Team USA has added JaVale McGee to their Olympic basketball roster

JaVale McGee will now be playing on a world stage in the Tokyo Olympics.

That's a good but not great pickup. They needed a 7 foot shotblocker.

Why did trae young get the isiah thomas treatment? He would be the best point guard and passer on the roster. That selfish bastard Lloyd pierce probably told pop not to get him. Instead we're wasting spots on guys like Kendall Johnson? Come on pop

We'll see if he can adjust to FIBA rules, but overall probably a good pick.

You don't want to give lesser talented teams a player to target. Plus the smaller court+increased physicality+lack of bailout fouls might mean Trae would be less effective in FIBA. Keldon Johnson is a big physical wing defender who moves without the ball, and he's already been there training the whole time.
