Who is the worst player in this picture?
^
The usual question attached to this image:

An image some say was designed to shit on Dwyane Wade though to me, it’s pretty arguable he isn’t the answer. He is among the candidates, but a few of those guys were the same basic level.

Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Based off peak? I’d prob have to say KD.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Well, Steph and Magic weren't very good defenders. Kobe and Wade probably had the most down seasons in their twilight years. Magic was the worst scorer. Kd hiding in the corner hoping we don't look at him. Not even going to mention anyone else's name. Never imagined I'd make this argument but Curry or Magic.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Even though he had an amazing peak, Wade is clearly the odd man out. Only has like 4 superstar seasons under his belt while everyone else on that list were superstars for about a decade+.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Hard to say. Physically speaking Curry did the most with the least and Shaq did the least with the most.
It might be Kareem though. That dude was corny... and basically won nothing outside Magic carrying him.

I’m gonna go ahead and skip past the obvious troll part and Focus on the start….
We talk about physical gifts and what comes natural. How much do we factor in hand coordination from a dad who was an all-time great shooter who shaped you to be one as well?
his brother is a career 43%. Do you believe you can be genetically predisposed to good hand eye coordination? And if so, is that genetic predisposition as useful as being athletic? Ever see him play golf? Steph Curry is not a normal human. He’s just abnormal in ways that don’t catch the eye.
I don’t know if somebody with poor natural coordination can just shoot as much as the people in his family and go make the NBA at the height they are.
Just no widely acceptable way to measure it.

Crazy take. He led the Bucks to a title (2x Finals), had 5 MVPs and led his team to the playoffs 8 out of 10 seasons before Magic. Unless players are winning a title or in the Finals every season they're a loser?
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
It's a toss up between Wade and KD. Durant has failed to get to the Finals with some stacked teams. Something Wade never did.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
When you're discussing players at this level it's like splitting hairs, but I'm gonna have to agree that it's a tossup between Wade and Durant.
In terms of overall talent I would give it to Durant by a hair, but Wade was more of a dog and a leader on the floor.
It's close.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
As a career? Wade.
At their peak? Kobe or Wade.

Kareems whole prime was in one of the weakest eras ever ~ the 70s... and he only won once while playing with a fellow GOAT in Oscar Robertson.
The Kareem led Lakers were a big disappointment and then when Magic came over they flipped a dynasty switch immediately.
And Magic led teams were still more successful than Kareems even after Kareem retired and Magic had AIDs.

The question is pretty simple. Given the 70s was supposedly a weak era, who won more consistently with similar or less talent?
The team's who won multiple times (Knicks, Celtics) had more talent, so your point is useless and biased.

Not really, peak wise Kareem and KD are the two worst player in this picture
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
D Wade. Curry 2nd. KD third.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
The disrespect towards Kareem here makes me SMH.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
The answer is simple.
The worst player, is Wade. That's why Lebron had to carry his ass.
The best players, after Lebron, are Kobe, KD, and Curry. The guys whose superteam dynasties Lebron always had to do battle with.
The rest are overrated boomers from trash eras.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Everyone here is talking worst as in goat argument? I'm looking at just as a player sterile from their career stuff aside from the individual awards i guess. That's why I said Magic or Curry because they were more or less one way players compared to the rest of the list. If we're going by goat status then it's probably Wade or Kd.

Based on what? You didn’t watch Kareem. You were born probably a decade after he retired, much less when he was in his prime.

This. Peakwise, Kareem is closer to the best than the worst.

I dunno about that.
If Magic took a time machine to the year 2024 and you put him on a team with complimentary talent, they are probably contending. He'd probably resemble something like Jokic, a big who backs down his man and creates for his teammates but could also kill you in transition. Plus he was just a natural leader.
As for Curry, you saw what happened when he paired up with another great player in KD. He became unstoppable. Switch out KD with another great scorer and I think you have similar results, but I'm not sure you could just switch out Curry.

In order of who I take off first:
Wade
Durant
Curry
Lebron
Kobe

excuse me ?????????????????????
do you know bball ??? lmfao
Kareem was the Bucks .
I will have to pick KDurant. (sad to say it , cause he is a fabulous player)
Anyone dumbing on D-wade is clueless as well.
He was basically the last superstar to carry his team..
For years Heat made the playoff's n D-wades shoulders. (dude is awesome)

obviously you did not see d-wade in his prime , carrying his team to the playoffs year in and year out.
You were probably not even born yet .. lol

Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
There were 3 years after Shaq left where the Heat won 15, 43 and 47 games while making the playoffs twice and losing in the first round both times.
Wade didn't do anything a number of other superstar players did in their prime when they were tasked with carrying shit teams.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Wade, Kobe, Durant and Magic are in the bottom 4.

do u realize D-Wade was worn out by then :facepalm

Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Has to be KD. Failed so many times, had a horrible time post 2018. It's not Wade. Wade's 2006 run is more impressive than any of Kobe's and he did it with a much worse version of Shaq.

"Much worse" is inaccurate.
Shaq was runner up for league MVP with the Heat in 05. In 06 with Zo in the picture he played less minutes so his scoring dropped a lil but his eFG% didnt, it remained identical to 05 which was actually the highest of his career.
His role changed because Miami had a lot of shot takers that season but theyre not winning a championship if Shaq was "much worse" than his Laker years.
It was after the championship when Shaq basically said "I'll just start collecting checks now"

What?? Kareem won 6 MVP's and was the FMVP in 71 and 85 and was voted the FMVP in 1980 after Magic's great game 6 but because he was not present, the voters were asked to change their votes so Magic would get the award - see "Kareem" pages 140-141. Kareem won the rebounding title in 75-76 season at 16.9 per game. Kareem in his first ten seasons averaged 14.8 rebounds per game. Kareem in 1984 was 4th in the MVP vote and in 1985 was 5th in the MVP vote. Magic was a great addition to the LA team, but carried Kareem? - no way.

People picking Kareem who were born decades after he retired but speak with such authority. Not much else to add to the discourse....

Not saying those people are right or wrong but how is it any different than people defending him even though they were also born decades after he retired? I doubt there is more than 3 posters on this site that saw Kareem play live in his Milwaukee days.
-
Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Offensively ? Duncan.
Defensively ? Steph.
All around ? Wade.

Fair enough, but I generally steer clear of defending or criticising players I lack enough knowledge to offer a reasonably intelligent opinion on. I would personally err on the side of thinking Kareem being the worst player here is a fairly outlier take, if for no other reason than just going by the context of relative dominance of his own era there's little reason for me to think he's the worst player. I don't need to view it from the lense of trying to determine if he was better on the floor than eg KD.

Shaq was still a force in 06. The numbers suffered a bit but both the Pistons and mavericks made it a point to take him out of the game.
To Wade’s credit he feasted on that. But it wasn’t like they were throwing the kitchen sink at him and he still dominated. Shaq was still in the back of everyone’s minds.

Re: Who is the worst player in this picture?
Pure skills perspective, taking everything else out of the equation - all of these are light years above Lebron. Ironically or not ironically the only one here pictured with a losing finals record.
Curry = 4/6
Wade = 3/5
Jordan = 6/0
Kobe = 5/7
Magic = 5/9
KD = 2/3 (or 2/4 if you count the 10 min he played in the 2019 finals)
Duncan = 5/6
Shaq = 4/6
KAJ = 6/10
Only one of these is 4/10.
