He made a move from the elbow on offense last night that was shockingly quick. Like, quick for a SF.

If this guy doesn't get DPOY then there's something wrong.

Says the guy who thought Morant should have won MVP one year.

You sound bitter, desperate, and dumb.
In 2022 he was 27/6/7 and led his team to second seed in the west. He was absolutely in the conversation for MVP. Of course then he got injured and ended up only playing 57 games, so it was moot. You were just upset because Morant totally sonned your hero LeShrivel - who just happened to lead a super team to the lottery that year. :lol
But go ahead, I'd love for you to try to make the case that Wemby is not looking like a DPOY so far. Show off that IQ of yours.

Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
That's cute. Jokic was at 27/14/8 on much better efficiency. Embiid was at 30/12/4
Morant didn't even finish top 5 in that MVP voting. He missed like 25 games.
Speaking of missing 25 games, his team went 20-5 without him that year.
This is your MVP???

^Bitch is SHOOK.
I see what's going on. Trying to distract from his low IQ take, because he knows that Wemby is already better than prime Lebron. Yep, bitch is most definitely shook.

Nobody is "shook", you're just really, really dumb and really, really confident that everything you think and say is gold with no room for uncertainty. It's very likely that if you got tested, your IQ would be in the double digits.

He should and likely would have gotten it last year if he made the 65 cut-off. Its hard to imagine a more impactful defender over the next decade so the all-time DPOY award mark is his to take, but no doubt the league will do the 'we're bored od voting for this guy' thing a few ttimes. Frankly its not out of the realm he does MVP/ DPOY/ this year and be like top 3 in PPG/RPG. I got Luka for the scoring title but he needs to obviously hit the 65 game threshold( and already out in week one :facepalm).

He would have easily won DPOY last season if he didn't get injured. A healthy Wemby should win DPOY for the next 10 years or so given there isn't anybody in the league who provides his defensive impact, but there will be a few years where the voters will get tired of him and give it to someone like Amen Thompson or Mobley. That's just how the league runs.
I'm still amazed Duncan never won a DPOY, they gave it to Camby over him one year just because he led the league in blocks.
-
Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
He will win DPOY 10x in a row if he stays healthy and the voters are honest. We know the voters won't be honest, so some dumb ****** that has aesthetically impressive defensive plays that doesn't have half the team defensive impact will win once or twice in there but if the guy has another 10+ years in him he should win DPOY every single year unless he gets hurt or stops caring.
He should also be 10x MVP but we know for sure the voters will lie so they can talk about someone else instead of letting that happen.
He's already the most valuable player in the league and it's not remotely close, provided he stays healthy.
He's the best player that ever played already. GOAT status is in the conversation but remains up in the air because too many things have to break right and he has to stick around.

Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
Basketball courts look much bigger on TV than they do in person at games. Much wider, but they're really not. With his length and quickness he can pretty much cover space instantly.

They are plenty wide. The problem is Wembanyama. Nobody has ever existed that can consistently cover the same amount of ground in the same amount of time and still go for a block. He is 1 of 1 in NBA history.
If they want to neutralize him in the league office, yes, they will have to make the court bigger and the three point line a bit further out but that will have even further detrimental impact on defense throughout the league.

I'm saying even when I went to games where normal pros were playing sitting behind the FT line looking vertically... the court is much slimmer than what you see on wide angle TV view. So it makes it even that more egregious with a freak like Wemby.
Also Wilt could pretty much do that too. I think they widened the court for him as well with the paint. Wilt had a little less length but he was faster stronger and could leap further at like 7'2.

Wilt absolutely could not do what Wembanyama could do. He just flat out couldn't. That's revisionist mythical Wilt bullshit.
And while the players were better than people give them credit for, overall they were substantially less athletic and smaller than today.
-
Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
And as far as the court size goes, it's a hell of a lot bigger when you're the one out there running on it as opposed to just sitting there and watching.

Yes he could athletically. Even moreso. Wilt had combine Olympic measurables at over 7 feet tall and was more muscular and balanced. Wemby has much better dribbling and shooting skill and more length but not a ton more. He would honestly get beat up 1v1 vs Wilt if they had to body each other, no flopping. Only way he'd win is shooting over the top which isn't athleticism based winning.
-

He definitely couldn't or he would have.
You are kidding yourself.
Wilt was fast af and strong af for his height and he had a higher vert for sure but he could not cover the same amount of ground in the same amount of time WHILE ALSO MAKING A LEGIT CONTEST OF THE SHOT like Wemby does. He is 1 of 1.
If he could have, he would have.
While perimeter shooting is far more common today, there has never been a rule against playing this type of defense.
The 3 point shot has been around since 1961. Wilt retired in 73. He had plenty of years to run at three point shooting.
-
Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
What do you mean if he could have he would have?
Wilt had triple doubles with blocks when they reviewed the footage. He was swatting shots left and right in an era where the blocked shot statistic didnt exist.
What are you smoking bro? I need some of it.

Having any type of serious discussion with people like you is frustrating because you randomly start saying things I didn't argue against.
I never said he didn't get a ton of blocks/undocumented blocks.
-
Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
You tried to make an equivalency between how many 3pters were taken in the 60s and 70s vs today and acted like you had an honest point.
"If he could've he wouldve".
:facepalm :oldlol:
Its not a diss to be compared to Wilt. Your fan girl-ism here is off the charts.
-
Re: "Spurs are the only team that it does not matter how you are playing defense"
Well I was mistaken about when the NBA added the three point line, nevertheless. Wilt was blocking shots near the basket. Wembanyama is blocking them all over the court. And you can't assume you're safe even if you have a ton of space.
Wilt could not contest the three point line like Wemby does while still being in the paint while the play unfolds. That's just reality.

The only person who is shook about Wemby is your pal 3ball. The same guy who said he would bust. :oldlol:
Wemby doesn't shoot, dribble or score as well as many other shooters or ball-handlers, so he doesn't have a skill advantage compared to his peers, while Duncan dominated the post better than his peers, so Duncan won right away.. Wemby will always be stuck trying to be guard, so he'll never have an advantage on his peers from a skill standpoint, or achieve the chemistry that Duncan did.
But he'll always be a great stat-padder, so you guys will hold on for a long time before you realize that putting an 8 footer so far from the rim is bad for chemistry.
Nice deflection. If you weren't shook, then you wouldn't get so triggered by Wemby already being better than prime Lebron.
Truth hurts.

Idk what it is about Bron haters and evaluating talent. You thought Morant would be the face of the league.

Yep, I thought he might. But then he made a bunch of dumb decisions and looks like he's already peaked out. But unlike a Bronie fluffer, I don't emotionally wrap myself around another dude. Jordan is the clear GOAT, but if and when Wemby passes him up, I won't be fuming and living in denial.
You on the other hand, can't even acknowledge the documented evidence that Lebron is the worst choker of all time. :lol Clearly a shook bitch.
