his style of play does not suit what they need IMO
At this point, he isn't a huge risk.
freaking lakers never take any risk in their signings...Tmac/josh roberts/Nate robinson and now Arenas
meh, I don't see what he offers to the Grizz that Mayo doesn't give them already off the bench.
But, its only on a min deal and their are some big characters like Tony Allen in that dressing room who won't let him get out of line and ruin their chemistry.
Best case scenario, I could see him going off for 15-20 off the bench in one big playoff game and frankly, for that reason alone its probably a good pickup.
Pretty harmless signing.
If he's got it, give him minutes. If he still can't do anything, waive his ass.
not mad, love to see what he's got left in the tank

They got Ramon Sessions. You want Arenas over Sessions?
not mad, love to see what he's got left in the tank
Problem is that tank has a hole in it.
Pretty pathetic move...give those bench keys to Mayo. Leave Arenas away from it.
And again, proof that Orlando are stupid. Idiot team.
They got Ramon Sessions. You want Arenas over Sessions?
Are you saying that they had to choose between the two? That's the only way a sentence like that makes sense.
Not much to risk with the signing IMO, a motivated Arenas could defiantly make them deadly. But a Magic Arenas wouldn't change much they'll stay mediocre.
Problem is that tank has a hole in it.
All tanks have holes, if they didn't how would you put the fuel, etc. inside of it?
Low tank knowledge ftl.

Woot. He can teach OJ how to be a boss

Of course they have to pick one, even if you sign both only one of the two is going to get major PT. Sessions is a good young player with potential while Arenas is a washed-up nut that never knew how to play pg anyway.

By gunshot, perhaps?

Picture someone put on twitter today saying they met him. Chris Wallace (Grizzlies GM) is in the background. He looks in shape.

Except Iverson came into a young Memphis team who had no real identity and was demanding to be a starter, which Hollins wasn't having. Arenas knows he's a back up guard off the bench helping a team with a strong inside presence and defensive mentality.
Arenas and Tony Allen gonna play that card game
Really excited to see him on the court again. Have no expectations but really rooting for him. It would make for an amazing comeback.

:oldlol:
Look what happened to AI there...Don't sign Arenas.
Good signing. Gives Memphis an experienced sharp-shooter from the bench.
there was an excellent, heartfelt interview with Gilbert in a magazine fairly recently (can't remember which mag)
anyway he sounded like a really cool guy- just completely misunderstood- and he sounded highly motivated to succeed in the NBA again. I wish him only good things. He is a great guy who got f***** by the spotlight, the media, and a couple irresponsible decisions.

Exactly how are we supposed to properly understand shitting in a teammate's sneakers?

This pic is funny...
like dude and the GM were talking in the park and some kid was like hold up lemme get a pic with you. And he told the guy to wait.
But seriously, I think the Grizz are just trying to sell tickets. They had Iverson, too, remember.

Sign him to a 10 day contract. If he plays anything like he has the past couple of years, let him go.
Gilbert Arenas, OJ Mayo, Toni Allen, Mike Conley, Zach Randolph = Memphis Gangsters

Pretty good read, this is from last month in the period following his Lakers workout. Seems like he's got his s*** together and is ready to play.
AI in Memphis all over again
Anyone think Gilbert would have done well in Minnesota?
Veteran who can set up and wait for a shot... We need that.
Exactly how are we supposed to properly understand shitting in a teammate's sneakers?
yeah.. and all of the other 'pranks':
"He really is the Boy Wonder because you never know what he's going to do next," Chris Mills said. "He can be destructive and kick holes in the wall and then two seconds later is on the bus laughing up a storm. I don't know if it's a split personality or what."..
(..) Mills goes with Arenas' habit of ripping up cards for no reason when the guys are playing on the team plane. Antawn Jamison chooses Arenas' recent prank in Chicago, where he threw all the towels in the shower so that rookies Mike Dunleavy and Jiri Welsch had none to dry off. Then he started a snowball fight on the team bus.
"He's definitely 21 going on 12," Mills said. "His mind hasn't caught up to the number on his birth certificate."

This is a team and coach who have turned Zach Randolph and Tony Allen into model citizens and the faces of the franchise. I'm not worried.

...have you seen the Lakers bench? They cannot get worse.
