Beal signs 2yr deal with the Clippers
Bradley Beal has officially completed a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and will sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The Clippers were viewed as the likely suitor for Beal's services if he was able to agree to a hefty buyout with Phoenix.
Beal, 32, had a no-trade clause on his previous contract and was set to make over $53 million during the 2025-26 season, which made finding a trade partner extremely unlikely. The three-time NBA All-Star had a whopping $57 million player option for the 2026-27 campaign before he came to terms with a buyout.

Clippers are loaded. Too bad it all comes down to kawai

he gets injured rolling out of bed

Leonard managed to make it through last season on his feet. There's a little cause for optimism.

Loaded on paper. I gave up on them when they signed Harden. No team with Harden will ever win a championship.

If he hadnt had to sit the first part of the year they may not have had to face denver on the road in the 1st round. Only 2 games out of 2nd. Regular season matters especially in the good conference

They aren't beating the Thunder no matter how many games Leonard plays. The only thing I'm pointing out is that they can feel a little better about the fact he was there in the postseason. If they have to sit him for over half the season then that's what it takes. In the unlikely event that adding Beal puts them at the level of the Thunder having Leonard on the floor is far more important than having one less game at home.
Re: Beal signs 2yr deal with the Clippers
If he can be a good fit next to the 2 stars they should be optimistic for next year. Problem is he already didn't look too hot next to 2 stars in Phoenix

The Clippers Era is just getting started

He played well at times, some nights he was the only guy playing well, but it wasnt enough to hold the fort whenever Durant was hurt. And in the playoffs they just didnt have any toughness.
I dont see a Harden-Beal-Kawhi triumvirate threatening any kind of deep playoff run personally. Theyre not better than OKC, Denver, Houston or Lebron. Not that they would be without Beal. I understand the move. No real risk. But he doesnt change enough to make this signing significant IMO.

Is it just me or has it gotten to a point where teams just want 3 guys together and **** if they fit? I feel like there's gotta be a better fit for a guy Iike Beal besides tacking him on as a 3rd perimeter guy.

Lebron made it look easy by fitting with anyone, but for every other team it's not so simple.
In fairness tho the Clippers arent paying Beal a "Big 3" type salary so if it doesnt work theyre not stuck.
In a vacuum adding Beal on the cheap is nice, but is a Harden-Beal backcourt really going anywhere in the West? I dont see it. Would have liked to see him go to Milwaukee perhaps or Detroit, somewhere in the East where adding him might make a real difference for a team in a more wide open conference. I dont believe he changes anything for the Clippers playoff wise. Not in the West. Not playing next to Harden.

Not sure that is the 3. Collins their best pickup. Him and harden pick and roll/pop should be elite

I don't think it's "unlikely". They were as good as Denver in the 2025 Playoffs but the ball didn't bounce in their favor at the end of games and they also match up well against OKC.
Agreed on the 2nd part of course. Kawhi's load is going to be managed until he retires, I seriously doubt he's ever playing 70+ games in the RS again.
