Who the F--- is Von Wafer? Does anybody know who is getting the better deal here? Who has more potential?
Laker fans thought Von Wafer was the next big draft steal a few years ago.

that should help you all out.

Not much. We all know neither of these guys have done anything yet, thats why I'm wondering about their potential. Is Von Wafer an expiring contract? That may be nice for the Blazers.
I like VOn Wafer, especially if you can get him for that cheap. I bet Kidd would like having him play alongside him. He's good. He needs to figure it out, put it all together, grow into his talent, and all those cliche phrases for somebody who hasn't lived up to their talent. However, he;s only 23

he is a rookie so i don't believe he is an expiring contract.
i guess we'll see how this trade unfolds as the season goes along, Wafer really wasn't given much of an opportunity here in Denver so maybe Portland will be a good place for him.

I was asking if Von Wafer was on an expiring contract, not Green.
I was asking if Von Wafer was on an expiring contract, not Green.
I was talking about Wafer.....:D
Wafer's not a rookie though. This is his 3rd year.

sorry i guess he did play for the D-league for two years, I don't think his contract is up though.
Taurean Green could be a steal for Denver.
Taurean Green could be a steal for Denver.
The funny thing is that even if he is a steal, there's no room for him on the Portland rotation.
Taurean Green could be a steal for Denver.
"could be" as in a .000000004 % chance?
Taurean is hopeless as a player when I've watched him, but he's a good guy in the locker room.
At this point you really can't question any move Kevin Pritchard makes. He doesn't ever make a bad move and knows talent. I mean if I were trading with Portland any one Kevin Pritchard wants I might want to hang onto. Green didn't know what he was doing out there at all and was developing very slowly.
I think this is a good deal.
Oh and to fellow Blazers fans we got rid of Green for this:

I think his athleticism makes him have much more potential than Green.
Here is Von Wafer's Identity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvyZ6ZxqFME
:oldlol: No way can there be a thread talking about Wafer with a mention of this.
Tauren was the 'glue guy' on those Florida championship teams, and like somebody else said, that's probably his only value to any NBA team....and I'm not sure how much impact a rookie can have in that regard anyway. I doubt he ever does much on the basketball court.
Does Von have attitude problems? I actually do remember reading something negative about him a good bit ago but I can't recall what it was . Not a huge deal either way...

I actually get the feeling that Pritchard got Von Wafer as a piece to move around in the off season. It'll be much easier to convince a team that Wafer makes a good second or third piece on a trade than Green.
Von Wafer is a cool name.
That is all I have to say about this trade.
And now, taking the court, VON WAFER!

he is perfect in every way. i heard he can turn water into wine and walk on water. hes also a 2 time defending scrabble tournament champion and knits sweaters for the homeless. and one time i saw him lift a two ton car over his head...i swear i saw it with my own eyes!!!

uh...yeah.... :oldlol:
nothing against von (good kid) but your homerism is just getting rediculous.
keep it coming kid...i enjoy reading it.

RoseCity tends to exaggerate a bit, but saying Pritchard is oen of the best GMs around is pretty close to the truth actually. Think about what he's done in the last few years, with trades. Who could have had the balls to trade Randolph for Frye, and then arrange a trade to aquire Aldridge? Or the trade he made that landed Roy in Portland?
Pritchard can't "do no wrong", but he's pretty damn good at seeing the uncut diamond and letting one of the contenders for COTY shape them into a glimmering finished product.
But like I said, I don't think Von Wafer was intended to build on Portland's team, I think he's intended to be traded in the off season.

Yeah this is pretty much the truth.
Despite RoseCity7's deep homerism, he's actually pretty dead on with the Kevin Pritchard comment regarding his ability as a GM.
The guy is very skilled and not afraid to pull a move.
i dont even kno who is T. Green.lol

An upgrade from Von Wafer, that's all you need to know.

Taureen Green is a rookie who played for the University of Florida. He helped lead the team to two NCAA titles as the lead point guard. He doesn't have an NBA height, but he is still quick enough to keep up with most guards and can hit the long ball (supposedly...). I actually think there's potential for him.

whoa. "von wafer" is black???? i had assumed without a second thought that he was some german player from overseas. how bout that.
I heard on the radio that Wafer's contract does run out this summer. So, enjoy your 2-3 months riding the Portland pine before you leave. It appears this trade was simple to have an expiring contract and opening a roster space (for Rodriguez!)
I didn't understand anything abaut this trade. Who will win or what tehy expect to win?
I didn't understand anything abaut this trade. Who will win or what tehy expect to win?
Portland got a roster spot at the end of the season, Denver got an upgrade on a bench roleplayer.
I'm a Portland fan and all.....but why is this thread at the top?! This was the least impactful trade of all!

agreed.
T. Green went to my high school his freshman year lol.

i know but its the comment "At this point you really can't question any move Kevin Pritchard makes. He doesn't ever make a bad move and knows talent" that had me laughing. nothing against pritchard. you should see him solve a rubics cube..holy **** hes fast!
Really then Nugzfan then your just an ball sucking idiot if you think KP isn't one of the best GM's in the league. Really just live the rest of your life being an idiot.

Why is it not okay for him to say "KP is an excellent GM but I still think he makes mistakes"? Everyone makes mistakes. In fact, I'd agree with that statement. Just because what KP has worked out is good, doesn't mean that what he could have worked out differently couldn't have been better.
Stop being a prick to other fans. If Portland ever takes a championship with this team I don't want fans like you ruining it for everyone.

Fans like me:oldlol: I bet you just started watching the Blazers when we got Roy and Aldridge. SMH at you thinking you trying to be all diplomatic like you know something, and do you think your going to get a ring when the Blazers win?
Just shut up.
