I think Lillard is better than Irving. They are both amazing shot makers but I consider Lillard a better playmaker and a better defender. Do you all agree?

Lillard led a team that was supposed to be a bottom feeder to the playoffs...I'll go with him. As I've said before...Kyrie isn't even a top 5 pg in the league.

Millard just took a team, that had no business of even being in the PO's, to the 2nd round in the WC.
Lets not forget that series winning buzzer beater against the Rockets in '14 as well. In his 2nd season.
Lillard for now. If the Finals are any indication though, Kyrie might make huge strides next season. TBF, playing with LeBron makes things infinitely easier for him.

This. Lillard took a s.hit team to the second round. I would rather have him as the #1 guy. But Irving as a 2nd option with LeBron is a problem for the league.
Always thought Lillard was overrated. Strikes me much like a Bosh or Aldridge type in that he is the man on an average team, but anywhere else he'd be a 2nd or 3rd option.
Kyrie is the far more dynamic and natural basketball talent for me.

Does Irving take that Portland team to second round? I like Irving, but the one thing he hasn't proven yet is taking a team to the playoffs as the man. The Blazers had Lillard, McCollum and a whole bunch of garbage on that team.

I don't think Love was that much good defensively . I always liked the tracking defence but not seems realistic this time .

Games 5, 6, and 7, he was really good defensively. That's what probably lowered his DFG% quite a bit. Also, players helping out Love probably helped his DFG%. Kyrie really wasn't all that good in the Finals though. I'll admit that I missed the first two games, but in games 3-7, he was either mediocre or just bad. I'm not saying Lillard is an elite defender, but he's better than Kyrie for sure.

%56 Dfg is really bad . But on the other side ; He had 109 Drtg ( Lilliard had 120 ) , 2.1 steals and 0.7 blocks a game ( Lilliard had 1.6 and 0.2 ) .

Easily Kyrie.
When Lillard's long ball isn't falling, he's not much use elsewhere. Neither are very good defenders or distributors. Even though in stretches and when focused Irving has shown to be decent defensively.
As small scoring, shoot first guards, I take Uncle Drew's versatility. He's better at getting to the basket and finishing. Mid range etc.
Anyone hyping up where Lillard got Portland to is delusional. Almost all of that hinged on unexpected all star caliber play from his back court mate, earlier than expected in his career.

He took them to the 2nd round because Chris Paul and Blake Griffin both got injured. Otherwise, it wouldn't have happened.

Those factor in team defense as well. Lillard was on one of the worst defensive teams in the league and Cavs played some of the best defense I've seen in recent years (in the PO's).
Lillard's DRtg is 113, BTW. Kyrie's is 107 (for the entire PO's).

They were 20th in the league defensively. Considering the fact that PG's don't really impart DRtg rating much, the blame should be put on the interior defenders, right?

When a 73 win team gets taken to 7 games by a mid 50 win team and loses. After just being taken to 7 games the series previously.
And when a 67 win team gets knocked out in the 2nd round by a mid 50 win team ... that's a weak league and even weaker conference to amass so many bottom feeding victories that alter the true perception of quality.

They were 20th cause poor perimeter defence . Both Lilliard and CJ reason of that , not froncourt . Aminu is one of the best defender in the league . Plumlee,Ed Davis and Harkless are solid defenders .

I don't remember but maybe he was guarding Harrison Barnes in the last 3 games. And it's well documented how turrrrrible Barnes was :oldlol:
As for the OP question, I think they are a wash. Both are exciting as hell when on, I think Lillard had a 50+ game this year and last year it was Kyrie against the Spurs. Both against really good teams. Can't go wrong with either. I think Lillard is further along because he's a lot older. I think he went to college a full 4 years? And Kyrie only 1, so that's that. I think Kyrie could do similar things if he had his own team with proper role players, not Dion Waiters :oldlol:
This is an interesting question. I say Kyrie is definitely better than Dame and he always was. It's really great that Portland made the playoffs and dame had a great year offensively, but it's not quite what people make it out to be. First of all, CJ MCollum is far better than anyone Kyrie played with before lebron came back, and kyrie was 19-21 years old on a tanking team.
with that in mind, there's nothing to definitive saying that Dame is definitely more capable of carrying a bad team, because his team has never actually been bad, not even last year. So for me, it comes down to maximum impact and offensive ceiling. The truth is, Dame isn't in the same class as Curry, Westbrook or CP3. Every single time he goes to the playoffs, Dame gets outplayed by a point guard that is actually elite. Tony Parker, Mike Conley ... CP3 this year if he didn't get injured (CP3 was already getting him) and we all know Dame's defense isn't going to stifle curry. Dame just isn't truly an elite offensive Dynamo. He's athletic, but his first step and change of direction ability and body control isn't nearly as good as irving's, so he can't create space in the midrange or finish around defenders as well. Dame's midrange game is also pedestrian, as is his finishing ability, so when Dame's long ball isn't falling, he is usually going to be in for a long night. Dame I think barely shoots 40% in the playoffs for his career. He shot 38% this year, and I don't think that's an anomaly; chucking threes is really his best option. Kyrie can get to whatever spot he wants to against literally any defense in the league, and he shoots 50% from the midrange and like 38-41% on the long ball and 60% at the rim. Kyrie can get wherever he wants to get and he can score really well from everywhere on the court. Dame can't, and for someone who's not a super-playmaker or defender, that's damning in his case against kyrie.
Also, for people arguing that kyrie can't be the man on his team; well neither can Dame, if you look at it in a strict sense. Really, only LeBron can take a mediocre team far by himself. Both kyrie and dame could slip into the Spurs or warriors and be very successful.
