Using the KD Warriors is not an excuse for LeBron losing
People talk about how LeBron was so dominant but it wasn’t fair that he had to face Kevin Durant.
Yet the Rockets took the Warriors to game 7 and had a good lead but CP3 got hurt and the Rockets missed 27 straight 3s. The Rockets had the Warriors. They didn’t win. But the Cavaliers cannot use that as an excuse when they couldn’t even win more than 1 measly game. DAM. LeBron also had Irving and Love. Plus all the 3 point snipers he acquired in Korver and Frye.
So don’t start yapping about how it wasn’t fair when it was fair for Houston. The Cavs almost got swept.

I think he's talking about KD Warriors in general. Lebron had 2 series and only won 1 game which definitely was a disappointment because they came up short at home in close games where KD hit the dagger 3 both times, the second one was just ridiculous to be fair but the first one he just nailed it in Bran's face in a series that should've been closer.

Well it’s kind of important because he’s talking about the Rockets specifically but the 18 Warriors team wasn’t quite as good as 17.

Re: Using the KD Warriors is not an excuse for LeBron losing
Even casual basketball fans know that Kyrie is on Curry's level in the Finals, or even higher...
And Love was once a franchise player and considered far better than Draymond - he was just stuffed into a 3rd option role.
So it's always been a fraud by the media to pretend that the Warriors had more talent - the Warriors without KD were +2800 in the 2015 preseason and no one thought they had a good roster... But then Curry won 70 games with that crap and suddenly they're "stacked"... It's just not true.. Curry was carrying that team as the only unanimous MVP... Curry simply gets no credit for winning 70 games with an underdog cast of "others" and low producers.. For example, Klay was a much lower producer than Hornacek (previous post).

I think that's debatable. Steph missed 31 games in the RS in 2018 and they only won 9 less games than the year before. Still played at a 66-win pace with him healthy & the ORTG with him on the court was better than the year before.
2017 was an easier road to the Finals due to Kawhi's injury but that series goes 6-7 games if the injury doesn't happen so I'd say when healthy they were just as good.

The 2015 Warriors were +2800 in preseason odds, so no one thought they had a good roster, and they had a sidekick that produced less than Jeff Hornacek, yet Curry carried them to 67 and 73 wins..
So the Warriors were a trash cast that was carried by Curry, while Lebron had the only super-team in the league and the preseason favorite.. The Cavs were the only team with 3 franchise players team-up on 1 team (super-team)..
But despite Lebron's roster advantage, no one thought the Cavs could win because they barely won 50 games with the preseason favorite and didn't play great basketball.... However, no one anticipated the unprecedented help of a sidekick outplaying the MVP, or the suspension of Draymond... It's common consensus that the Warriors win in 5 games without the suspension.
In contrast to.people giving the Cavs no chance, people thought MJ could carry the Bulls over the 88-90' Bad Boys - they thought he would average 40 to win like he did in prior rounds... Jordan's 40 ppg looked so much more dominant than Lebron's 25 ppg, so they thought MJ could continue carrying the Bulls like he did in prior rounds... No one anticipated the Bad Boys "holding" MJ to 30 ppg .. People would've known that 30 wasn't enough to win.

He only looked to stack the box score and laid an egg when Mozgov put up peak Pau numbers at home with a chance to go up 3 - 1 lol. 20 points on 7/22 FG & 5/10 FT while his big man gave him 28/10. Yikes. Only shot over 45% when he had Kyrie in Game 1 as well then after Kyrie got injured he shot 38% the rest of the series.
No one's impressed by him chucking 33 shots a game to average 36 on sub-40% shooting. Sorry.

It was so impressive that LeBron got 4 of the 11 Finals MVP votes despite his team losing. Legendary series for him.

Lebron played exactly like the worst versions Iverson or Westbrick in the 15' Finals (horrific efficiency and zero defense), yet LeMeda gives him credit for it... No one else does tho.. Hundreds of players have carried a team to loss in 6 games.. There's nothing special about it at all, except him playing worse than Iverson or Westbrick and getting credit for it (historic double standard)

You put way too much stock into preseason odds. Newsflash, they dont matter as much as you want them to. You know why the Warriors had such long odds? They weren't THE Warriors yet. They needed a philosophy shift and an alltime great coach to become the team that was favored and won 72 games. Kinda like the Bulls needed a similar philosophy change and all time great coach (amongst other things) to stop getting ram-rodded by teams like Detroit. Before the changes the only thing Mj carried was L's at a 1-9 ratio.....

Phil was a 1st time nobody coach when MJ won in 1991
Phil needed to win 72 games to get COY with Jordan
So you don't know what you're talking about and are making stuff up 30 years later.
And preseason odds matter if there's a trend.. In this case, Lebron's teams barely win 50 games with the preseason favorite, so they fall to Finals underdog every year.. So his Finals underdog status is due to bed-wetting the regular season (bad basketball), and not the roster, since the roster is initially favored as the preseason favorite.
Hope that helps...And I would stop watching so much TV so you don't get fooled by these false narratives (aka "b-b-but Lebron's teams were always Finals underdogs!!!!").. lol

Re: Using the KD Warriors is not an excuse for LeBron losing
LBJ himself had a SUPER TEAM with LBJ-Kyrie-Love in CLE.
This 2017 and 2018 GSW is the first SUPER TEAM LBJ's SUPER TEAM lost to.
They also lost to a very solid, good, GSW, non-super team in 2015 and 2014 SAS and 2011 DAL.
