OKC in 5. An easy series, but I think they drop a game sleeping at the wheel. Edey gets 10+ offensive rebounds in the win.

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Series needs a big game from Edey to hold my attention.

Zach might legit break a bone in Chet's body. The Hartenstein addition was key for matchups like these.

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Memphis will get one at home where the refs let them get away with fouling but they're too undisciplined to keep up with a team like the Thunder. Also 0 wins vs. Playoff teams since ASB I believe so good luck.

Correct. It'd be a pretty big statement if OKC didn't do that, but I expect it. Obviously they are a way better team and will have no actual problems here though.

Yeah this. This is the biggest mismatch of the 1st round. The Grizzlies' record against good teams is horrible. The only thing that could stop OKC is if they choke and that ain't happening, in this round at least.

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Relative to his height Edey looks very solidly built, it's surprising how weak and clumsy he goes up with it in traffic. His dunk attempts are getting blocked routinely. Feels like he can only finish if it's completely uncontested. Hes also a huge turnover liability.
I didnt watch him in college but it sounded like everyone thought the big issue for him might be running up and down the court and defending at the pro level. Turns out the real problem so far is just basic offensive reliability.
He looks way in over his head right now. Unfortunately I dont know that motor skills are something that get that much better with time. I hope so for his sake tho. Im rooting for him.

Pippen Jr must be so annoyed he only grew to 6'1.

He gets flustered and the game starts moving fast for him, mentally, and then he starts to compound mistakes.
It’s pretty standard for a rookie to have these issues.
He needs to be able to be more comfortable. Have the game slow down for him and gain confidence/decisiveness.
He still has a lot of time.

55-22 wtf
No surprise everyone started eating once SGA went to the bench. OKC has the best role players in the league

Grizz 2/18 from outside. John Starks would be proud.

Thunder were leading the Grizz in Fastbreak points 17-0

This was my most uninteresting series when you mentioned the Bucks/Pacers.

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Half
Thunder 68
Grizz 36
Chet 9-8-1
Jalen Williams 14-1-5

Matchup wise in terms of a contest? Yeah. But watching OKC is fun, I enjoyed that first half.

No, in terms of blowout potential. Out of all the seeding I felt OKC had the biggest potential of blowing Memphis out of the water.
For me that's the most boring shit ever is a blow out. Even if the Cavs were up by 30-40 in the second half I turn off those games because it's a snoozefest.
We just define uninteresting differently. I like competitive games. This game is anything but that even with Thunder's great play. Even the crowd got bored somewhat compared to the start of the game.

All the day games today are gonna be boat races

What's a boat race?
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
The Thunder are beating the Grizzlies ass so bad that the crowd barely claps when they make a basket because they're so bored. :oldlol: They need a highlight dunk or something.
Memphis' coach thought the lineup from the first half worked so well that the adjustment he made for the second half was to send them back out there again and watch Edey get torched...again.

The last few minutes of garbage time with reserves yeah but when star players are destroying other teams, it's fun to watch. Granted SGA hasnt been the one laying the beating but there's been nice play. Plus this is the playoffs so it hits differently as the team being blown out are giving it everything, at least in theory.

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
OKC have players that just spawn out of the bench with randomly generated names that can mad hoop
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
3rd stringers gonna get burn in the whole 4th quarter.
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Morant doing the Luka Doncic with the complaining and letting his team get beat down the court in transition.
Why in the hell you gonna complain when you're down by 44? Look at your team's effort and yourself, not the ref.

It’s when a team gets an early lead and blows them out the whole way and it’s not even close

Why is that referred to as a boat race?
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Every Thunder starter plus a bench player is in double digits.
SGA: 15 PTS
Dort: 12 PTS
JDub: 16 PTS
Chet: 16 PTS
Hartenstein: 14 PTS
Wiggins: 11 PTS

Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
A 50 point lead is ****ing crazy in a playoff game.
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Morant casually just muddles around behind the back board in the crowd like's he's gonna cry from the elbow while his team plays 4-on-5.
Throw in the grenade and pull him and the starters out of there.
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Morant could only hit 1-of-2 three throws to cut to the lead to 49. They definitely aren't coming back now, they needed that second one.
Why is that referred to as a boat race?
I thought it had to do with speedboats but someone looked it up and it’s about some famous row boat race where there is a part where the channel narrows down greatly so whoever takes the lead during that part will
But when it’s used in sports it usually just means a big time blow out. An embarrassing game that was never really competitive.
-
Re: (1) Thunder vs. (8) Grizzlies First Round Playoff Series Thread
Bagley with the alley-oop dunk. Cuts to the lead to 46. Thunder coach don't like that, timeout. :oldlol:

Would any team in the league want anything to do with Ja if they decided to trade?
