What's next for the Democrats?
So it's blatantly obvious now that the only reason why Trump lost in 2020 was that everything was done within the Dems' power to remove him from office. That's why the turnout for Biden was huge and record-setting despite him being a terrible President who was incapable of running for a second term. Trump got more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016 and it's looking like he'll get more votes in 2024 than he did in 2020, including winning the Popular vote.
So what's next for the Democrats? Clearly Kamala was a terrible candidate and should have never been the nominee, but what happens in 4 years?
I honestly don't see the Republicans losing this momentum for the next 12 years. I fully believe whoever replaces Trump on the 2028 Republican ticket will be President for two terms. That's how bad Democrats are right now. So who is out there? Newsom? That man is a lunatic. Shapiro? Meh. Who else? All the moderate Dems who would poll better already switched to the Republican side, so all that's left on the LEFT are radical lunatics in my humble opinion. So where does the Party go from here?
I see the MAGA movement just dominating the landscape for a while.

He's terrible too from him having no personality and charisma to his politics. And of course, he's a homosexual. America will not be voting for a gay President for a while. I mean, I would have no problem voting for a Gay Republican, but a gay Democrat in office? This country would never be the same.
And that's my fear is that the Democrats will not understand the message that was sent by the voters this time around. That wokeness, DEI, and Identity Politics will no longer be tolerated. And I have a feeling these radical Dems that have taken over the Party will just go further down the rabbit hole and prop up some Trans Blue-haired Lesbian non-binary candidate in 4 years.

That's a pretty naive take bro :lol You've been following this long enough now to know elections are cyclical, one party gets put in charge, then the country votes them out, puts the other in charge, and they repeat this cycle on an endless loop. Obama and the Democrats destroyed the Republicans in '08, then in '16 Republicans took over, then in 2020 it went back to the Dems, and now it's back to the Republicans. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if the Democrats win back at least the House or Senate in the next midterms.
As overly saturated as political coverage is, they still remain unpredictable. I remember back in 2012 the Republicans worrying they may never win another presidential election again due to the demographic shifts in this country. Then out of nowhere Trump appears on the political scene, taking the country on a course absolutely nobody could have seen coming.
I agree the Democrats are probably in the worst shape a party has been in fundamentally in a very long time. They've just gone completely off the deep end with their obsession with identity politics, ironically alienating many minority voters in the process. I saw countless pundits try to pin this loss on racism & sexism. Ignoring the fact that claim gets easily debunked due to having a black man as president for 8 years, if that's the genuine conclusion they've reached about this election, that it was just racists and sexists voting them out of office, not them foolishly just handing the nomination to an absolutely terrible candidate, the same one who received 0% in their last primary, and having the country reject them on the basis of their policies and agenda, then they will never be able to fix what ails them.
If this election wasn't a huge wake up call to them, losing every swing state, losing congress, losing huge percentages of minority voters, and even losing the popular vote by over 4 million, I'm not sure what else it would take for them to get the message they need significant, fundamental changes to their platform. Even having said all that, I'm quite confident the Democrats will retake power within the next few years, that's just the way the election cycle goes, the public grows tired of the party in charge and seeks to make a change.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
They need a full on reset, but now that the GOP controls every segment of Government and even Twitter with Elon it will be an easy path that pretty much creates itself. Dems will naturally go back to being the underdog and naturally win back anyone who is in a struggle.
Also just statistically speaking, it is going to be near impossible for any administration to keep this current economy at the shape it is now. Realistically speaking, the POTUS does not control the economy. Over 4 years, a downturn is bound to happen and Republicans will be blamed.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
They will continue trying to appeal to the right, even more so now, instead of actually giving their base progressive economic policies. And they’ll continue to get results like 2024.

Unfortunately they can not get more progressive than they already were, which wasn't even progressive.
The country is not ready for true progression, that takes decades of political evolution.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
Dems tried to run a champaign for EVERYONE and that became a champaign for NO ONE.
My first feeling of a Trump takeover was when the new TSMC plant was halted in AZ. I knew a lot of people who were supposed to go work there, my indian american engineer neighbor(who is a huge democrat and a liberal) was supposed to work there, and had to rescind his pending resignation at Intel when the plans stopped because of the Biden chips act. That's humiliating, it's basically crawling back after you peaced out and you're training your replacement. Then they pile on the raised tax for $400k+ and cap gains tax(a lot of educated people work in fields where they're paid in equity) and dems like him see Trump as a lesser evil. Still terrible, just less so. About half the educated friends I knew who were overwhelmingly Biden in 2020(only 1 even considered ****ing with Trump in 20), half of them went for Trump this time around; crossing their fingers that the guardrails we currently have are strong enough to prevent any kind of attempted coup takeover. That was when I felt Trump was going to win AZ this time around. These were plans to **** over rich people and pander to the 'working class', but are my neighbor and I not working class as well? I've spoken with my neighbor extensively and our only goal is to be able to pay for college for our kids and retire comfortably(little to no downgrade to our current lifestyle), neither of us are going to be cruising around on yachts spreading Almas Caviar over Orchard Pigs bread.
And no, I don't blame others for voting Kamala for tax cuts for under $70k income either, you vote for your own best interest or you're just an utter moron(altruistic, for the rare few). My point is, in 2020 the educated community was overwhelmingly Biden and this time around a good chunk I felt voted Trump and another good chunk just threw their arms up in frustration and didn't participate at all. They wheeled out a black woman to pander to the blacks and the women and did nothing for us.

