The Narravtives game (Shai)
its always shai has the best team. so when he wins almost every game with his #2 out. wiggins randomly missing games, dort missing weeks, caruso missing random games, chet missing weeks, ect ect ect. No one says a word
Shai cant win without freethrows. He is down to only averaging 4 fts a game.no one says a word
Jokic makes everyone better...he actively makes cam johnson worse....not a word is said
Well imma say it....imma speak up....
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
He's a great player but the OKC team is stacked with talent so he's playing the game on easier difficulty and I'm an SGA fan. Incredibly consistent player when it comes to scoring. He averages 32 but like he gets 30 almost every single game and on similar efficiency. The depth they have on defense is more impressive than anything because they're 10 points per 100 better on D this year in the non-Shai minutes which just shows how good this team is playing right now, even with injuries. They also have an insane amount of good picks going into a stacked 2026 draft. They don't have to play as many close games because the 2nd unit can hold it's own as good as any in the league.
As far as the Cam Johnson point goes, he played on bad Brooklyn teams for a while and is adjusting to being a role player on a new team, too early to tell. The On/Off numbers with him on the court are still great despite his struggles on offense so their defense is looking much better (3rd right now).
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
now big jaylin williams, isiah joe, isaiah hartenstein, and cason wallace are too stacked to be starters....just admit you hate the man........ just admit it.
i cant stand jokic fans
a team full of backups is having the game on "easy mode".....do you read what these mfs say?
No muthafuka shai is the easy mode.....shai puts the game on easy mode for them! Anytime any of his teammates get stuck or dont know what to do next they throw the ball ot him and he bails them out.wtf is wrong with you. get off your knees for jokic...like sheesh its pathetic
Shai doesnt get bailed out he does the bailing!
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
Shai triggers people for some reason. They look for every excuse to not acknowledge him as the best in the world.

Better than Jokic?
He's for sure top 5, but I don't even think he's better than Luka.

I'd take SGA over Luka any day.
SGA vs. Jokic is hard to compare since they have very different strengths and weaknesses.
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
He doesn't have the best team. He has veritable nobodies on his team that have thrived under his leadership; very similar to how Curry turns these randoms into heroic role players who suddenly sink into oblivion when they're off the team.
SGA has this vulnerability and self-doubt that makes him such a great player. He just comes across as a guy who was never a shoe-in. Heck his teammates even yell at him somewhat regularly; which doesn't happen all that often with other superstars.
Nobody thought OKC would go anywhere, and even though now they've won a ring, I don't get the sense that people outside of the hardcore NBA fans know who he is or think of OKC as a dominant team.
OKC is a small-market team, that are ranked 20th in the league in payroll; in other words, in the back half of the league. I would love to see what other stars could do with that lineup and I think the reality is they would do very little.
I've debunked the whole SGA gets easy free throws line which is a lazy, unscientific criticism. You also can't underestimate SGA's commitment on D. OKC was the best defensive team apparently in a long time; yes it has to do with guys like J Wil, baldie, and others- but when your best player locks in totally on D like SGA does, he sets the pace for the rest. That's not something certain top players like Doncic and Jokic can say.

Yeah, everyone's either a fan of Jokic or Giannis or Luka, so they will look at any excuse to downplay how good Shai is. The FTs stuff is so overblown imo, but OKC is kind of a boring team to watch every night with all the blowouts, thus they label Shai as a boring player.
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
The reality is that SGA is a cheat and as much as I can admit he's a top 5 player on the planet and will go down as one of the best players of this generation I don't respect the way he plays whatsoever
It's insufferable to watch and a big reason why I don't watch the NBA anymore
Most players don't get away with this foul baiting flopping bullshit come playoff time so it didn't annoy me as much
But for some reason with SGA he gets protected by the refs more than any superstar I have ever seen since watching NBA in 2012
I can't stand him as a player he is a cheat who plays like the most bitch made ***** I have ever seen

