Boxing
...because I couldn't find the old one :confusedshrug:
Devin Haney fought last night and did what he was supposed to do in an absolute show. He's posturing for Loma and I really hope it doesn't happen. Prefer to see him step up to 140 if he can't find any competition at 135. I don't think he can beat Loma right now.
Canelo moving up to face Kovalev  https://twitter.com/danrafaelespn/status/1172570160281993216
160 champ @Canelo moving up 2 divisions to challenge @KrusherKovalev for his 175 title in Nov. 2 mega fight. My story w/ details on how it came together: https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/27607491/canelo-climbing-2-weight-classes-fight-kovalev

Re: Boxing thread
not the best fighter but cinnamon has nuts the size of bowling balls :applause:
-
Re: Boxing thread
Is boxing still rigging it for Canelo?
-
Re: Boxing thread
That's too much of a weight difference for Canelo, not smart at all. It's definitely entertaining tho, unlike Floyd who only secured easy fights so he could rack up W's. Canelo at least has shown he'll fight anyone and will change weight dramatically to do so...balls of steel.

Re: Boxing thread
Kovalev is gonna be a dangerous fighter. He has to know his back is against the wall wih stoppage/ko being his only path to victory or he hasn't paid any attention to this man's career. Judges aren't getting in the way of that 4 division legacy.

Why is Fury so shook to fight Wilder :oldlol:

Imagine knowing you can beat someone, but no matter what, the other guy gets the result.

Re: Boxing thread
fury looked terrible last night, even before the cut.
those cuts were deep and nasty too. he'll need plastic surgery to repair it and months of recovery. fury-wilder 2 will have to postponed most likely.

Re: Boxing thread
Wilder gonna knock my boy Fury out in the rematch.

Re: Boxing thread
Imagine knowing you can beat someone, but no matter what, the other guy gets the result.
It's not that he can beat him. It's that he DID beat him.
It would be like if Michael Jordan played 1 on 1 with Charles Barkley playing to 9 points and Michael Jordan scored 9 points and Barkley scored 3 points but one of Barkley's baskets was a really really nasty poster dunk and the ref magically decided that they both scored the same amount of points and it was called a draw.
Everyone who watched that fight knows Fury won. Just because some shitty corrupt humans called it another way doesn't mean anything.
I wonder if Fury is suffering from not giving a **** after proving to himself he was still the best in the world.

Re: Boxing thread
they were really gonna let him go back out with that glob of vaseline on the cut smh lol ... haven't seen the whole thing but fury was probably bored with this fight .. he fights to the level of his opponent .. he'll be fine for the wilder rematch

Logan will crush him in the rematch.
Dude actually has a nice jab, and some solid movement early.

I agree. the jab was keeping KSI from really coming forward. He did say he wasn't taking Logan seriously, idk how much of that is true. With no head guards now, they both have to take things a little more serious.

Re: Boxing thread
Spence down to -800 favorite. He was -1100 on bovada when I looked Monday.
That Benavidez -1000 line has barely budged. Nobody thinks Dirrell is taking anything but a beating Saturday night and I don't disagree.
Found this on Reddit. 2006 US Championships Danny Jacobs vs. Shawn Porter

No, but he did more than enough for a rematch.

Porter was pretty reckless the whole fight, stalking Spence all night, made the fight tough, but his recklessness left him open alot to Spence counters, Porter to me landed the more effective punches, but Spence landed more punches and looked more technical, Porter got knocked down in the 11th by a beautiful shot by Spence. They gave it to Spence on a split decision, can't hate on that, but a much better fight than expected. Porter earned alot of people's respect tonight.

Porter was technical too. His footwork getting off the ropes and reversing position to put Spence on the ropes was there all night. Not saying you're wrong about being reckless, he was letting his hands go. Nobody has put that kind of pressure on Spence. They put on a show.

Re: Boxing thread
Porter showed he's world class tonight.Great win for Errol.
#2 PVP off that win

I had it 6 to 5 going into the 12th, and Spence had a knockdown as well.
Then Spence won the last.
SD win seems pretty fair especially as some rounds were really close.

Re: Boxing thread
I had 114-113 Porter. Easily could've gone either way. I have no problem with Spence winning but some of those wide score cards are questionable.

GGG vs derevyanchenko tonight. main card starts at 9pm. GGG should win comfortably.

I had GGG winning only the first and I think the 9th? round. That guy thoroughly beat him despite being knocked down in the first. He hurt triple G to the body a good three or four times. Derevyanchenko is a real fighter. Bad to see boxing giving guys who are dominating fights a loss.

KSI Logan Paul 2 tonight.
I got KSI by decision. Wish it went longer than 6 rounds...

Re: Boxing thread
