Just saw a clip of it and it looks like I'll be getting this game. Really havent liked the NBA Live series for some time now. But 07 looks nice and the features are ridiculous. Cant wait for that to drop.

same here. The last two weren't so good IMO
Finally a video game post that matters.
Any links?
What new features are they putting in?
I've played NBA Live 06 or 05 at a friend's house, and it was horrible. Almost felt like I was playing NBA Live 96 on Super Nintendo. No way Live ever catches up to the 2K series.
I'll find the link to it.

 NBA Live hit rock bottom lately.
I never played the 2K series in football or bball tho.
can't wait for the live 07 to come out. There are many new features and dynasty mode will be awesome.
I stop buying NBA live after I got NBA 2k....NFL 2k is good too, but Madden is better competition for that game....
NBA 2k is much better than NBA live because the game play is much more realistic... defense is almost impossible to play on live....
Rodman used to shoot 3's (and make em) on NBA live for crying out loud......
Yup, I'll be getting it the day it hits shelves. I have been a Live guy since Live '95. Yes, they had their ups and downs, but I think the only 2K game that was better than EA's was the original NBA 2K. Other than that, I haven't really been impressed with either series until Live '06. If you don't adjust sliders, or take away the superstar feature, then your not going to like the game, but if you mess around with all that stuff, the game becomes much more fun.
Can't wait till the end of Sept to pick this one up.

release date?
It looks a bit interesting to be honest. But still impossible to get a "feel" for the game by watching videos. It's going to take a whole lot for me to switch out of 2K6. I only switched out of 2K5 because of the shot stick. Unless there are major changes, I will never get another basketball game. I'll wait for the ratings.
release date?
The end of Sept I believe. Don't know the exact date. EA would tell you on their website.
Looks like the same old arcade-style game for the and-1 kids. Not impressed.
I like 05, the only difference between 06 and 05 was that in 06 people sweat and there are different players on diff teams. Ill be getting 07 too, looks pretty good.
i was always a big fan of the live series. 2k was always meh to me. ill def. be getting live07.
If my memory serves me correctly, I've never played 2k basketball, but the one time I played 2k football I hated it because the controls seemed really stiff and delayed compared to madden.
To those of you eyeing the Live bandwagon, come sniff the hay that the 2k series has to offer. It is simply better than Live these days. Speaking from an unbiased standpoint here, the people who I know that like Live more tell me they prefer it because it is Live, a brandname they are used to.
As for 2k7, I won't purchase it for awhile because I'll be in university and won't even be bringing my PS2 with me until around thanksgiving or something.
If you like true simulation, 2k is the way to go.
If you like that ****ty arcade type crap, Live is the way to go.
I have been playing live from 95 until 2003.
I remember I switched to 2k round 2003 coz whenever dirk was shooting a 3, live would make a missile sound. And there was a comet tail whenver there was a shotblock made.
On live you could play zone using shawn bradley and block players up until the 3 pt line. There was no drag and momentum on player movement.
"Use the analog stick to shoot"
...Gay?
Wow, EA is copying the 2k series so bad. Watch the first video that someone posted on the first page. Mapping moves to the analog stick like a fighting game? Already done in 2k. Shooting is done by analog stick....just like 2k. Battling for position is important? 2k has had that for years.
Live just can't compete anymore and has to resort to blatant copying. Too bad Live has the name cuz 2k is a much better game.

Well I hate to defend live, but that's wrong. The moves on the Analog stick was first done in NBA Live 2003 and 2K series COPIED Live
No, I meant like, say in 2k you want to go behind your back, you have do a semi circle motion from the side of the hand with the ball to the other side. Live had it where you just pressed a direction on the analog stick and you'd cross over to that side, or pull back on the analog stick and do a step back move. In 2k, you actually have moves that require skill to pull off in the right situations.
And Live certainly never had the shot stick, the greatest addition to basketball video games ever.
The Live series peaked in 2001 for me personally.
MY Live 2001 team:
CT: Shaquille O’Neal/ Keon Clark
PF: Shareef Abdur-Rahim/
SF: Pat Garrity/ Cedric Ceballos
SG: Bonzi Wells/
PG: Terrell Brandon/
I forget the rest, but man my team pwn3d. I made it so Pat Garrity was my best player.
I think haf way through the season (40ish games) Garrity had averages of:
28ppg
8rpg
6apg
1.5spg
1bpg
Shaq and Reef were both under 20ppg, but both were averaging over 13rpg.
It was a fun team. I might start plaing again and try and have a "Quad Seoson" with Garrity.
Do people really think 2k is better than live?
Maybe Im wrong but I bought the first 2K and the 2nd one and I thought that it was over for EA and then Live came on strong with the analog stick moves I mean compare Live 05-06 to the 2k series and its like night and day!
The 2k with Wallace on the cover is HORRIBLE and this Live 07 feature upgrade makes it unparallel in the market today
Can somebody give me some feedback please?:confusedshrug:

Both of them have analog moves. And gameplay is more important than features. NBA 2k gameplay is the most realistic, and I have a lot more fun playing it against my friends.

Huh? You can play in the 98 season?
It would be cool if games bought out "classic" titles updated. I'd love to play Bulls versus Blazers how the current games are formatted. So basically just the same , but old players and all the extras like dynasty etc.
Imagine taking the Celtics and building a dynasty with Reggie Lewis and Dee Brown? ;)
You'd have to buy the rights to use the players names though Ced. No one is getting Jordan's name any time soon; the first to get Jordan in their game will win the war between live and 2k unless something drastic happens like loss of funding.

That sucks.
But it would be cool though.
Imagine starting the game in 1984, and Being the Blazers and picking Jordan. That would be just sick.
People on fan sites have made the 98 season. It has almost all the the players and even most of the scrubs. They made customized cyberfaces and most of them looks great. Penny Hardaway is the most fun NBA player to play. His speed is amazing in his prime and has nash like passer rating. I've also downloaded the legend classic teams so I can play as Bird, Magic etc.

Thats awesome. I might need to upgrade my comp and get 07 on it.

I seriously do not understand you NBA Live fanatics. This is such a horrible franchise. Its almost a joke, like NBA JAM style, except false-advertising as simulation basketball. Sure, its really fun if you want to dunk AT WILL with Vince Carter and drain 30 three-pointers with Ray Allen. No defense in the game can stop any of these.
The facial construction of all the players is primitive at best. Compared side by side to NBA 2K, there is ZERO competition. NBA Live is raving about the "new" feature, where players will now look towards the ball. WHOOPIE!! NBA 2K freakin' hired actors so they could motion capture the signature shooting styles of every player in the league. AND the face texturing for some of the players (i.e. Shaq) is amazing, not to mention the sweat details, tats, fluid movement of jersey cloth and the glare of the jumbo-tron on the hardwood. Superior, thats all I can stay. In ALL aspects. I cant think of a single thing Live does better other than cram sh!tty extra features into the package...trying to salvage the horrible gameplay and graphical dynamics.
I have been a fan of live for a while but I am willing to check out the 2k7 series. Which game has a better dynasty mode?

I don't understand why 2k fans are always trying to convince people that 2k is better. Live fans DON'T CARE.
