Case in point: Last season, it became a major item of discussion how the Jazz played 25 of their first 41 games on the road, and how they were hardly ever at home for two games in a row. Utah wound up going 20-21 in those games. The home-road imbalance shifted in the last 41 games, of course, and Utah went 30-11 in the second half. The schedule matters.
it doesn't matter as much as putting the right guys on the floor
The second game on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers (Oct. 25) should be interesting, as should an Oct. 30 home game against the LA Clippers. The Jazz also get the Sacramento Kings at home (the second game of a back-to-back) and the Phoenix Suns on the road to start things off.
Need to win all but the Lakers on the road though the back to the back might be tough
too much focus on playoff teams. Need to be looking a westeren and eastern conference game. Not many easy ones in the west. Have to expect to dominate the east though

that's what it takes to win! GS is young for a team with 4(or 3 if you don't count Klay) all stars though
As important as Gobert is on defense, Mitchell may very well be equally important on offense. And if he can improve in both decision making and efficiency from a year ago, he could come extremely close to unlocking his full potential.

I think Mitchell stepping up his all around game is more important. The offense is going to be great
During the summer of 2018, it was said by many that Derrick Favors and Dante Exum were overpaid by the Jazz. There are a number of business-centered reasons for those contracts that can be debated, but the bottom line is that the Jazz were taking care of one player that had sacrificed and another that deserved one more shot at success.

Overpaid or not neither made sense. Winning should come before loyalty or whatever that shit was

First game, quality 1st and 4th quarters, shooting was a bit off, but D was there. Liked Bojan's ability to put the ball on the floor, Adams wouldn't commit to coming up and cutting that off early, so Bojan kept taking it to the rim, then hit that big corner 3 in the 4th.
Liked Davis, Green and Mudiay off the bench doing a variety of things to contribute. Hadn't seen much of Mudiay, but he can get to the rim and push the pace in the open court and Davis kept Adams in check while Gobert was benched. Conley can't possibly shoot any worse than that, so that'll get better too.
Gobert and Mitchell did their usual things. Gobert great on D, Mitchell took over in the 4th when the game was close despite being quiet most of the game.

love the play where Davis was hanging around Adams neck like a rag doll. It can only get better. Not going to be many easy wins in the west that's for certain!
"Rudy Gobert had 14 screen assists that lead to 29 points last night including a monster screen on Donovan's game clinching basket"
Averaged a league leading 5.9 last year apparently, so that's just a tad above average for him!

They have a big one or a big 4. Don't see how you can put Mitchell/Conley above Bojan after last year
Gobert is a megastar rather anyone likes the idea or not. Jazz have been terrible without him
over 17 a game when Favors was benched in favor of Johnson/Diaw. This team is that one on steroids. How the numbers shake out is anyones guess but he and Mitchell will be better than ever certainly
yep. It will be different guys from night to night. Against Adams Rudy didn't get as many good opportunities at the rim. Against Mcgee/Howard he should get more. But who's going to stop Mitchell, Conley or Bojan on the Lakers?
Might depend on how Mitchell does though.
Using All-Star appearances to determine a "mega-star" is a bit misguided. That's a popularity contest plain and simple.
I don't think there's any coach in the league who doesn't think Rudy is a star just because he's not in the all-star game.

There's no doubt. It was obvious OKC was trying to take away the roll in the first game which opened up the floor for everyone else. Pick your poison. Lakers will have a hard time stopping him with McGee/Howard.
