You are an idiot. Rocky Marciano's greatest were against a past him prime Joe Louis, and an Ezzard Charles who's more of a Light Heavyweight. Joe Louis and Larry Holmes had far superior resume. Jack Dempsey ducked Sam Langford and Jack Johnson. Sonny Liston would have KO Rocky Marciano if he continues boxing.

you change your criteria for each boxer. I go based on all time impact and greatness and every boxer has his faults. Ali stayed too long and got hit a bunch and ended up almost brain dead. he was also a giant ***** refusing the draft. I have him #1 cause it's the consensus mostly. Marciano should be #1 realistically

Ali beat plenty of hall of famers. He beat Frazier and foreman and those were better than a washed up version of Joe Louis. Rocky Marciano retired at 32. And he ducked Sonny Liston. Marciano's fight were also controlled by the Mafia.

why is Larry holmes being ranked so damn high by 2 guys ITT lol
he lost every big fight he ever had. became a champion beating nobodies and his biggest win came against a 40 year old washed up Ali

He also defeated Ken Norton who defeated Al, Norton was also robbed in the 3rd Ali fight. Leon Spinks,
Gerry Cooney, Carl Williams, Mike Weaver, and the hard hitting Earnie Shaves. He defended the Heavyweight title 19x against former and future heavyweight champion.. He was in his late 30's when he was defeated by Tyson and Michael Spinks. Even George Foreman said a prime Larry Holmes would have beaten him in the late 1970's and early 1980's if he didn't retired.

Wtf are you talking about? Larry Holmes didn't lost a fight until he was 35 years old, if anything Tyson is the most overrated fighter ever, he is highly regarded because of his crazy KO's, but most of his wins were against bums, the moment he went up against real competition in his prime he got exposed.
Larry Holmes was champ during a weak era of heavyweights, but his resume is superior to Tyson.

Re: Greatest Heavyweight Boxers of all time
It's not even controversial. A lot of serious boxing fans put Holmes at #3. Most fans put him at least top 7.
Disagreeing is fine, but acting astounded that he's ranked so high just shows ignorance.

Re: Greatest Heavyweight Boxers of all time
I think Fury deserves discussion for top 10.

he needs more of a sample size of big fights before he makes top 10. and it's not to say he's gonna just crack the top 10. I think if he can dominate usyk or Joshua and defend successfully for another 5 years then I would put him possibly top 3 behind Ali and Marciano
hes like giannis in the way that he just needs a bigger body of work before he's ranked all time period
-
Re: Greatest Heavyweight Boxers of all time
Frazier was so badass back then too

You can argue his resume is already better than Mike Tyson, a guy who you have #10.

how do you know where I have tyson ranked. I've never once posted a top 10 list. and my ranking changes all the time. the only clear thing is Ali is #1 based on other fighters opinions. sometimes I have tyson 8, 9, 10 or even 11th
there's no set criteria. it's just what you value most any given day

The way he dismantled Klitchko and Wilder, for sure.
Plus we can see Fury would be a big problem for anyone in boxing history.

I love fury but he beat an old klitchko and wilder can't even box
I wanna see him go up against a good young fighter of equal skill like the past greats
I can see his skills are all time great but he needs legit wins to pass other guys that had many
tyson is the only guy I can bump for fury right now cause he mostly beat bums too and lost to every equally great fighter

Klitschko before the Fury fight went 10+ years without losing a fight, and the year after he lost to Fury he went up against a peak Joshua and pretty much faught him to a draw before he got TKO'd in the 11th. Klitschko wasn't washed by any means.

No doubt, shit all you want about Wilder's boxing skills, but as far as punching power goes, he's probably the hardest hitting boxer ever, not even Mike Tyson could knock you out with just one punch the way Wilder did. I could only imagine how nasty Wilder would have been if he actually had some good skills.
I believe Fury in the condition he was in his 2nd Wilder fight beats most heavyweights in history.

No way he is the hardest hittin hw ever... rubbish spewed from the start. Most of the previous champs would have had similar ko numbers with his resume. Before Fury, the best boxer he beat was 40+ year old Ortiz... Let that sink in.

Yes, as far as raw hitting power goes, Wilder is the GOAT. Tyson would knock you out with combinations, Wilder just needed one shot.

All his KOs are against bums. That is my point. If he fought better comp, he wouldn't have the KO percentage he does. He isn't a harder hitter than Foreman as an example. Wladimir Klitschko had as good a KO percentage after his first 45, and he fought better comp.

O SHUT UP! he beat two fking people..... an over the hill vladmir and a dude who gets his ass kicked every single fight til he lands a lucky punch....that he also out weighed by about 6 weight classes (40 pounds)
like i said before...Him taking 11 rounds to stop wilder is pathetic.....Thats like errol spence taking 11 rounds to knock out chocolatito...He should of stopped him in 2 rounds 3 max( he really should of stopped him in one punch)....This man is gonna be very overrated until he fights a good fight smh.....this historically weak era is gonna really skew his career to casuals
Wilder started boxing in like his 20s....get the fk out of here you prisoners of the fkin moment. No one who knows anything about boxing even gave him a fking chance outside of landing a lucky punch

why wouldn't he be the favorite till he loses. wtf lmao
he was still old as hell and fury was prime. it was perfect timing.
again I think Fury beats him in his prime but I wanna see him actually do something like that before I can put him higher than 10th all time

I'm critical of furys wins but I'm not gonna hate on the man like this lol. fury woulda got a TKO way sooner had he just boxed wilder like the 2nd fight. he was going for the clean knockout and Wilders hard to put down so it took longer. it's not like he wasn't landing bombs every round and didn't have him wobbling most of the fight. Wilders just too much of a retard to know he's being slowly killed

And all of Mike Tyson's KOs are against bums. Wilder knocked down Fury 4 times in their 3 fights. Tyson never came close to knocking anyone out once he went up elite decent competition.
