High-scoring triple-doubles by perimeter players have a high volume of unassisted buckets (ball-domination) that leaves teammates standing around in spot-up roles - this yields weak teammate development, chemistry and perennial losers with every cast.. The spot-up roles also lower teammate assists across the board, so the team cannot become a high assist team with a lot of ball movement like the teams that beat Lebron (Nuggets, Spurs, Warriors, Mavs, Magic).. Lebron can't beat top teams like that and never has, so it's AD-ball against the top teams.

And no one cares about the play of a 39 year old because it's nothing compared to him at 29, or any other all-time great.. It might be the best ball-domination that we've seen for a 39+year old, but it ranks about 150th all-time otherwise (or worse).

Also, the league has evolved (or devolved) into a format where a player with that many shots or touches cannot be held down - 20% of the league will get 30/10/10 if the ball is put in their hands to run today's standard "down-hill" and spaced floor format.. The beginner format achieves pretty stats but gets exposed in international formats, which now produce the best players... People don't realize that Lebron, KD and Curry are great because they didn't grow up in today's format, but they're the last of American great players because the beginner format that Adam Silver/Lebron cooked up CANNOT and DOES NOT produce great players (and allows anyone to dominate).

It's easier to get triple-doubles now with how heliocentric offenses have become. Jordan & Kobe did not just hog the ball on every possession, even if they shot 20+ times a game + teams play smaller now & the added volume of 3s gives smaller players more opportunities to get 10+ rebounds in a game.

Lebron's durability is no question the best ever, and that is to be expected of future ATGs with the advancements in sports science & nutrition.

As for the rebound, the Lakers seem to have a rule that you give an uncontested rebound to LeBron. No one else is allowed to touch the ball in those situations. On top of that, the Laker scoring team will give him a rebound for any tap he makes at the ball. Like I said it's not about FGA or a stat like USG% but rather the amount of time these guys have the ball in their hands on offense on each possession. Also, pace is significantly higher in today's NBA and Lakers have been top 5 at it in all but 2 of the Bron seasons.

Kobe and MJ mostly played a traditional SG role. The one year MJ didn't in the 80s he averaged 8 assists a game and that's when he was stat chasing on a mediocre team. Bron's longevity is GOATed but he was also very lucky to come at a perfect time for a player of his build. The increase in 3PA and pace has helped him age gracefully.

While there is no definitive rule on how many dribbles are allowed for an assist to count, it appears that the consensus is if the pass leads to a score in 2 or less dribbles, it counts as an assist.

No I'm saying you're more likely to get assists if the ball is in your hands a lot on every possession. You ever played 2K or NBA Live? That's how some of these modern guys play the game. Well that much is obvious isn't it? Holding the ball mods gives more chances for assists the same way shooting the ball more gives more opportunities for scoring. It sucks that this even has to be said out loud lol. Yes Kobe and Jordan could average more assists if they held the ball more, but they also could have more assists if they passed instead of shooting as much. Lebron could have had more big scoring games if he didn't take his foot off the gas and pass more after a big half. It is what it is.
