Pelicans and Kings eliminated from 2020 NBA playoff contention

The Pelicans and Kings will officially miss the 2020 NBA playoffs.

The final West spot will go to either the Grizzlies, Blazers, Suns or Spurs.

The East was finalized a day or two ago, as the Wizards, who had almost no shot at making the playoffs, were officially eliminated.

The suns will probably follow suit soon. Unless they can produce a great upset against the spurs, blazers and grizzlies in the final seeding, then their current 5-0 standing in the bubble will be all for nothing.

The league is very strong. Pelicans have basically two Pippens and still can’t clinch a spot

I hope so. It would have been awesome as well if the spurs can still also clinch this year but this time is really different. They'd probably kissing goodbye rn to that long postseason streak but they shouldn't feel bad about that because this year has been tainted so much already anyway. So..

Surprised at how bad the Pelicans were in the bubble. I do like the March Madness vibe of the Western Conference chase for the 8 seed. Some teams you would expect more out of them have faltered and others have shined. The Phoenix Suns are like the team in college basketball that was crap all year and then went on a run in their conference tournament to make the big dance. Nobody would have had them in better shape at this point than the Pelicans. The Pelicans were supposed to be what this was all created for in order to get them in.

It was really supposed to be a Grizzlies/Pelicans play-in, but both teams have been bad, and Portland got healthy during the Pandemic. At least Memphis had a difficult schedule. Pelicans had the easiest one. Probably should have put Zion back in the final minutes against the Jazz.

If there was a conspiracy against the Suns, it would have already happened. The NBA isn't rigged. If it was rigged, Zion would be in the playoffs.

Regardless of who gets the last seed in the west amongst the four of them, they're bound to get crushed by the lakers in the first round anyway. That is unless they can prove things, ofc.

Seriously deprived their rising star from playoff experience because they didn't want to play him 10 more minutes per game. So many close games that got away in the last stretch.