Because he's a cheat
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
I like Jokic and Shai. I don't feel the need to like just one or the other.
2-3 years ago kblaze made a thread about SGA asking where we should rate him. There was some clown who said he didn't deserve to be rated because he's never been in the playoffs which i thought was ridiculous and argued with him a long time. Don't think that clown posts any more. I think it was bigshotbob.
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
He consistently foul baits in the most ridiculously egregious ways that clearly indicate he had no interest in even attempting a basketball play whatsoever because someone played good defense and was close to him.
Plus he's a raging closeted homosexual who literally swallows the semen of other men.
So no, I will never root for him.
I acknowledge that he's an elite player. It's the same thing with Harden. I acknowledge it.
Ok and? I have zero respect for either one of them and I'm glad Harden rotted in basketball hell. Unfortunately SGA landed under arguably the best GM the league has ever seen so he's going to get one or potentially many rings playing like an asshole.
The fact that he's not rotting away on a bottom tier treadmill running franchise is truly unfortunate indeed.

Better GM than Red Auerbach or Jerry West?

What's your opinion on Jimmy Butler? What about Jokic? KD?
All these mfers foul bait to an extent. SGA doesn't just foul bait to draw a foul, from what I see he draws the contact and also gets a shot off most of the time and a decent one, that's what stars are supposed to do.

Is this based on your daydreams or fantasies? Because he has a wife that would be out of everyone's league on this forum. Just curious if you have any reason for saying that.

Do you have an explanation why Reaves gets more FT's a game than SGA? Reaves doesn't have half the offensive game to get the defender into trouble. Or why Doncic has been shooting something like 30% more FT's than SGA?
I think you may not watch enough OKC games and don't understand SGA's offensive game. He pretty much opens all the options on the offensive end; he can go through defenders, around them, turn around, fade-away, step back, etc. You basically cannot guard every possibility and fouls are inevitable.

If you can't tell by his literal physical appearance, physical characteristics and mannerisms and the way he dresses himself, I don't know what else to tell you except you need to get older.
He's a closet case if there ever was one.
And wow do you ever really need to grow up if you think having a wife and kids means you're straight. You just need more life experience period.
Plus he picked another basketball player, aka as close to as masculine as you can get for a woman without being trans or a bodybuilder.
I've known multiple women over the course of my life that looked to be on the masculine side that were later devastated when their husbands came out of the closet 20 years later. The best worker I ever had was a 40 year old woman recently divorced who was super athletic and her husband left her for a man.
Even in 2025 there are a substantial number of people, especially men, that do not want to come out of the closet. The NBA has 0 openly gay players. You think there are 0 gay players in the NBA? Grow up.
Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
Saw the first video. Most of those fouls look correctly called by the refs. There were a few that were borderline but that the NBA's top players usually get. I saw very little foul-baiting. In fact, I see more from someone like Kevin Durant when he goes out of his way to drive directly into the retreating defender, and away from the hoop.
What strikes me the most are unprepared defenders who aren't anticipating the move correctly and are in SGA's space, or a weak last minute challenge where they make contact.

Yea some people really do just see what they want to see. That 4 minute video shows a guy which every move in the book.
He also made over half of the baskets in that video. I'm not sure how a move into a jumper, or a shot around the basket, could be considered "not a basketball move" when he's making the shot :lol
It's not like Harden used to do where he'd flail and throw the ball straight up or wildly in the general vicinity of the basket.

True.
There are plenty of examples in the video such as the one against the Heat (around 30 seconds in) where it's so obvious he has beat them to the position; the defender know he's beat and just runs full speed into SGA, not set in a legal guarding position at all.
Maybe his critics can argue it's not fun to watch him go to the line all the time, but he's not baiting these calls. He's just running circles around defenders.
In another one, Gobert clearly goes for the pump fake and prematurely jumps into SGA's space. Easy call.
Next one, McDaniels loses SGA, and wraps his arm around him and shoves him from behind. How anyone can think this is anything but an obvious foul from someone prone to losing his temper when he's beat, I don't know.
I can see where people get these opinions on SGA from- both announcers Richard Jefferson and Mike Breen are calling out SGA; or at least this video features all the times they seemingly got it wrong and assumed the foul was unwarranted. I look forward to when the announcers and refs are completely replaced with AI.

Re: The Narravtives game (Shai)
Yes he does have an extremely friendly whistle. But so does Luka, Brunson, and others. The issue is that on defense him, Dort and others are allowed to be much more physical. The disparity between the 2 is the problem.
And it can't just be that he's better at drawing fouls because even when the Thunder play vs those guys, The Thunder always have the whistle advantage.
