No other player is talked about in this way where favored rosters are considered insufficient after choking or losing... No one said Curry needed more help during his down years - he simply built up another young player like Podziemski and Poole, or turned a loser into a winner like Wiggins.. And Lebron isn't even in a "down" year - he has Luka - yet everyone is saying his roster isn't good enough.. It's pure poppycock - every roster in the league has holes.

Ultimately, Curry develops young players and great chemistry because his skillset doesn't turn teammates into spot-up shooter like Luka or Lebron's ball-dominant skills do.. By turning teammates into spot-up shooter, Lebron prevents chemistry, elite roster construction and always needs more help..

Accordingly, Lebron is the biggest fraud in sports history and completely manufactured by the media.. Even Lebron's longevity feats are countered by negative longevity, such as the most missed shots ever, the most turnovers ever, the most missed FT's, the most Finals losses ever, and the most losses with preseason favorites (favored rosters), etc, etc.

Real answer (and I'm not sure why): Because they are also very weak defensively on the perimeter. Reaves and Luka are legit bad on that end. The Warriors could/can get away with it because they are very strong here and can harass ball-handlers.

When you play small you need strong perimeter defenders, otherwise you'll get killed inside. Hence why the Lakers, as currently constructed, need a rim protector to make up for their poor defense on the perimeter.

Curry is the most overrated player in history. He relies on today's high-screen, drive-and-kick strategy.

This strategy allows 3-point shooters to stand and wait for kickouts, thus adding to the attempts they get off-the-dribble or off screens - if Curry had to run off screens with a defender stuck to him like Reggie Miller had to do, he would barely get off 5 theees a game..

Curry actually took 5 threes a game for 3 straight years and was a 19 ppg scorer, but then the league strategy became the aforementioned 3-point contest, which allowed Curry's production to reach elite levels.

Ultimately, he's just a 3-point shooter, so he's 1-dimensional.

Denver has no perimeter defense, while the Lakers have Finney-Smith, Rui, Vanderbilt, Goodwin and Lebron, which is more than Cleveland as well.. The Warriors have an older Butler and Payton barely plays, so that's not much and similar to what the Lakers have... No team has elite perimeter defenders in their prime except OKC.

Needing a center is something that teams and media haven't said since the big man era of the 90's, but now it's become the latest excuse for lebron not winning super-tight games where he doesn't score in the 4th.. Tired legs don't explain 0 points in the 4th quarter and 0 in the last 17 minutes of 4th quarter action - it's literally impossible to win with the star doing that.. And there's plenty of depth but Luka and Lebron's skillset prevents the chemistry that allows Curry or Jokic to win with vastly inferior casts.

The Lakers lost 2 straight games in the 4th quarter because Lebron didn't score in the 4th... Period... All this BS about needing more help is unbelievable dumbness... He doesn't need more help - he just needs to play 1/1000 as good as Jordan.

They have some depth but the coach doesn't trust the bench enough to even rest his stars for a few minutes in the 2nd half when playing against a younger star duo in Ant and Randle.

If the Nuggets can find a way to rest Jokic in these games despite having NO bench (he did play the whole half in Game 4 against the Clippers and they collapsed but he's in his 20s) the Lakers can afford to rest Lebron a few minutes to start the 4th UP 10 POINTS man. It's not a Denver situation where Lebron has an insanely high net rating and they suck when he sits, they've been great in the non-Lebron minutes all year but all of a sudden Playoffs roll around and they don't want to take the guy off.

This is where hiring your podcast buddy to be your HC is an issue. JJ said they made the decision to play their starting 5 the entire half (which hasn't been done since the 80s) in the locker room at the halftime of Game 4. I bet you Lebron had a say in that decision. JJ is a promising new HC in the league but you gotta sit your 40 y.o star for a little bit when you're up double-digits after he disappeared the game before in the same exact spot.

What's even crazier is that Lebron has a -10 Net Rating in these Playoffs. Blown out in the minutes he's been on the court with a 115 ORTG to a 125 DRTG. When he's sat the offense has been terrible but it's not like the Wolves have done better so they've been able to play neutral without him in this small sample size. All the signs pointed to JJ needing to rest him at some point in the 2nd half and he chose not to do it, even though they were up.

He scored 11pts in the 4th in game 3 while scoring 9 straight on consecutive 3's.

Green is one of the greatest defenders of all time, though.

Imagine Lakers having him defend every position when need be and also orchestrating the offense 4 on 3 when Luka is hard doubled.

James and Doncic don't fit; Pelinka should have known this but he's not a strategic thinker. He knows how to talk- not build a franchise.

As far as the Warriors, we've always relied on a center to date- setting hard screens and rebounds- Zaza, Bjelica, Bogut. We don't have one this year and if we win it'll be a fluke that we could pull this off without one. We saw how disastrous pure small ball was last game vs Houston, when twin towers were rebounding and scoring at will.

Your take on LeBron is too severe to take seriously.
