I think it's bc of how heavily the media pushed its favoritism onto Kobe.

Compared to #12, Duncan does get under rated in the mainstream. But most savvy fans already know he belongs comfortably ahead of Kobe, but behind Lebron.

All of them - he did what was necessary to win in 5 of the 6. And in 2013, he had an outstanding Finals (particularly for his age) - unfortunately Pop decided to not play the player with the most playoff defensive rebounds ever - if Duncan were on the floor, I'd bet he'd have gotten that rebound instead of Bosh.

No disrespect to who I still consider the greatest PF of all time, but 2005 is decent to the standard of an all time great. All else is pretty mediocre.

In all fairness, Duncan is kinda overrated here. There's a huge thread claiming he's better than Kareem. People have said he's in the top 5 all time.

2013 and 2014 - well, obviously, he's 37 and 38 years old. Although, he played particularly well in 2013 Finals for his age - imo, he would have gotten another FMVP had they won game 6. And in 2014, those last 3 games - the team was spectacular.

2007 - Spurs were going to win regardless - they were just a better team and too experienced to lose - even (imo) if they didn't have Parker. Once Lebron was controlled on the perimeter by Bowen and in the paint/at the rim by Duncan, it was a foregone conclusion. Besides the REAL Finals was vs the Suns where he averaged 27.4 pts 13.8 rebs 3.2 asst 1.8 blk on 52.7%FG.

2005 was fine. The Spurs were playing against one of the best defensive teams ever - a defending champion which, but for a last second shot by Kobe, almost swept the Lakers the year before - better, if you ask me for playing a whole more year together in addition to getting McDyess. The important thing is that they won, and Duncan came through big time in game 7. And just in case, others question his 42%FG in game 7:
