There are no 6'7" SG's in today's NBA, but tons in 1990, & almost no 6'6" SG's either
I just looked up all the SG's in today's NBA and none of them are 6'7", and only a couple are 6'6".. Many of the best SG's today are 6'3" or 6'4" like Norman Powell, Ant and Donovan Mitchell, or they're 6'5" like Booker, Lavine and Sharpe.
Otoh, the 90's had plenty of 6'7" SG's like Reggie Miller, Clyde Drexler, Dale Ellis, Dan Majerle, Reggie Lewis, Reggie Theus, Willie Anderson, Malik Sealy, Tony Campbell, and many more - this is all from the 1990 season.. There were also a ton of 6'6" SG's like Ron Harper, Nick Anderson, Michael Cooper and more
This is why everyone says Jordan would average 50 to today... Ultimately, previous eras were superior physical specimens and knew how to play real basketball, not today's "3ball" - a dumbed-down version of the game (hands-off, spaced-out, open paint beginner format)

How tall was the Jazz backcourt?
Starks, who was Jordan's biggest nemesis and matchup, was only like 6'3

I still think it's crazy we had VC, TMac and Kobe all at once. That is a lot of freak athleticism all at once, now we would be lucky to have one of those players with that level of skill and physical ability.

I'm going by bballref and the positions that guys are listed at this year, and STARTERS
There are currently zero starting SG's that are 6'7" or taller
Based on bballref
Those guys you listed are obviously listed as forwards this year

Thread Cliffs
Based on the positions listed this season on bballref, today's game has zero starting SG's listed at 6'7", and only a couple listed at 6'6".
The best SG's today are 6'3" or 6'4" like Norman Powell, Ant and Donovan Mitchell, or they're 6'5" like Booker, Lavine and Sharpe..
In contrast to today's game having zero 6'7" SG's, there were between 5 and 15 SG's listed at 6'7" each year in the 90's, and many more listed at 6'6".. For example, the 6'7" SG's in 1990 include Reggie Miller, Clyde Drexler, Dale Ellis, Dan Majerle, Reggie Lewis, Reggie Theus, Willie Anderson, Malik Sealy, Tony Campbell, and more.. There were also a ton of 6'6" SG's like Ron Harper, Nick Anderson, Michael Cooper and more
The average height for SG's in 1990 was 6'6" compared to 6'4" today.. Overall, the league average height today is 1-2 inches shorter than the 80's or 90's.

Best defenders against Jordan were Dumars, Moncrief and Payton. 6’3 6’4 and 6’4. With Jordan’s stopping power and leap off the stop for a jump shot, the extra inch or two was basically meaningless. Overall, as the 3 has become more emphasized, heights in the NBA have been trending down. Don’t know why this matters that much. Small ball has very often had its place in the NBA, including the 70s Knicks (and Bullets to an extent), Jordan’s Bulls, etc,,,

Because you actually have to list your real height now, unlike back in the 90's when you could add a few inches.

So im gonna ask the most obvious question: who gives a shit? Of all thos guys listed not even half of them could hold a cup of water. So being 6'7 isn’t some great advantage. Also things to consider. If you're 6'7 in 2025 youre likely a 3. Sf in the 90s were alot of times tall guys not heavy or strong enough for PF. Id imagine the size of Point guards now is greater than it was in the 90s as well. Little guys have a hard time in this era of the league.

Re: There are no 6'7" SG's in today's NBA, but tons in 1990, & almost no 6'6" SG's ei
There are plenty of "forwards" in today's game that would have been SGs the way 90s ball was set up.
Positions have changed. The pure shooting guard position in general just isn't really a thing anymore. You're either a guard or a wing, and most guards are combo guys. Somebody like Brandon Ingram is probably an SG in 1993.

So Embiid is a wing? Gobert? Even AD is still a "big man" - he isn't a guard or a wing, despite having a decent handle... Jokic?.. All these guys are big men... DeAndre Ayton, etc, etc
There are still 5 positions and I wouldn't consider Darius Garland to be a SG - he's a PG only... Mitchell is a combo guard, but we had tons of combo guards back in the 80's and 90's too.. There are plenty of hybrids but previous eras had that too... Schrempf, Rodney Rogers, Anthony Mason, Jamal Mashburn, Hill, Penny, Drexler, Rose, Pippen, Danny Manning, Van Horn, Mullin, Kukoc, Barkley, Shareef-Abdur-Rahim, Glenn Robinson, Antoine Walker, Steve Smith, and David Robinson was mostly a face-up guy with a great jumper and hidden guard handles - he was like a more talented/powerful Giannis... This is all from 97'... Kidd, MJ, Payton, KG, Duncan, Hakeem and many more
-
Full Court's stupid, gay poems in the otc are causing the site servers to malfunction
Who cares? International talents today are still a lot better compared to what the league saw during the watered-down 90s.

Obviously I wasn’t considering “bigs”. No I wasn’t insinuating that Zubac and Gobert are wings.
But even still, players aren’t smaller today. “Shooting guards” might be but point guards are significantly bigger. Bigs aren’t notably different either.
It’s tough to find proper data but 2024 was the tallest the league has ever been from what I’ve found.

2024 is the shortest the league has ever been:

Sorry, 2023.
I believe the average height that year was over 6'8. Tallest in history. Point is...positions have shifted and so do heights based on the ebbs and flows of whatever competitive advantage will exist.
The league WAS shorter for a few years in the late 2010s. You can thank your boy Steph and the Warriors for that and the small ball shit.

The data shows that the current NBA is shorter than it's ever been.
4 of 5 positions are the shortest they've ever been.. only PG is taller
So you're wrong, and anyone that can read can see this
Stop pretending
Accept that you never saw the goat and are now clinging to an old washed up player whose current level is top 1000 all-time - at least 1000 guys played better in the NBA than Lebron's current level

Probably got alot to do with mobility being more in demand than ever. But a guy who only really watches one player with a microscope wouldn't catch that.

Dyson Daniels & Duncan Robinson are both 6'7 starting shooting guards
