Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Well Dyson is in a good new bad news situatuion. The good news is he may be able to play again this year, but the bad news would be his injury would be pretty much untreatable.
According to ESPN UConn has entered Renardo Sidney's top 5. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=43937&season=2009&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncb%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d43937%26season%3d2009
ESPN has also changed up some of their ranks, Oriakhi is #5 center and #19 overall, and Coombs is #4 SF and #32 overall.

They ran a story on JD's injury in the Hartford Courant yesterday or today, the days just blend together now. Anyway, the story looked at two possible options; 1). removal of the damaged meniscusm, which would lead to a quick recovery. Or 2). Repairing the damage area, which will lead to months of rehab and recovery. Coach Calhoun, likes option #2, which I like as well. Poor, JD.
I just read the specs on Alex Oriakhi; pretty solid post player for being undersized. The message boards and scouting sites speak highly of this young man. It should be fun to watch next seasons new husky puppies on the court.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Thabeet should start playing like this every game.

Heck yeah!! I caught the game on ESPU. Thabeet was having a monster game. When I saw the turnaround J, I was like dang!! Thabeet killed them on he boards. He was unreal today.
I hope this is the start of something good for Thabeet.

Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Here are Thabeet's stats since his breakout game against Providence.
PPG:15.8 RPG:14 BPG:7.2
These are over a 5 game period, in which he has 4 double doubles, atleast 11 boards and 4 blocks in every game. He is also shooting 67% from the field and is shooting 70% from the line. Those are some nice numers to say the least.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Why we lost (besides Dyson):
1.Thabeet foul trouble.
2.Looked like a bunch of pansies, especially you Gavin.
3.Those refs sucked. No need to get Blair an extra 10 fouls.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
This loss helps 100x more than a win would have. Hope we lose to PITT again. They need some smarts knocked into them.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Well, at least we know who we can depend on the rest of the season; Price, Walker, Thabeet (if he aint getting bad calls against him), and the best of the bunch Jeff Adrien. After that, I don't know who will step up for us. And the refs...... It is one thing to battle a basketball team, but to have to beat a team and refs, it makes your job that much harder.
Well, I am proud of the Huskies. We lost but they fought to the end. Good job, UConn.:applause:
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Huge oppurtunity for Hilton... Tyson Chandler traded from Hornets.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Enough Austrie. We need some more explosiveness.
PG-Walker
SG-Price
SF-Robinson
PF-Adrien
C-Thabeet

This lineup will be quick and explosive.

They did fight and that is a very good sign. A loss like this serves as a wake up to really good teams and then they go on a tear. Hopefully that is what will happen now. www.EZBets.com on that one.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Renardo Sidney will anounce on Sunday, choosing between UConn, UCLA, USC, Texas, Virginia, and Mississipi State.
Re: Connecticut Huskies fan thread
Scout boards are saying Sidney is most likely going to be a Bruin... oh well. We haven't had a major signing since Kemba Walker and we don't really have a head start to the 2010 class... I trust that JC knows what he is doing though.
