Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that All-Star point guard Chris Paul underwent successful surgery this morning to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. The injury occurred last month during Team USA training camp in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
So even with the possibility of worst case scenario 12-16 that's the first month of the season? Or is my math that shitty

... and there's a very good chance for a season ending injury

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
If he did have to miss the start of the season, who do you think would fill the starting pg role? chauncy with crawford at the 2? or start blesdoe and keep billups at the 2?

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
8 weeks isn't that bad, right? That's basically training camp and pre-season. Sucks for the fluency of the team though. Clippers fans expected this off-season and training camp to be greatly beneficial for the team's continuity. Injuries to their two best players put an unfortunate snag in those plans.
Now, 12-16 weeks and that's a whole other ball game :wtf:

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
cant wait to hear cf86 excuses when they underachieve and its blame on injuries and cp3 not being able to have a full training camp:rolleyes:
sucks to hear regardless, sure hell bounce back quick

Billups is out the first month too :(
This is where having Mo Williams would have been handy.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
So why is that Kobe can play with torn ligaments on his hand? I never had an injury like that but that fact that CP3 is gonna be out a while shows how crazy Kobe is...

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
When people said he had his thumb up his ass during the playoffs, I didn't think they meant it literally. Yet, when people in sex shops talk about this act (I presume they talk about these types of things because I am merely speculating) they usually ramble on about the never ending ecstasy of prodding your bottom with the pollex, most commonly used as the international symbol for It's All Good.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
So basically 2-4 months.
Why don't they just say months instead of weeks, I hate when people say a babies age in months instead of years.

some continue this when the kid is 1, 2, or even 3 years old tho

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
Season starts in about 9-10 weeks, am I correct?
So even if he misses a couple weeks, they have Bledsoe.
It'll give Bledsoe some play time and it'd up his worth. More than likely they'll be able to move him for someone else later on.
It's all good.

Clearly I'm reffering to when people will stated that their child is 36 months, or things of that nature.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
when is Billups coming back?
-
Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
Just gld its at seasons start and not end. Gives Bledsoe some nice time to show his skills. Expecting the Clips to add an emergency point guard now. Livingston would be amazing :D

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
minor injury. he could resume basketball drills if he needed to. he played through the torn ligament in london. it didnt hamper him that much. a finger injury doesnt prevent you from doing conditioning drills

Sandra, sweating profusely, not to mention urinating at an alarming rate on the operating table finally squeezes out her baby to a shocked looking Jason. He could never handle the sight of blood, stretching as far back to the night he took Sandra's virginity and proceeded to run home crying, trousers soaked with the stuff and by the time he got home, caked in it. The nurse hands the baby to the mother and Jason finally plucks up the courage to wipe the afterbirth onto the operating table cloth before cradling the babe in his arms.
Six months later and baby Bianca is sporting an elated expression as she wees on the sofa cushions. "Quick, Jase!...", Sandra's bursts out, "...get the wet wipes!". As quick as a flash, Jason bolts down the stairs clutching a pack of baby wipes and proceeds to clean up the mess. "Thank Christ she didn't do that while Bobby was here..." DING. DING DING. Jason and Sandra make their way to the door.
"Welcome, Bobby!", Jason & Sandra greet in unison. "Heeeeeeeeeeey, It's Jason and Sandra! AND BABY PUMPKIN BIANCA!", enthuses Uncle Bobby. "I'm sorry it's taken this long to see you guys, but work etcetera." he sighs. "But, let's make the most of it while I'm here. How old is the adorable bundle of joy now?"
"She's nought point five years old.", declares Jason. "You what?" queries Uncle Bobby. "Nought. Point. Five. Years. Now, come on in, you must be starving not to mention parched, I've got a few ales out back!" said Jason. "You know what, I think I left the light back on in the flat, I'm just going to go back and switch it off quick time." says Bobby. "Bu...but, you live in Dubai", says Jason to much puzzlement. "Yeah, but you have to think about cost nowadays. Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves, A-HAHA!", and just like that, Bobby walked back towards his Audi R8 and reversed out of the drive.

Bledsoe as a starting point guard is not good news by any means.
They'll need to sign a temporary point if it's true his absence will seep into November & December.
-
Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
8 weeks means he will be ready well before the season starts. I'm okay with him taking his time so the rest of the world can see just how good Bledsoe is.
-
Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
Do people know how to read? He already had the surgery and it's 8 weeks tops sounds like. Season starts in about 10. Not sure why in God's name people are saying November or December :facepalm . It's a thumb injury... meaning he can still stay in shape with cardio and all other basketball related activities besides full contact games. He can still gel with his new teammates and participate in training camp.
As I said... worst case scenario is he misses the first week of the season and Bledsoe gets to show his star potential and I'm happy with that but I'm positive CP3 will be ready.

36 months, that's weak sauce. I always tell age by days.
I'm 11,247 days old!

Man that makes me so happy.
"Just work out with C.Billups for the 1st time since his injury. Was moving real well and shot the ball lights out. Pass the eye test for me"
Jared Dudley
If Chauncey already looks that great and isn't even 100 percent people are about to be eating crow for saying he's done and downplaying how good he can be for another couple years. He claims he's in the best shape of his life cardio/strength wise. He looked RIPPED when I saw a video last month.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
People like to exaggerate all Clippers injuries though. CP3 will be back before season even starts, Billups will be back probably 3 weeks after the season starts. Clippers will be 100 percent by the start of December most likely.

The Heat vs Clippers preseason games is gonna be less entertaining without CP3, Billups and Blake.

:( didn't even think of that! Clippers vs Nuggets is also going to be the first NBA preseason on the Vegas strip ever and the players will be out. Oh well.. Bledsoe+Odom+Crawford+DJ should still put on a show.

In Kobe's case the ligament had already torn off, so there was no more damage to be done, just pain to deal with. He was basically told he could fix it now and miss important games or just leave it like that forever. Or if you listen to the haters it was a light sprain and he was playing it up.

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery

Because it's a more precise measurement of time.
And with babies, there's a lot of development that goes on within the first 2 years, so doctors and parents like to keep track of with more precise age markers like months instead of years. It's like when a woman is pregnant, doctors will measure it in weeks and not months since it's easier to track the development when you're more precise.

Lucky he doesn't have the Portland trainers or he'd die in 2 weeks

Re: Chris Paul out 8 weeks after Thumb Surgery
No big deal. He's fine and will just recuperate during this off season and be ready for training camp just like everyone else. Nothing serious. Carry on.
