I'd go with Arnold.
The Italian Stallion
the correct answer is Stallone.
the Rocky and Rambo series alone make him immortal.
in contrast to the big homie Arnie, Stallone actually can act.
Over the Top, Demolition Man, Tango and Cash and Cliffhanger are just some other classics.
Terminator is the only thing big Arnold has. and playing a robot is all he can do convincingly.

Arnold.
What we see today are emasculated heroes and if you think today is bad Stallone was the original.
Action heroes don't need to act. They just have to have "the look" and the alpha in them. I know it is an overused term but it's true. Did any of the other actors who played James Bond, had to be good at acting?
How you gonna leave out Conan The Barbarian, Predator, Total Recall, True Lies?
Don't forget Jingle All the Way, Kindergarten Cop, The Running Man, Commando. Don talking stupid.

Arnold. It's not really debatable.

:facepalm
lol @ Stallone and acting.
He's a great writer but not a great actor.
The most underrated Arnold flick of all time and I have it in the top 5 and Stallone got the influence for Expendables from this flick. This was OG.

Arnie still has Predator, Commando, Total Recall and True Lies. All of those are better than Over the Top, Demolition Man, Tango and Cash and Cliffhanger. You also forgot Copland. Which is one of Sly's best movies. Nighthawks is solid also.
Sly is the better actor. His acting in Rocky, Rocky Balboa and Copland are better acting jobs than what Arnie has given. Arnie has never had a decent "performance".
Those stupid puns and one liners can only be achieved by Arnold and he makes it look so easy and good. It's not cheesy with Arnold therefore he's not really acting. Stallone can act but Arnold is the better star. He doesn't have to try as hard as Stallone.

I have a soft spot for Over the Top also. But I wouldn't call it a really good movie or anything.
I find it funny how different these two actually are, considering they are both seen just as archetypal action superstars.
Sly has always tried create something more than just action flicks. People forget that Rocky got 10 AA nominations and was basically born solely out of his brain. There are more deeper themes in the first 10 minutes of Rambo than in the entirety of Arnold's career. With Sly you get action flicks, movies somewhere in the middle and even straight up "attempts" at Oscars like Cop Land.
Arnold on the other hand did not really give a shit about what kind of movies he did, quality-wise. In his biography he says he did choose carefulyl between the scripts, but he really mainly cared about becoming the biggest star in Hollywood. And if it was going to happen through bad puns said in thick Austrian accent, then so be it. He also always had a shitton of side activities, from bodybuilding to estate market and politics.
Arnold has the best resume of any actor
So it's him
But that's no slight to stallone who also has some really tight movies
:lol
You're worthless scum
That's asinine.
Arnold can pull off action and comedy. Stallone can pull off action and drama (I recommend Copland for those who didn't see it). However, Arnold's action movies are superior IMO, and really that is what we want to know when comparing these two. Also, a bad Arnold movie is still more entertaining than a bad Stallone movie.
Yeah all those amazing movies Arnie is in sure do suck
Should've said artistic ambition-wise instead of quality-wise. They are not shit:lol
Kindergarten Cop and Jingle all the Way are actually my two favorite Arnold movies. True Lies, too.
Tango and Cash is my favorite Sly movie.

Arnold - he had a longer peak. Stallone's last good year was 1985, when he had Rocky 4 and Rambo 2. The following year, he had Cobra, and his career never really recovered from that.
Meanwhile Arnold continued to have solid movies well into the 90's (True Lies probably being his last great one).
Although admittedly Stallone gets a career bump for his recent resurgence, with the new Rockys, Rambos, and Expendables'.
Could Rambo have survived in "Predator"?

Rambo would be too busy crying.
Stallone has insane versatility as an actor, he played a boxer, and Rambo.

precisely
No mention of Arnold and Davito in Twins? I thought it was pretty good.
Arnold was definitely better at comedy. He had no problem making laughing at himself.
Hard to choose between them.

Heck yea, loved that movie.
Stallone is OK, I might say overall he's probably better than Arnold because he's written and directed as well, but if you're asking just in terms of the quality of movies they've starred in then it's easily Arnold.
Stallone's most underrated movie is Cop Land. He's terrific in that film.
Eraser is another one that I enjoyed. T3 also gets too much hate even though it's far worse than the first two. Not great movies.... But both had many duds late in their careers.
Daylight.... The 6th Day... Get Carter... The End of Days... ugh. Terrible shit. Not even guilty pleasure stuff.
Arnold, not even close
Arnold's the better action star but Stallone is a much more versatile actor. Dude's actually pretty good at dramatic roles

As mentioned before, Stallone can do action and drama, Arnold can do action and comedy.
Stallone does have more versatility overall though, especially when you include writing and directing (still can't believe he directed Staying Alive).
Arnold can do drama too. He played governor.
Overall I enjoyed Arnold's movies more (predator is probably one of my 10 favorite films ever). The better actor might be Stallone, but that isn't saying a whole lot.. :lol
Stallone had more better movies, but Arnold had the BEST movie, Predator! Seen that shit so many damn times.
