You don't get to talk shit after the fact, idiot.
*hmm let me wait on the sidelines and see how this pans out before I join in on laughing at one side or the other*
Absolute scum IQ.
I didn't understand the premature call on Endgame, or the assessment that the early hype was lacking either. :confusedshrug:
I really dont get what you saw to conclude it wouldnt be massive. How could it not be?
Whats the smallest sequel to a billion+ a movie franchise ever? Do movies on this scale ever even close to bomb?
The closest you get are when the Transformers movies fell off. And they fell off to like 600 million.
There was no chance in hell this wasnt gonna be a waaaaaaaaay over a billion movie. Who saw the first and didnt feel a need to see the second?
This movie would have done over a billion without advertising. They could have dropped it in secret at midnight on a tuesday like a Beyonce album and creeped to a billion on word of mouth and internet hype alone.
The egos involved were a lot less, Ant Man somewhat got exposed for wearing a suit, but also one which isn't invented by him
And Captain America turns into Star-Lord
It's gonna pass Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time
is there anyone who'd argue otherwise? of course it'll break records. :oldlol:
It's gonna pass Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time
Avatar has the advantage of most showings being in more expensive 3-D. It
Please don't post spoilers. My wife is pregnant so I have to wait until she feels good enough for us to see this movie, so that I can then talk shit to this idiot.
Get off the internet immediately. Too many spoilers to dodge them all. I had parts if it spoiled in a Facebook comment section about the nfl draft so I went to the midnight showing that night with friends to avoid any more.
Someone is gonna spoil it in a game of thrones discussion or something.

Thank you for the warning, but by "spoilers" I was actually referring to the box office count and an argument I had with a certain poster that will remain Shogon,

Your obsession with me is disturbing.
And on top of that, if you meant box office count, what does your wife being pregnant have to do with anything? You’re dumb. Always have been, always will be.
And you’re obsessed with me. So obsessed. Did I mention it?
Good try, good effort.
You're dumb.
Great, now we are going to have to suffer more dumb ass super hero movies. The general public is fukking stupid. These are the same people who think GoT is actual quality, so it's not surprising they eat this shit up, too.
How exactly do you

This. A puzzling prediction all around.
How exactly do you “suffer” a movie you don’t see?

I could never understand people who hate superheroe movies and shit on those who like them. don’t like it? Don’t watch it
There’s plenty of other movies out there
I mean I'm just going to say it
What Marvel/Disney Studios has done in these past 11 years is the greatest accomplishment in cinematic history. We have seen a story line that has lasted 11 years and brought us all kinds of emotions and entertainment.

:lol Not a single one of the 20+ movies are anywhere near the best movies of either decade.
It's an awesome accomplishment what they did.. but they basically did a basic Hollywood action flick and connected the worlds.
Because studios just choose to rehash this dumb ass shit instead of making something original.
Marvel Studios, under Disney, makes movies about superhero properties they own. That does not preclude other studios and production companies from making movies that they deem original and engaging.
What's your favorite movie over the last 5 years?

I know that was for Smoke but... favorite? John Wick, it's not close.

The 1st part I definitely disagree with but otherwise even if you think about all the money they made, which if you believe it or not is the ultimate goal of 99% of movies (especially most likely all your favorite movies), then their accomplishment is the greatest. They have made the most money and entertained the most fans for 11 years. What can be a greater accomplishment? They are the reason this is the best time to be alive.

Wrong.
MCU experience really pales in comparison to the experience of those older guys having watched every star wars movie ever in the theatres. What a time for them.
11 years? Is that all? Star Wars has been going on for 40+ years. I never saw the first 3 movies in the theatres but some on here have. This is just another case of someone thinking they saw some shit that was trumped by someone else having a better experience.

The Star Wars prequels and sequels suck

These are 20-30....sometimes 50 year old stories turned into movies and you have never seen anything like them. Thats just a fact. The technology wasnt there to do it till they did it.
All of them have been original stories told for the first time on screen other than the Hulk origin from 2008.
Being the same genre doesnt make them rehashed stories.
The new lion king. Aladdin. Rehashed stories.
Guardians of the Galaxy was nothing like any major film ever made before it unless the similarity is just being funny and set in space. Nothing like Dr.Strange was possible till at best the late 90s and all the attempts to be similar were shitty tv movie quality.
Merely being comic book adaptions doesnt make them repeated stories any more than the run of mafia movies or westerns in their prime.
Hell less so. As I said...these movies were impossible even 25 years ago.
A comic book movie is way more likely to be something new than a coming of age drama, horror film, or murder mystery.
Those stories have much more existing work to steal from and be influenced by. This is making films from old interconnected short stories.
These films have flat out been better than most "original" shit that comes out.
Most attempts to start this kinda big franchise fails. Theres a reason this world worked and the Airbender, and John Whatever guy on Mars, and that shit they put Idris Elba into as some kinda future gunslinger and King Arthur with Charlie Hunnam and the Dark Universe that was supposed to be the Mummy and Invisible man and all that shit and a hundred other attempted universes didnt pan out.
These movies are good. Those movies tend to suck.
If they got money just off being comic book movies with Marvel characters the fantastic four movie wouldnt have lost 100 million.
Thor - "I like this one" stares at Captain Marvel
Captain America squinting at both "Let's go get this son of a bitch"

I'm not a Star Wars fan or expert but is this the same Star War universe that has been going on for 40 years? Have they been making films continuously for these past 40 years within that same universe like every year or at least every few years? The recent films aren't remakes or reboots?
If the answer to any of the above questions is NO...then your comparison is terrible.
