I've seen enough. Jalen brunson is pretty good at basketball
Be honest, is anyone actually watching this because they think the "stakes" matter or that it's "more intense" and the players "care more"?

Have not watched one NBA "cup" game ever and never will. If that means watching zero basketball those nights, then so be it.

I've seen more passion from Long Duck Dong posting brick wall political manifestos :biggums:
I'm looking forward to the Thunder/Spurs game. Not because of the NBA cup - just should be a good game. Both teams are fun to watch.
I skipped that first game. Going to watch the second one

They put these games on Amazon Prime instead of NBC?
This game's over already
Omg so the Spurs are literally the best team in the NBA. Excuse me while I jerk off
Wemby turning up for the first time in a month to break OKC's unbeaten run is the mid-season story we needed to see.
we have ourselves a ball game

ridiculous that had to be reviewed for a "reckless" closeout. then again, it is SGA...he is the CEO of the officials.
SGA lands at a 45 degree angle with his legs about 2 feet out from his center line and its a foul on the other team?
This guy is honestly one of the most unwatchable players ever. Its worse than peak Harden. At least he was exciting off the dribble and dancing around.

and the commentators are instructed to not criticize the obvious

Amen.

Dumb
How many possessions in a row to end the game ended in FT’s, 8? That’s just an unsatisfactory way to end a game imo.

Guaranteed your fakkit ass watched last night. You're I'm too cool to watch this game cause players don't care act isn't fooling anyone, Columbo.
Im sure you pounded a 12pk of hard ice tea watching and celebrating.
The fouling up 3 makes strategical sense but it's the dumbest fukking thing I have ever seen and totally ruined the ending of that game.
They need to rule that out somehow. Immediately.

Something we can agree on. It’s so unsatisfying as a fan.
I remember college teams used to always do it but it never happened in the NBA.

Agreed. It's basically winning via a technicality. No basketball purist can possibly say it's a good thing for the game and obviously is horrible to watch for fans.
Not a fan of either tem, but last night did not disappoint..... until that fouling sequence at the end, but I understand. If they can have more matchups like this going forward the game is in good hands. That game felt like it meant something and seeing multiple players with busted lips and red marks on them going into commercial breaks kind of confirm the competitive spirit this game had.:applause::applause::applause:
Caruso was livid after the game, but I guess he just ignores how the officials give him carte blanche on hacking big men.
OKC has now played exactly three games against legit competition (and I’m being generous to the Lakers). They are 2-1. After that, they have had an extremely weak schedule. They are an amazingly deep team, but still probably overhyped.
In last night’s game, the biggest impact was obviously Wemby. The Spurs were night and day depending on whether he was playing. By comparison, SGA had basically no impact, certainly less than Holgrem or Caruso.
If all goes well, the spurs might be the team who'd spoil okc's chances of defending their ring in the following playoffs.

Houston should had beat OKC on opening night.
