What do you guys think about the Mason plumlee trade?
I'm not the biggest fan of it yet.

I'm kinda neutral on the trade. I know Plumlee is young but I feel like we've already seen his best and I'm not sure he can do it consistently. This RHJ kid is said to have elite defensive potential. We do need a wing defender badly.
I mean I totally agree with that. But they gave up Plumlee and another player for Blake(only for salary reasons) the 23rd pick. I just think the nets could have done it without giving up the other pick
Well you know Billy King. If we had any future 1st round picks left, it would have probably been included too! :lol
Haha yeah too true
Apparently the nets discussed joe Johnson to Memphis. Idk what they would trade. Johnson makes almost 25 million

if only he could have improved his jump-shooting and traditional center game, he would be almost a dream player. but at age 25, you have to wonder if that's ever going to happen. it's a shame tho... great guy otherwise.
at least with RHJ being age 20, he has time and youth to get his jumper straightened out. i hope the coaching staff makes that a major priority, because it sounds like he's dreadful in that area. but overall, i love players like him... ferocious wing defenders who can do everything. so important to have at least one or two on a successful squad.
^ yeah. We all know Lionel Hollins loves a player like that. If he liked Markel Brown I'm assuming he'll LOVE Hollis-Jefferson based off of what I've heard.
I thought Nets trade was good (since trading Plums was almost necessary with how much he regressed). You got the better rookie in the deal by far, McCollough is a workout warrior, his "incredible athleticism" was on display in his workouts only but never during the season. That never fails to dissapoint.

what do you think about that late-pick euro PG the nets gave up? (is that the dude you... er someone... meant?)

I'm not sure as he wasn't a euro, but whatever...i don't want to confuse everyone further! :lol
Lopez 3 years $60 and Young 4 $48 people are saying..

yeah they are finalizing! I like both deals. Nets need all the talent they can get with those two awful contracts in Deron and Joe taking all the space to go after anyone else.. Plus no draft picks. Let's give the Celtics the worst pick we can possibly give them

As long as the Nets don't trade JJ for savings (taking back flotsam) i can't see how you complain too much about offseason.
AA going to Wiz i think...

I would love to have Anderson back but would also love to see him contend hope he winds up on the Spurs.
Nets just signed Shane Larkin with a little of their mmle.
Nets have Williams-Jack-Blake-Larkin.
One of the three (not including Larkin) are most likely gonna go.
Jack probably since Williams would be hard to move.

Net Income from Nets Daily implied something is going to happen this weekend that will make this signing make sense. Please be Jack and not D-Will.

ian eagle was hinting that... incredibly... deron, and not joe, was most likely to go... amidst the flow... like all front row... sure as my name is joe bleau.
(sorry, got mildly carried away there)
anyway, yeah... sounds like something relatively miraculous is in the works. maybe our overall strength at PG / wing goes down a bit, but overall is for best, tavarisch... nyet?

Where did Ian Eagle say anything? Just curious.
Idk I'd rather keep Jarrett Jack but that's just me.
Nets have 15 players as of now on the roster assuming they sign Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Brought in some more youth with Thomas Robinson and Shane Larkin

the same place you have a grudge against, but even niko hangs on their every article and word. :D
I just don't want to give up a lottery pick next year. And I feel like there will have a higher chance of that happening if we trade D-Will.
Unless of course we get a young PG back. Say.... Ty Lawson??
Pls.

Lol well played.
Maybe I'll hit it back up again. It's been a while though lol.

Me neither! Difference between this year and last year is that Hollins knows how to utilize Brook Lopez now. They'll hopefully be more competitive to start the season compared to last season.
I'd be cool with even Darren Collison from the Kings.
So Alan Anderson signed with the Wizards today. He got 1 year 4mill.. Pretty solid money for him. Gonna miss him.

Ian Eagle was on WFAN, he comes on once every two weeks or so.
:oldlol: :D :pimp:
Emojis in honor of today. If only Deron reneged 3 years ago...
That was some crazy stuff that happened yesterday. What Deandre Jordan pulled reminded me a lot of Dwightmare when Dwight signed the ETO.

That was just as horrible. I know exactly how those mans fans feel. Actually they probably feel worse. It's a shame he had second thoughts.
Has anything even happened this off season? haven't kept track.

You missed a lot dude lol. Here's a good page that tells you everything.

A couple big signings
Bucks sign Greg Monroe
Spurs sign LaMarcus Aldridge
Clippers sign Paul Pierce
Mavs sign Wes Mathews
Suns sign Tyson Chandler
Knicks sign Robin Lopez, Aaron Afflalo, Derrick Williams
Pacers sign Monta Ellis
Lakers trade for Roy Hibbert, Sign Brandon Bass
76ers drafted Okafor
Okay now that Deron is gone, what can the Nets do now? It seems that we are still over the cap, Id definitely love to have Lawson or Collison replace Deron but its gonna be hard to do anything with the current way it stands. Or even worse, for a 2nd round pick is better nothing. Oh my, Deron really is a tool, I hope he just leaves without taking any money from us. He was the one who asked to go, and if hes so desperate why not just leave all the money on the table?
:facepalm
Nets will have a cap hold of $6M I believe after Deron's buyout until 2020. That hurts your chances more of getting a top FA next year(s).
I'm not a fan of this either because we will have to pay him $5 mill a year for 5 years. But I guess it was really and impossible contract to trade.
Now what's our point guard situation? I don't think I can watch 82 games of Jack playing 34+ mins.

the netsdaily article said that after the buyout and stretch happens, the nets will actually have a lot of cap room next year. #1 joe johnson coming off the books. #2 the league cap expansion, i guess.
that being said, i'm not sure the nets want to be taking on any more big contracts for a while.
one other thing about the buyout-- i still hate the way these contracts are guaranteed money. deron is the one who's underperformed, and now he wants to play for the mavs? no problem! the nets merely pay him 3/4 of his remaining salary or something like that. :facepalm
btw, war mcgregor!
Yeah this is ridiculous. If you want to go, you can go. But dont take the money, why are we supposed to pay him for the next 5 years? He doesnt deserve anything, he should just leave all the money on the table if he wants to play for the Mavs. Even if Billy Kings wants to pay him, why over the next 5 years with $6M cap hold? Cant we just pay off the $30M promptly and its over?
Well whatever, Billy King is a bad GM and we know that from a long time ago. Maybe we really should've hired Kidd as GM back in 2014, he will be much better than Billy King, and we can look for a better coach than Kidd too.
:banghead:
btw just a random post, here.
i might have to watch more postgames in future...

But if kidd had traded for Sanders. The nets would probably be in the same position they are in now. Just with Mason at center an no one else.
So uhh..... Andrea Bargnani .......
Hollins won't put up with his lack of bball iq or rebounding...or defense. It'll be interesting to see how Hollins uses him.
i figure he has a bright future on our disabled list.

He was mainly brought to fill Mirza's spot and is about $4 mill cheaper that what the Suns paid him. I'm not a fan of his either but for the vets minimum, I think it's a decent signing.
