Sounds like an Embiid playoff game
Got him in a straitjacket!

nico gets the last laugh
Surely Luka took him to the post or started going off screens to mix it up , ot just got hot
never mind
OKC's defense is just that good. They've shut down everyone to start the season.

Caruso was the biggest difference in the Thunder becoming champions. Its insane he not only locked guys down at pivotal junctions but also shot like Curry from the field and deep, super efficient offense. You put Caruso on Denver, and Westbrook on OKC and nuggets would've won another ring.

Crazy that the Lakers won the chip with him and just let him go for nobodies. They shouldve kept the core they had with Caruso and build around that championship team. And then they even added Russ, the worst player in NBA history...

Also true. Lakers with Caruso long term mightve beat the Nuggets and won another chip. Hes a ridiculously valuable piece.

6'4 Alex Caurso locking up Jokic in game 7 was unreplaceable. I mean maybe westbrook could of did it too but im not 100% sure. Im 100% sure Alex Caruso will shutdown prime Joker though.
Why we are talking about Jokic or embiid in a luka thread? the world will never know
Luka has officially falling out of the top 10 mvp tracker list :oldlol:. That game was so terrible that even Jalen Duren at this moment in time is ranked higher than him
ya hate to see it :( #Lukamagic

He's probably the best guy to defend Luka in the league right now.
However, I am of the opinion that the best way to handle Luka involves making Luka work on defense as much as you can. Back in 2022, I remember the Warriors working a little more offense towards Wiggins, to give him an opportunity to tire Luka out (run him around screens, cut hard, guide him into picks etc...).
Caruso can do some of that, but a true Luka-Killer would be an elite wing defender and and elite off-ball player, on a team with no weak wing/big to hide Luka on.
Caruso is the everyone killer. When OKC made that move I was thinking this is almost unfair. They already had Dort who is one of the best 3 and D guys in the game then they add Caruso? Damn.

So far it's looking like one of the most equally-successful trades in recent memory. Giddey m8 is also becoming exactly the player Chicago hoped for when they made the deal.

Might have something to do with him missing games, and the sample size is still very small.
That MVP tracker means nothing. In no world are Chet and Hartenstein legitimate MVP candidates.
After getting shutdown by caruso I just can’t take Jokic serious anymore. He is just a regular season warrior who get his shit kicked in by a 22-year-old ant man or shut down in a game 7 by a 6’4 back up point guard. Dudes a joke. If he didn’t get lucky in playing one of the worst teams ever to make a Finals, he would be ringless. Hakeem has to play shaq in the finals, Dirk has to play the Heatles in the finals, and jokic gets to play bam outofthebayou….. and these rings are considered = to each other….just a joke.

Do you still take Embiid seriously after these games?

Al Horford used to get into Embiid back when that mattered. He was so tough on him that the Sixers gave him a hundred-million dollar contract (again, back when that mattered) thinking that would finally let them go on a championship run. Fun times.
Caruso with the rest of the Thunder behind him is a great combination to deal with Doncic but overall he's still about as good of an offensive player as there is in the NBA today. Very good chance he has the best offensive numbers of anyone by the end of the season, maybe James eats into his stats too much but I think James is ready to defer. The only guys I would rather base my offense on if I have to be heliocentric are Jokic, SGA (unlike Doncic no one I know of gives these two problems) and Wemby (when he is attacking the paint no one can do anything about him either).

6'4 Alex Caruso gives Jokic problems....so yes you do know ppl who bother him...Also embiid man handles him h2h. Also Myles Turner bothers him.
Shai use to struggle vs his cousin but i would say the best person at guarding him now is actually the most overrated defender in the league giannis....the one time he actually bothers someone no one even notices it

Such an embarrassing playoff resume. Thank god Embiid’s doesn’t look like that.
