Re: Breaking: DAngelo Russell resigns with Lakers for 37mill
I think that's a solid deal. He was inconsistent in the playoffs and didn't show up in the WCF. However, he fit well in the regular season and during the earlier rounds of the postseason. Mike Conley would've been a better fit, though. The D-Lo and AD P&R is pretty weak according to the numbers. Russell just isn't a natural passer in those play actions.

bron at the 3, Rui at the 4, Davis at the 5. Prince is not a starter in this league.

Re: Breaking: DAngelo Russell resigns with Lakers for 37mill
These numbers obviously don't tell a complete picture. Limited sample size. D-Lo does need to get better at passing to the roll man.

Not a big D-Lo fan, but I like that we got him for pretty cheap.

Thats a nail in the coffin for the Lakers title hopes. Not that they had any anyways.

He actually played good in the first 2 round of the playoffs. One bad playoffs series against the nuggets doesn't mean he is a bad player. Nuggets were the best team in 2023

Replace Reddish with Max Christie. Reddish sucks as is not cracking the rotation. Also you forgot Vando. And rui is a starter. Also wtf is Hood?
We stacked!

Re: Breaking: D'Angelo Russell re-signs with Lakers for 37mill
9 mill pr. year is decent.
Who is making these moves for Lakers?
Compare to "Nico" from Mavs who does nothing but sign Kyrie for a max lol.

It’s 18.5 mill per year.

Re: Breaking: D'Angelo Russell re-signs with Lakers for 37mill
Lakers should sign Dillon Brooks for the minimum if they can. Russell Westbrook would be nice off the bench for them too.

What????? They're the most stacked team in the league. Anything less than a championship is epic failure.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. They're still loaded but dlo proved in the playoffs last year he isn't the guy you want at 4th or 5th option. I thought he was, but he's not.

Re: Breaking: DAngelo Russell resigns with Lakers for 37mill
Tpols isn’t very smart.. Russell was an excellent fit in the regular season. He only one truly atrocious series in the playoffs—his first where he got past the first round. It’s too small a sample size to judge him one way or the other. He will now have a full summer and training camp to meld with the lakers and get him more consistent throughout the regular season.

Nah, he's a good signing considering we didn't overpay, but I don't like the dude's game. Terrible shot selection and doesn't provide defense. Can have a stretch where he looks all-star level, but then looks like the worst player on the court. Maybe Pelinka can flip him at the deadline.

Vanderbilt will start at the 4. LeBron at 3. They can go Rui at the 4 too when they need offense rather than defense.

DLO is a very good reg seasin starter.
Lakers chemistry should be better since the core young and vetscare coming back. They got better shooting overall.
Lebron I expect will be what he was in the playoffs with a tiny bit more bounce.
AD 27ppg
Lebron 23ppg
D lo 19ppg
Reaves 17ppg with 5 and 5 being pnr creator
Rui 14ppg with better defense and rebounding

That's 100 points right there. I hope Vincent can give at least 10ppg and Vanderbilt same. Any other contribution from Prince, Hayes, and Hood will be cherry on top. I don't expect much from Christie, Reddish, Lewis, and whoever is at the end of the bench.
I think we still need a veteran big who can provide a few minutes off bench.
