finally leaving Detroit and going to a good team would be long overdue
they will be sorely disappointed in him. Dude is done as a glue guy/defender.

Has he been that poor this year?

Who's gonna shoot the ball at the end of the game, Zbo? Gay being on the floor made the defense spread and left Gasol and Zbo with more space down low. Now with Prince as their starting sf teams don't really have to worry about him on offense, at least not like they did with Gay.

I question if Prince even cares to do well on a good team,he did decide to stay on the Pistons
Gay is having a bad year with his shot and i don't think thats going to change. he has a ton of talent but he's a dumb chucker too often. it seems like he could get much better high% shots but he likes to chuck for some reason. i don't like Gay's game and decision making at all, but i can't deny his talent and athleticism with his length.

How good is Austin Daye?
Starter? Sixth man? All-Star?
Where is he at?
I've always been a fan of Daye, although I'm no expert on him. When I've watched him he looks like a very very versatile wing player who can do a bit of everything offensively.
Daye's awful. he'll never be heard from again.

A disappointment, is what he is.
