Now that it's official, and you've seen the team logo (front page of insidehoops, or see their official site [URL="http://www.nba.com/thunder"]here[/URL]), what do you think of it?
Look at it for a little while and digest it, before reacting.

I have seen this since Ced posted it, and like I stated about the name this is another epic fail. Oklahoma City Bandits with a man in a black bandanna and hat would have been a much better choice.
The logo looks cheap and doesn't suit an NBA team.

I totally agree. Oklahoma City Bandits, or Oklahoma City Outlaws. Both much better names.

Somebody mentioned this on the other thread that it looks like one of those custom teams you could do for NBA live back in the day

That logo is blown. Looks like a cheap graphic from '94. Absolutely grotesque for an NBA squad. I would be so pissed if I were Durant. I would have a twisted grimace on my face anytime I would have to pull that POS color scheme over my multi-million dollar head.

Atrocious. It seems like that the people putting it together, either did not have much to work with, or they weren't creative at all. A National Basketball Association team should be able to do better than that...

Hmm...the Logo isn't bad...but it isn't good either. With all that time you'd think they come up with a better logo.

Ok, so when you start up your NBA 2k8 on your Xbox, go to create a team.
Then create the name ____________
Find something in their limited suggestions of logos for your team.
Then make the colors and check out the unis.
You end up with a bland jersey with a very small logo on the front.
Still.................

It's official - this is the WORST logo in the league. Heck, it's probably the worst logo of all 4 major American sports put together (NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB).
Someone post a buch of logos so we can compare.

This is a perfect way to describe it. It looks like the people designing it didn't put much time or effort into it and just did it in one night, it is so plain and boring. I've seen so many high school heck grade school jerseys that look better.... truly pathetic.... :ohwell:

i envy the people of okc for being able to watch nba action this season. i do not envy that they have a squirrel of an owner who has again shown his lack of nba savvy--this time with this middle school logo

Not only is it difficult to represent the natural occurrence knows as "thunder" as part of a logo (Which is not even attempted here- since they opted to simply spell out the word.), [I]BUT[/I] the letters OK are identified by people outside of Oklahoma as the expression, "OK," and with the "C" almost being the size of a lower case letter, the OK sticks out too much.
"Thunder" is usually associated with power, and this logo does nothing to make me think of power.
Maybe they should have used "OK City," with Thunder being the smaller word.
Even better, though, would have been a more usable word than Thunder for your team name.
Sticking with the nature theme, perhaps "Tornadoes" would have been better- at least you can see a tornado, and Oklahoma has had some bad ones over the years.
I expect that with time, the logo will change, but this is hardly an inspiring start.

It looks closer to laundry detergent branding to me. Not trying to be picky but just helping. Try some more options OKC. I don't really see the thunder. Play with that some more.
