Jimmy Butler 2018-2020 is a better player then Clyde Drexler ever was


Butler took the Kawhi raptors further then Drexler took Jordan's bulls.

Butler is now shitting on any Drexler playoff run. Eliminating the reigning MVP in Giannis and game 3 made the biggest finals upset in nba history. Now I know why they call him jimmy buckets. Butler has better defense, ball handling, shooting, physical and mental toughness. Clyde loses to butler in every category.

This has to be one of the worsr takes ever. I like jimmy but he's not as good as drexler. Butler is killing in an era where alot of guys are killing it. Fast pace, less physicality on defense and no down low rim protection.

Offenses are way better these days because talent pool, floor spacing, more picks and rolls, better shooters, no big man clogging lanes

AKA 10x harder offenses to defend. Lakers still remained an elite defense all year.

Kawhi also squats 400 pounds and leg presses about 600 pounds, his physical strength destroys Clyde and that's what makes him a better athlete. But Clyde isn't on Kawhi's level, Clyde would get embarrassed by Kawhi like Butler did in 2019 playoffs. Clydes not even better then Butler, he never eliminated an MVP or had a finals performance like this.

22 PPG on 122 ORTG is really nice... but Clyde put up better than that volume and efficiency. I'm actually kind of blown away by Drexler's prime playoff efficiency and volume. He was scoring at a very elite level and was a great playmaker athlete and defensive player as well. He averaged 20+ PPG on 120 ORTG in 1995 championship run with clutch play to boot, and everybody acts like Hakeem carried scrubs. And he did it in an era where it was harder to get buckets. No way is Jimmy better than prime Clyde.

I don't think people consider the Rockets 'scrubs', as much as the 94 run was basically Hakeem and a cast of really good role players who played their parts to perfection. Clyde was definitely a more than solid number 2 on the 95 team, but people mostly remember how dominant Dream was against his own positional rivals.