Nah, we've seen this before, you of all people Pat, you're old enough to at least remember how strong the GOP were under Reagan and even then, Dems controlled the House, he did his two terms and his replacement got ousted before serving his two terms, when it was more uncommon for an incumbent to lose. This shit runs in cycles, the GOP after GWB were a mess, totally out of power and in disarray during Obama's first two years, same thing being said about Democrats today was being said about the Republican party, now the GOP are on top. Americans get tired really quickly of one political party being in power too long it seems, their actions prove it and since they don't have a plethora of options, they go to the other side. I wouldn't be surprised that in the mid terms during Trump's two years the Democrats get a hold of either the House or the Senate, maybe even both. That almost is the case every midterm, 4 years is a long time in politics, Vance is a poor VP choice, I don't see him having anywhere the pull that Trump has.
I just don't see a 12 year run of one party holding on to all the levers of power in this day and age.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
As for the future, dems are still beholden to their corporate masters as are Trump and the GOP. They won't become progressive, but will try to pander harder to the middle class and bring out more charismatic candidates. Bring back Andrew Yang and actually put support behind him, gen Z loves him because he's the only person talking about the repercussions of the inevitable tech race(showing concerns for gen z's future) and the inflation of education, the educated love him because he actually puts his policy proposals on his website, he's a realist and he's dogmatic and a MEI over DEI guy. He wasn't popular with the boomers, but **** the boomers. That generation can't die soon enough.

I don't see Democrats turning it around and rejecting the radical and woke ideology that has hijacked that party that quickly. Within 4 years at least. That's why I think whoever comes after Trump will still be riding high on the wave of Trump and the MAGA movement. Trump should have been President for two consecutive terms, so I can see where a Republican wins again in 2028.
I can see Dems eventually moving more towards the center, but not within 4 years. Like I said, I think that party alienated all the moderate Dems and either pushed them towards the Republican side or pushed towards being an Independent like Senator Sinema.
But until this Party shakes off the radicalism that has taken it over, I don't see them winning another election again. I mean, just 24 hours after Trump won the election, you had Democrat governors across the country talking about how they'll go against him and reject the Federal Government if they try to deport illegals. Leticia James in New York also talking about still trying to take down Trump. They just don't learn their lesson.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
Another glaring thing about Democrats is how this idea of electing a woman for President may not be the best idea right now. And I'll use two examples. Both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris refused to address the audience the night that they lost and instead had a surrogate come out and tell the crowd that they will address the audience the next day. It may not mean much at the end of the day to some people, but to me it's very telling. Imagine if something major happened to this country like a terrorist attack or a nuclear strike, and our President cannot come out and immediately address the nation. That's beyond problematic. Is that a woman thing? An emotional woman thing? Maybe. But it just doesn't look good and only makes us look weak if we had a woman President who couldn't handle the heat and face the music.
For contrast, Trump had his whole family and surrogates out on stage at 2 AM in the morning to address the crowd and give his victory speech.

Re: What's next for the Democrats?
The turn out for Biden the last election was not huge. It was voter fraud. With the topic being the most censored topic of all time. After the first few days there were great videos on YouTube showing statistical impossibilities, but YouTube made a rule that if you mention that there was voter fraud, you lose your YouTube channel. It would have been a major topic here and everywhere else, debating the evidence, if it wasn't forbidden to talk about on all of social media.
We have a situation where most Americans don't care about politics, with many only learning on election day that Biden was replaced. Biden ran his campaign while staying in his basement, feebled and showing signs of dementia, and when he ran a rally, you only had dozens of people in attendance, like 36, all part of his staff. There's no way he got 85 million votes.
Lets not forget the never done before halting of the votes in the middle of the night.

It's the desperate and deranged white people with no esteem or place in society who OBSESSIVELY play the race-rescuer hero role in order to feel like theyre worth something to someone. It's an actual mental illness born of loneliness and lack of any other purpose in life. It's similar to munchausen by proxy syndrome. A parent quietly keeps making a child ill just because they like the attention it brings from neighbors and doctors and news teams. It's actually really sad, in this case for both the mentally ill white individuals and for the minority groups they keep forcing into the role of damsel in distress.
-
Re: What's next for the Democrats?
Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP) -- or Munchausen by proxy -- is a psychological disorder marked by attention-seeking behavior by a caregiver through those who are in their care.
MSP is a relatively rare behavioral disorder. It affects a primary caretaker, often the mother. The person with MSP gains attention by seeking medical help for exaggerated or made-up symptoms of a child in their care. As health care providers strive to identify what's causing the child's symptoms, the deliberate actions of the parent or caretaker can often make the symptoms worse
These roles fit self loathing leftists and minorities to a tee.
