According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz are sending Gobert to the Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Balmaro, and rookie Walker Kessler.
The Timberwolves will also send the Jazz four future first-round picks, including unprotected picks in 2023, 2025, and 2027, and a top-five protected pick in 2029.

good luck with that! They just became one of the worst defensive teams in the league. They have never won without Gobert in the past 7 plus years
Posted this in another article, but per a NYP article on the Gobert trade: “Several reports on Friday indicated Utah is interested in Suns center Deandre Ayton, a restricted free agent, which would confirm that they don’t plan on tearing down.”

Andy Larsen: FWIW: I’m hearing some pushback regarding the idea that the Jazz are definitely keeping Donovan Mitchell moving forward. Sense is that the Jazz are keeping their options open here: they could retool around Mitchell, or trade him for a massive haul to jumpstart a rebuild. In particular, watch Miami. Obviously, Kevin Durant is their No. 1 target, but if that doesn’t work out, they have been and will continue to be aggressive re: Donovan Mitchell.

I think Herro might be better than Mitchell if he gets the chance. I'd want Bam though!
Certainly wasn't surprising that Minny got him after looking at all the assets they had in the trade machine
• Measured standing 7-foot-1 in shoes with a 256-pound frame and a 7-foot-6 wingspan at the 2022 NBA Draft Combine, Kessler has very good size for a center. His combination of mobility, timing, and his 9-foot-5 standing reach made him a presence around the rim on both ends as a sophomore.
Not quite Rudy length but like Udoka before him it sounds like he has Gobert like potential but so do lots of guys and most haven't come close
Leandro Bolmaro is Argentinian/Italian. I was a fan of that first generation Ginobi, Scola, Nocioni. Good size. Still young. Must like him because there were a lot of other young guys they probably could have gotten instead
https://zonecoverage.com/2022/timberwolves/where-does-leandro-bolmaro-fit-in-wolves-future/
this is probably a good scouting report from one of the Wolves writers
Bolmaro is a versatile wing who provides Minnesota with the varied skill set that all NBA teams are looking for. We saw it for glimpses this year and to varying effect, but at 6’6″, Bolmaro can handle the ball. While he may never develop into a primary ballhandler, Bolmaro can be a secondary playmaker and reset the offense when a play breaks down. He’s probably a more natural small forward, which fits right into Minnesota’s roster construction. The only other true small forward on the roster is Jake Layman, even if Jaden McDaniels is probably the Wolves’ (tall) small forward of the future.
sounds like Quin's type of player anyway
Bolmaro struggled with his jumper as a rookie, shooting a sub-par 27.1 percent from three in 11 G League games. However, he flashed some promise as a reliable three-point shooter before Minnesota drafted him 23rd overall in 2020. During his two-year stint with FC Barcelona, a teenage Bolmaro hit 41 percent of his threes, albeit on a very small sample size (35-for-85). Furthermore, it’s promising to see that Bolmaro has a feathery touch from the free-throw line. In his international career, he shot 84 percent from the charity stripe, 90 percent in the G League, and almost 85 percent (11-13) in the NBA. Again, it’s a small sample size, but it shows that he has a good shooting base to build off of. He has the tools to become a good shooter at all levels in the NBA.
looks like he's potentially a good shooter. Probably won't have much value without it!
Vanderbilt looks like a good rebounder and maybe defender? Not a good shooter. Kessler and the 3 unprotected picks look like the biggest part of the deal
The Jazz sent Rudy Gobert to Minnesota in a deal that netted Utah four future first-round picks and 2022 first-round pick Walker Kessler, per ESPN. Reports from The Athletic and ESPN stated that Utah has no plans to trade Mitchell and would retool its roster around Donovan Mitchell. But there is some skepticism about Utah’s long-term plans in the wake of the Gobert trade.

The Jazz had one of the bigger pick deficits in the NBA as recently as Wednesday. They were out two picks due to win-now trades made by Dennis Lindsey, but they’d also traded young players like Grayson Allen and Trey Lyles soon after picking them. Some of those trades were absolutely warranted, but the totality of the strategy made Utah one of the NBA’s oldest teams. Yet in the past 24 hours or so, they’ve managed to add a total of six first-round picks: an unprotected Philadelphia pick from a fairly combustible 76ers team in the Royce O’Neale trade with Brooklyn, four first-rounders from the Timberwolves here, a swap in 2026 and Walker Kessler, who just went No. 22 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. That’s one of the bigger asset turnarounds in recent league history. — Sam Quinn
More importantly they became one of the worst teams in the league heading into a historic lottery :(
https://thejnotes.com/2022/07/02/utah-jazz-win-rudy-gobert-trade/2/
The downside to the trade is the money situation. Most of these incoming players are under contract until 2024 or 2025, meaning the Jazz will not be able to take a swing at a big free agent anytime soon. Unless they can trade the new assets for picks, they need to pay these guys. That being said, Utah should not be in any rush to acquire picks now, and all but Bomaro and Kessler should be instant impact players.
I'd be surprised if the Jazz pay tax next year. Only around 7 million over after the trade I thinkMost of the vets on the team will be gone by the trade deadline. Hopefully sooner!
Even if you want Utah to give it all they have and try to win now, with these picks, if they are able to dump enough salary, they could make a deal with Phoenix to acquire Deandre Ayton, who would be a great rim-runner to pair with Donovan Mitchell.
If Rudy Gobert relocates this summer, having an anchor in the paint will be very necessary for the Jazz. Whiteside has never been an offensive threat, but his shot-blocking, rebounding, and physical presence makes him a constant threat down low. Knowing that better teams might pick up the phone to inquire about signing him, the Jazz will have to offer up a little more cash than anyone else. Is he worth it? No, but if Gobert is gone then they need another option. If Gobert stays, let Whiteside walk. Otherize, he might be worth an overpay.
God know! Udoka and Kessler assuming Kessler is ready. If not look for another young vet

His court vision, defense, and ball handling are all good reasons for him to get a longer chance with Utah, or in the NBA as a whole, but his total inability when it comes to shooting will be his downfall.

If he wants to stay in Utah, the Jazz could pay him a small amount and make it very clear that he will be in the G-League until he gets his shot to fall.
