i think because some people on here are immature, and view a basketball message board as a place to carve out a social hierarchy rather than a place to actually talk about basketball.

Well I know for a fact you don't have to be incredibly brilliant to be a Rhodes Scholar. One of my best friends in high school was one and I remember having to pick his drunken ass up from out of his own vomit and calm him down when he was freaking out on speed many times. Being a hardcore activist for something helps you out better than pure academic achievement I believe.
