mikan better get in that top 20 of yours
Baylor. Should've been Baylor > Barkley > Malone.
what number are you thinking about going up to? the first 15 are probably the consensus (order aside), but the last two are by no means universal (I'm not sure about KG at 16, but I have no problem with that)
you're going to 25 I guess?

Is that a vote for Mikan?

Top 100
Elgin, Pettit, or Dirk...decisions decisions.
Elgin Baylor.
Dirk Nowitzki.
Top 100
lol damn
it's hard enough for me to vote now, not sure how I'll pick guys later
I really have no clue who to pick here, but these are the guys I'm considering:
Baylor
Dirk
Pettit
Pippen
Rodman
Thomas
Wade
they probably round out my top 25 in some order
George Mikan
for people picking Mikan, do you think he would've been the same player had he entered the league after the advent of the shot clock?
Baylor
Baylor. Should've been Baylor > Barkley > Malone.
I don't think Baylor is better than Pippen, who hasn't even sniffed a vote yet
I'll go with Zeke
for people picking Mikan, do you think he would've been the same player had he entered te league after the advent of the shot clock?
He would have been better. They used to stall Mikan by keeping the ball away from him. Even wih the edition of the black player, he wouldn't have suffered. Dolph Scheyes was great in both eras.
I am gonna go with wade because of his finals performance
Pettit, Baylor, and Mikan belong in the top 20 imo, but that's not going to happen on this list since there's 2 spots left in the top 20. Either one of those guys are deserving, along with a couple of others like Robinson and Dirk maybe.
I vote Bob Pettit
NBA Champion
2x NBA MVP
11x All-Star
10x All-NBA First Team
He had 50 points and 19 rebounds in the Finals Game 6 clincher to win the '58 Title over Bill Russell's Celtics. Pettit also has been top 5 in MVP voting 8 times, and won the first NBA MVP award.
If Dr. Js ABA career isn't being factored in, then theres no reason IMO he should be that high. And if it factored in, he should be much higher IMO.
If Dr. Js ABA career isn't being factored in, then theres no reason IMO he should be that high. And if it factored in, he should be much higher IMO.
that sums it up pretty well
with ABA he's probably just outside the top 5; without it he's fringe top 30 at best
I guess people just split the difference? :confusedshrug:
Baylor. Should've been Baylor > Barkley > Malone.
Correct.
The list started off well but the lack of Elgin Baylor nominations is criminal and taints the list.
Baylor
Elgin Baylor then Dirk.

It's going to get hard after the top 25 because you will have a huge group of players that don't really have that much over everybody else.

that's why I'm trying to come up with some objective criteria
problem is, when I do that I always end up with 9 of the top 10 and something like 17 of the top 20 players as bigs
I think what I need to do is carefully study the rule changes:

and rewatch tape

david robinson

Horsecock Nowitzki
Baylor? Pettit(who?)? Robinson? Dirk carried his team to a title without any other HOF player playing at an elite level which is something only a few guys in the history of the NBA can say. a Decade of consecutive 50+ win seasons while being the only player on those teams year after year. Now this is a guy you can build a winning atmosphere around. One of the biggest dongs to ever play in the NBA.
Dirk Nowitzki, he should have been ahead of Barkley really and David Robinson should have as well.
Elgin
# 19 of ALL TIME - ANDREW BYNUM

THE GOD!!!
I think baylor was like top 12 on the last 2 slam tp 500 all time lists.
On ish he might not be top 20
For a guy who averaged 27/14/4 career with 10 first team all nbas and 7 nba finals
Lol... Yall dumb
Kobe is above better players because he has more rings. That doesn't seem to apply to Dirk.
:lol
Kobe is above better players because he has more rings. That doesn't seem to apply to Dirk.
:lol
The thing about ring value is. Its not a fluke if a star wins 4-5 rings. You can get lucky once sure. Maybe even twice. But 5 times? Maybe as a role player. But not as a star averaging 25-30
And kobe is one of the most skilled players ever And the most accomplished. So i dont really understand why people insult kobe by saying its just the rings.
Yea, this list has turned into a "What's your favorite NBA player from memory?" list. Shame.
Barkley over Baylor and Pettit? :oldlol:
Next I'm sure we'll be seeing Zeke, instead of the aforementioned players or David Robinson
Oh ISH.
Baylor
John Havlicek.
Bynum.
Dirk

Elgin Gay Baylor...but its blasphemous to have him this low.
