What Jewish People Dont Understand....

Is that this is not a Jews vs Muslims situation. This latest conflict between Israel and Palestine is a political issue, not a religious one. We are not talking about the religious roots of this conflict from way back, we are talking about the fighting right now, which is apparently retaliation for Hamas attacking Israel. This is warfare with, at this particular moment, has more political reasons behind it from both sides.

Why is it some Jewish people cannot differentiate between the two? A lot of them support Israels actions simply because they share a religion. In fact, a lot of them go crazy, scream racism and shut you down if you even dare to claim Israel are in the wrong. You see how Dwights team mate reacted, you see how angry a lot of Israel sympathizers get if you oppose their argument. They call you stupid, they call you uneducated, they do pretty much everything except actually win the argument.

I do not respect those Jewish people. How can I? [B]THESE[/B] are the Jews I respect.

These are men that clearly cannot stand by and say nothing just because the aggressors share their religion. I hope this shows some of you that just because your Jewish it doesnt mean you have to support Israels actions. Its commendable to make up your own mind and break free from the hive. Supporting the death of thousands of civilians make you no different from Hamas supporters. Killing kids makes Israel no different from Hamas. In fact, they are [B]WORSE[/B] because they have the means to kill way more people than Hamas, and have shown no restraint in doing so.

I cannot verify the source of the images, since I used google images. But I know Jews here in London that strongly believe Israel should exist where it currently exists, but also strongly oppose what is being done to Palestine. As far as their point of Israel owning that spot, I am not here to argue that. That is a story for another day. Right now I and many others are against the killing that is going on [B]TODAY[/B].

It just seems like lose-lose for Israel (Israel has to sit there and have daily rockets fired into their cities and not do anything, or react), and of course a loss for regular everyday innocent Arabs/Palestinians.

But if you look at the big picture, the common problem in that entire region seems to be the ultra-religious jihadist fundamentalist groups. They are the problem vs Israel, but also in Syria, and also in Libya, and also in Iraq, and also in Yemen, and Pakistan, and a ton of other places across that part of Earth. Making things miserable for other Arabs and other Muslims. Not just in the 1% of the Middle East that is Israel.

While a jihadist group like Hamas keeps messing with Israel, jihadist groups like ISIS/ISIL/etc. are destroying the lives of innocent Arabs/Muslims elsewhere.

I blame the crazy lunatic jihadist groups far more than anybody else around there.

Like I said they have gone way overboard and I can only hope this reaches a peaceful solution. Would it be fair if a person in Iraq who had they family killed by the US Army came and killed you? A lot of innocent people are getting murdered daily and it just makes me sad when some people dont even acknowledge it.

If Israel were killing Hamas militants with minimal civilian casualties, then that would be fine. However, killing over twice as many civilians as militants is unacceptable given Hamas is not a viable threat to destroy Israel (or even create moderate levels of destruction).

Okay I'm going to admit to some ignorance on Israel Palestinian conflict. So to the posters with more knowledge, how viable is a two state solution?? I would think Palestine being a third world nation still reliant on Israel would lead to further conflicts and not peace. So would a Belgium type solution be a better fit??? Israel already has an Arab Israeli population and settlements could continue in the West Bank.

Well, Hamas may not be able to literally wipe Israel out, but they did:

1) Totally terrorize Israel and kill thousands of Israelis by blowing up buses, restaurants, etc. for years in a row, just 9 years ago or so. Relatively recent. Not ancient history. All thru the early 2000's.

2) Fire thousands of rockets into Israel that only don't kill people because of Israeli warning systems that cause millions of Israelis to keep running and hiding in bomb shelters every 30-60 minutes for weeks in a row now, and almost once a day or whatever for years in a row

Not defending civilian casualties, don't know enough about that stuff as far as what the usual is, and it's a sad thing

This is the general outline:

Israel in a two-state solution want to keep East Jerusalem, and maybe 5% of the West Bank in an area that's right near Israel, and give control of the rest to Palestinians for a state.

The Palestinian Authority want a Palestinian state that has East Jerusalem, AND they demand that millions of Palestinians have the option to move into Israel, which is basically for the purpose of making Israel another Arab country and erasing it as a Jewish state, which basically erases Israel.

And Hamas primarily just want to blow Israel up, now and forever, no matter how much of an insane losing battle that is, even if just screws everything up for both sides

Side note: In the most recent Palestinian elections, something like 6 years ago or so, Hamas actually got more votes than the Palestinian Authority

That's not the deal that is on the table that both sides have showed interest in agreeing to.

The real deal is....

A) East Jerusalem remains in the Palestinian state
B) Israel gets a small potion of the West bank
C) A road connecting Gaza and the West Bank

The people who criticize Israel for their handling of Gaza are the people who need to come up with a different solution. The rocket attacks on Israel need to stop and the constant threat of terrorism that Gaza poses to Israel needs go away.

What is the solution? The solution can't be "stop the blockade". Been there done that. The blockade was a response to the violence, now the violence has to stop and the blockade will be lifted.
It can't be "stop building settlements in the West Bank" (although they do need to stop), the West Bank has nothing to do with Gaza at this time.

So how do we get Gaza to stop posing such a security threat to Israel? Let's hear it.

How about they make more of an effort to stop killing civilians? They arent under any serious threat from Hamas and their rockets. Can you tell me how many people the rockets have killed?

They could easily find the terrorists in a way that minimizes the damage to civilians but they dont seem to be interested in that. How the hell do you even get over a 2:1 ratio of civilians/terrorists killed?

EDIT: There were a bunch of kids playing football killed on a beach last week. Were Hamas hiding on a beach too?
