Finals Olympic stats for 92' MJ vs 24' Lebron
.
Olympics
92' Jordan....... 14.9 ppg... 1.3 tov... 4.1 steals... 4 to 1 assist-turnover ratio... 23 MPG
24' Lebron....... 14.2 ppg... 4.0 tov....1.3 steals... 2 to 1 assist-turnover ratio... 24 MPG

^^^ Compared to MJ, Lebron cost his team six possessions per 24 minutes by virtue of getting 3 more turnovers and 3 less steals per game, so MJ drastically outplayed Lebron.... :facepalm
The 92' team also out-assisted their opponents by 239 to 109 for the tournament, while the 24' team might've been out-assisted by opponents or certainly didn't have the massive gap that the 92' team had.. We'll find out soon when the numbers are updated on bballref... The 24' team getting less assists is a direct result of bron-ball (lebron hogging the assists via ball-domination).
Unlike the 24' team and their "down-hill" skillsets, the 92' team played 5-man basketball, which produced superior chemistry and brand of ball that matched their opponents.. Since their brand of ball was equal or better than opponents, their margin of victory matched their massive talent edge - the margin wasn't hindered by inferior brand of ball.
Re: Finals Olympic stats for 92' MJ vs 24' Lebron
Wait, Jordan's TS was 49% against the worst competition of all time?
Meanwhile LeBrons was 71% against elite comp.
Thanks for shedding light on this OP! Jordan sucks
Re: Finals Olympic stats for 92' MJ vs 24' Lebron
OP left out assists and efficiency.

individual assists don't matter and are often a bad thing if they're above 8 or more, aka ball-domination kills ball movement and team assists.. this is bball 101
and Lebron cost his team six possessions per 24 minutes by virtue of getting 3 more turnovers and 3 less steals per game, so low volume shooting efficiency doesn't matter or offset 6 lost possessions

Of course Lebron also didn't "close" - Curry saved him just like Kyrie, Boobie or Ray Allen, while mj was always the closer for every team that he played on.. So there's no comparison.

Jordan 4 rebounds 2 assists on 45% from the floor against the worst international competition of all time.
LeBron 7 rebounds 9 assists on 66% from the floor against toughest international competition of all time.

MJ also lost to college kids despite having the Dream Team as his supporting cast. Business majors and rhodes scholars were too much for MJ :oldlol:

The more light we shine on the 90s, the worst it looks. Every time. Without fail.

Jordan was the only scorer-passer on the team with 15 ppg and 5 apg - so you lied about the numbers
and lebron averaged 4 turnovers per 24 minutes against bums and only 1 steal, while also having a trashy 2-to-1 assist-turnover ratio against bum comp compared to NBA comp

1992 team faced 8 NBA players and Jordan played worst than LeBron did.
1992 was the biggest joke of the olympics in basketball history. Zero competition. Might as well send an NBA team vs a random high school team today and call it competition.
Re: Finals Olympic stats for 92' MJ vs 24' Lebron
2024 Serbia and 2024 France would beat the shit out of 1992 USA mens.
Re: Finals Olympic stats for 92' MJ vs 24' Lebron
This is one of the only stains on Jordans career.
He played so far below the standard in the Olympics. While most everyone was enjoying a massive bump in offensive efficiency, Jordan seen a big decline from their NBA numbers.

not surprised at all.
effing AMATEUR 1984 MJ scored 20 Pts in 3 Quarters of GOLD medal Final and sat out 4th Quarter.
Compare that to LBJs 2024 Finals of 14 pts. PLUS getting humiliated, destroyed, dunked on by French Ben Wallace. :lol
LeBronzeBronze is a joke compared to MJ.

Jordan's off the ball kill game was off the charts and remained that way. 1984 or 1992.
not surprise by LBJ 4 TO per 24 mins. guy has always been garbage.
Meanwhile 1992 MJ made up for Slow, bad back, Bird with 4 SPG.
Jordan did not needed anyone to dominate a team. Neither did Magic. Bird was just too old.
Reason MJ played "game withint a game" to keep himself interested and motivated besides scoring 15 ppg.
