If you're not sold on Jonas Valanciunas after watching this, you're on CRACK

A couple things....

Jonas plays with a GREAT motor. He's always moving with or without the ball. Notice in the first :20 seconds of the video when he shows on the midget point guard 20 feet from the basket. His stance is low and rock-solid. His long arms allow him to play off smaller players while still being able to play them for the driver or shot.

VERY impressive. He looks ALOT like Jakim Noah on defense. Jonas plays aggressively and loves contact. Is willing to mix it up and protect the basket, as shown in the video.

Valanciunas free throw form at the :53 mark is that of a +80% and that's exactly the case, since he shoots like 90% from the line. This guy will live at the line in the NBA.

And let's all collective :eek: :eek: :eek: @ the 1:53 second mark of this video. Jesus!!! Is that gazelle out there??? Dude is 6'11 running the court like he's 6'6.

Overall the video shows post moves, blocks, and basically elite effort in everything he does. And at just 18 years old, the guy is worthy of the #1 pick.

Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams are still alive, so this guy definitely isn't worthy of the #1 pick, but yea he's pretty good

Watching that makes me want to stay away from him.

Way too stiff, no explosiveness, nice skill level at his age, but don't believe he's strong or quick enough to make multiple dribble post moves in the NBA.

Where did you get the idea that he was moving fluidly? Watching him run makes my knees hurt.

As for his defense, he looks like an old guy with a 3 or 4 inch height advantage on everyone playing a high level pick-up game. Not like Noah, to me anyway.

No offense...but I don't think this guy can be very effective in the NBA. Best case scenario Leon Powe? I mean, you look at Splitter highlights and coming in, people were saying he's a sure thing Scola-clone but with BETTER defense. Look how that turned out and I think Splitter is much much much better than Jonas.

And how many NBA teams would you say, per year, are using or at least referencing your board leading up to the draft?

I just watched Splitter on Youtube and in 10 seconds I could tell the guy is no where near Valanciunas ceiling.

Seems to me like hes skinny and lacks athletic ability, strength, shooting touch, handles, finishing around around the rim, lateral quickness, hand eye coordination, general quickness, post up game, hops, power, any kind of moves, shot blocking, rebounding, blackness.

dude is going to be garbage and so is the duke pg.. Duke players and especially their Pgs are always overrated... I would trade at least one of those picks for a sure thing in the NBA... Mr Gay is a sure thing and maybe you could pick up a solid pt guard with the 4th pick.. Or another big guy that can defend.. Bigs that can defend and rebound are going to help win titles.. Anything else is eye candy..

Except he didn't show that he had any shooting touch from 15+.

All of his defensive 'highlights' were him tipping the ball, the offensive player getting it right back, and laying it in.:oldlol:

And offensively, it was three quick dribbles and a little drop in. All of the guys guarding him were skinny white guys that weren't even trying to push him out of the paint. He would get RAPED on the low post by the guys we have in the nba right now.

That might be the least athletic professional basketball game I've ever seen.

He's the biggest guy on the court and didn't impress me all that much tbh.

He may be a good role-player in 6 years. Not worth it.

Just my thoughts. Not super explosive, but I'm sure he is an elite athlete. Showed some hook shots, but no J?

He runs well for a 7 footers, but not nearly as well as Anthony Randolph. If I wanted an euro big, I think Kanter is a better choice.
