joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
Biden Defends His Mental Acuity and Blames Sexism for Harris’s Defeat
On ABC’s “The View,” the former president dismissed reports that he had declined while in office and said he had not been surprised that Kamala Harris lost the election, citing the role of sexism.
Former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. defended his mental acuity during an interview on Thursday and blamed sexism, the coronavirus pandemic and his struggle to provide Americans with short-term results for President Trump’s return to power.
Mr. Biden’s interview on ABC’s “The View” was his first on American television since his presidential term ended in January. His public re-emergence — he also sat for a BBC interview that aired Wednesday — comes before the imminent release of books expected to be critical of his sharpness and his ability to have sought re-election last year.
“They are wrong,” Mr. Biden said of reports that he had declined in his final year in office. “There’s nothing to sustain that.” He later added: “The only reason I got out of the race is because I didn’t want to have a divided Democratic Party.”
Mr. Biden said that while Democratic leaders and donors wanted him to drop out after his poor debate performance in June, the party’s rank and file did not — an assertion that runs counter to polling both before and after the debate.
“The Democratic Party at large didn’t buy into it,” he said of the push for him to quit the race. “But the Democratic leadership and some of the very significant contributors did.”
As Mr. Biden sits for interviews, his party is not exactly longing for his presence as it tries to fight Mr. Trump’s attempts to dismantle large parts of the federal government and the international alliances of which Mr. Biden remains proud. A host of ambitious Democrats vying for influence ahead of the 2028 presidential primary race have been discussing ways to cast the party in a new light.
None of them have been particularly eager to revisit Mr. Biden’s decision to seek re-election or to explore why former Vice President Kamala Harris was unable to defeat Mr. Trump. Mr. Biden, however, offered thoughts on both subjects.
He said that he “wasn’t surprised” that Ms. Harris had lost and that she had fallen victim to sexist attacks.
“They went the route of the sexist route,” Mr. Biden said of the Trump campaign and other Republicans. “I’ve never seen quite as successful and a consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman couldn’t lead the country, and a woman of mixed race.”
Mr. Biden also said a pandemic hangover had altered Americans’ relationship with their government in a way that was not fully appreciated during the presidential campaign.
“I think we underestimate the phenomenal negative impact that Covid had and the pandemic had on people, on attitudes, on optimism, on a whole range of things,” he said.
He acknowledged that his White House had not done an adequate job of delivering immediate results and had instead focused on longer-term projects like his infrastructure and computer chip legislation.
“Well, we made a lot of commitments and we — you know, billion-dollar tunnels going through for Amtrak, bridges, so on, but we weren’t quite as good as he was about advertising it,” Mr. Biden said, referring to Mr. Trump’s constant sales pitch. “It doesn’t say, ‘Biden brought you this.’ There’s nothing saying, ‘The Democrats brought you this.’ And we knew none of this would occur for another six months to two years. It takes time to do all that.”
Mr. Biden dodged a question about whether he would have defeated Mr. Trump had the former president not abandoned his campaign last July. But he did accept some responsibility for Ms. Harris’s loss.
“Yes. I do, because, look, I was in charge and he won,” Mr. Biden said. “So, you know, I take responsibility.”
While Mr. Biden offered a somewhat familiar defense of his legacy and his ability to serve as president, his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, offered more aggressive pushback. Joining him in the interview, she attacked journalists who have written books about Mr. Biden and others who have said he was a diminished figure as his White House term concluded. She also denied reporting suggesting that she had been overprotective of him.
“The people who wrote those books were not in the White House with us,” she said. “I was with Joe day and night. I saw him more than any other person. I went — woke up with him, I went to bed at night with him. So I saw him all throughout the day, and I did not create a cocoon around him.”
who's this guy kidding? we all know joe could hide his own easter eggs and still be hunting all day for them. it's also no surprise that the democrats are still clutching onto and blaming identity politics for their shortcomings.

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
Like I said in the other thread, democrats love to lose.
They campaign on the fact that this is a deeply racist and sexist country, yet their solution was to nominate a brown skinned female for president. The exact type of person they claim puts them at a political disadvantage.
And who do they claim they have waiting in the wings? AOC, another brown skinned female.
How else do you explain this level of self harm? :oldlol:

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
He's not lying, the Republicans ran on a campaign of women being inferior to men, but the country was so repulsed by a black person becoming president, droves of white women voted for them anyway.

If the democrats knew all this going in, why would they nominate a brown skinned woman as their candidate???

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
Obviously it played to some degree, to say that of all the millions of votes that none of them were biased would be burying your head in the sand. The only question is how much of a degree it played.
Trump ran 3 times, and the only time he lost was to a white man.

