The DNC absolutely would have preferred Pete (see Iowa), but he did so poorly with minorities, they decided Biden was their man to stop Bernie. After South Carolina, they clearly recognized Biden could challenge Bernie (with some “help” of course) and that was that. Warren was never an option, she is no leftist but she makes concessions to the working class the establishment doesn’t like. They would have only got behind her if it was between her and Bernie (of the candidates who seemed viable. They wouldn’t have let Tulsi or Marianne Williamson get the nomination either.
