Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Result of the DJ block?
On the shooting hand too, tough break...but how is a torn ligament day to day? Torn ligaments never get better only worse without surgery.

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Bulls by 20 if no Kobe.
But shit won't be fun...
The failed Chris Paul trade, the departure of a trusted teammate and the dissolution of a decade-long marriage.
If that wasn't enough, the hits keep coming for Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant. The Lakers announced on Wednesday that Bryant has a torn ligament in the wrist on his shooting hand and will not play in Wednesday night's exhibition game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Bryant played 30 minutes in Monday's 114-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, tallying 22 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and committing 7 turnovers.
The Lakers open their regular season on Christmas Day, hosting the Chicago Bulls at Staples Center.
Bryant, 33, did not miss a game during the 2010-2011 NBA season. He's missed just 16 combined games over the last six seasons.
Eric Gordon had torn ligaments in his hand/wrist last year and I don't believe he had surgery either.

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Here we go another year for the NBA media to tell how tough Kobe is and his pain tolerance is on a whole nother threshhold level.

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
LOL we are destined to have a terrible season :oldlol:

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Many times, torn ligaments in your hand/wrist/ankles don't require surgery. Pretty sure he torn ligaments in his ankle too and never got surgery.

I tore all the ligaments in my left ankle when I was 15 and never had surgery but I did have to do a ton of physical therapy and rehab to get the strength back and it still is so weak now and I'm 23. When ligaments tear, they never fully heal back on their own. Broken bones on the other hand generally heal back much stronger in the spot where the break was.
I remember seeing this play happen in the game. He looked to hit it on the backboard then land on it hard too.

wrist ligaments can easily mean injuring a ligament that controls your fingers..
basically = not bieng able to move fingers 100% on your shooting hand.

Damn that's crazy... sorry to hear dude. Will be interesting to see how Kobe rebounds, especially because it's on his shooting hand and we know he likes to shoot a lot :D .

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Well it seems as though Stern's trade veto has swayed the curse in the Lakers favor. This is going to be a ridiculous season.
-
Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
At least you will get someone good in the lottery or you can trade the pick.

I was hoping Kobe would break a finger or two. We always win championships when he does that.
-
Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Damn.
He should just rest. He's already got ****ed up fingers, an ankle that's prone to injury, and bad knees. The last thing he needs is the wrist on his shooting arm becoming a liability.

Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Dr. Klapper added depending on severity of injury Kobe might only miss few days.
Re: Kobe tears ligament; day to day
Kobe's only going to miss a few days regardless of severity. :oldlol: I would like to see him sit out though.