Nobody said this at the time when she was running though. Democrats assured us she was the best choice and the most fit to beat Trump. She was smart. She was experienced. She was more than just a DEI hire.
I don't recall a single democrat objecting that nominating The Cackler would put them at a political disadvantage. That only came out after she lost and got embarrassed.

Was racism & sexism enough for Trump to win every single swing state and even the popular vote? It would be a massive stretch to argue this was the case. Kamala was a laughably bad candidate and part of an unpopular administration regardless of her sex or gender.
He also would've beaten a white man this time around if Biden had stayed in the race.

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
She wasn't nominated, she was thrust in due to being the VP.
Had Biden's VP been a younger white male, Trump might have lost. If you don't think that is at least plausible, you don't understand the stupidity of the general public.
-
Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
DNC strategy was perfectly fine.
Everyone is just racist and sexist.

Why was she "thrust" if she was such a risky candidate??
I thought you guys said this was most the high stakes election ever. I thought you guys said Hitler was on the ticket and that democracy itself was at stake.
If you think a younger white guy would have had a better chance, why didn't you guys "thrust" one into that position instead? :oldlol:

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
did someone say... "thrust" in regard to kalamala?

...not that i would. well, maybe i would under some dire circumstance.
...moreso in reference to her climb up the political ladder.

Like I said, if you could read, it was because she was the VICE PRESIDENT, who's main roll is to be the replacement President. Anyone else would have required a vote in.

But surely you must have known that Brandon's health was questionable back even during 2020. How could you not allow for the possibility that he would have to step down at some point?
Isn't that the whole reason for choosing VP? Why didn't Brandon and the democrats choose someone they were confident handing over the reins to? Wouldn't choosing a brown woman undermine their entire agenda? :oldlol:
When Brandon embarrassed himself at the debate and it was obvious the democrats were going to demand he step down, there was a real debate being had in the party. Not everyone was all in on The Cackler. Barry didn't even endorse her until the very last minute. So don't act like there wasn't any other option. If the powers that be wanted someone else in that seat, they would have put someone there. You guys wouldn't have objected to it whatsoever.
It's just really, REALLY odd that democrats put all their hopes on a brown skin female when they know the only way they can win an election is to win over the evil racists.

Regardless who or what the VP was under Biden, they still would've been woke AF and in favor of the over 10mil illegals that were let / flown in.

When Biden was elected, everyone thought that Kamala would have to step in as the POTUS at some point. :facepalm
Probably multiple threads about that in here.

So then aren't you defeating your own argument?
If you guys knew that Brandon would end up being replaced by his VP, and you knew that the country was racist and sexist and would never fully get behind anyone who wasn't a white male, why of all people would Brandon and the democrats choose The Cackler? Especially with the stakes being so high. She wasn't even popular in 2020 and was one of the first candidates who had to drop out during the primary.
It just doesn't make sense unless of course you're telling me the democrats wanted to lose.

“Hilary would have won if america wasn’t sexist!”
Then pick Kamala as VP knowing Biden is hanging on by a thread.
“Kamala would have won if america wasn’t sexist!”
2028 pick AOC and after she loses…. I wonder what they will say

Democrats in reality are just overgrown theater kids. They know deep in their heart that they don't believe half the things they say, but they have a role to play and it makes them feel good so they carry on in spite of it.
Politically speaking, The Cackler's race and gender only worked to her benefit. It's the only reason she was chosen in the first place. The democrats wouldn't have chosen her in a million years if they honestly thought it would put them at a disadvantage.
But democrats say things they don't mean all the time.

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
MAGAS would rather vote for the convicted felon and adjudicated rapist before they would vote for a black woman.

Re: joe biden won't go away and blames sexism and racism for kamala's loss.
I saw clips of him on The View. There were several times where they'd have to basically finish his sentences for him because he couldn't string them together coherently. If I'm being blunt he should just retire from politics and enjoy the rest of his life with his family and stop wasting his life and memory going on shitty shows like The View.

AOC will not be president. Know why? People like me. I no longer vote and didn't in 2024 nor 2020 but I would absolutely get out to vote against that moron.
She also stands no chance on a debate stage whatsoever. It will literally never get down to her being one of the two major candidates ever.

Of course. Her and the progressives are on borrowed time, they just don't know it.
AOC is being allowed to thrive only because she doesn't have a true challenger yet. The democrats are without a leader and you have multiple people and factions trying to gain favor.
When it comes time for AOC to step in the ring, all of her flaws and all of her ridiculous positions will be exposed for all to see and she'll take the entire progressive wing down with her.
Just wait until the primary and the moderator asks "What is a woman?"
Progs are convinced they represent some bubbling majority but they're going to find out really effing quick how unpopular they are with normal voters. Then hopefully we can exterminate the movement for good.
