I remember books about UFO’s, Roswell, Bigfoot, Bermuda Triangle, JFK, and paranormal shit like ghosts being in my elementary school library as a kid in the early 90’s.
I literally learned about conspiracy theories from my public school.
Hella entertainment industry conspiracy theories going back 60 plus years.
Paul’s dead, Elvis is still alive, all the Jim Morrison Lizard King shit, Jimi Hendrix and Bryan Jones were murked out by their managers, the government killed John Lennon, Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain, all the Tupac and Biggie shit.

Yes conspiracies have always existed. But at some point they went from being harmless fun, to having people like Doomsday who are now living in the "Matrix" and fearful of it all.
And like Maher points out, it has now become a way of communicating for Trump and politicians. When something doesn't go their way they simply play the "conspiracy" card and their dumb MAGA base eats it up. "The Deep State did it!".
