BTW, Klieza signed for 2 years at 8.6 million euros net income. He is the second highest paid player in Europe behind Childress who makes 4.7 million euros net income per season.
Childress' NBA salary equivalent is $10.833 million per season according to Atlana Journal Constitution.

Childress leaving Hawks to join Greek franchise
Restricted free agent signs $32.5 million deal with Olympiakos of Greece
Childress, whose net pay from Olympiakos will be $20 million
That means that Klieza would have to make $9.9125 million per season in the NBA to equal the Olympiacos contract. Since Childress' $20 million net = a $32.5 million gross NBA contract, then Klieza's $12.2 million net contract = a $19.825 million NBA contract.
So it's not like 6 million a year, it's like 10 a million a year in the NBA.
Spurs, Lakers, Celts, Cavs, Mavs, Magic all added pieces this offseason...the Nuggets have stood idly by and have only lost players. Jones, Hunter and now Kleiza...and I still don't get the point of the Hunter trade.
I love Melo and Billups and practically that whole team. I rooted for them in the playoffs and it's just irritating how they probably won't meet their expectations this upcoming season.
We got Affalo ..don't act like Jones is irreplaceable. And Hunter are you kidding me? He never even played a game last year. So don't really know how your counting that as a "loss".
LK will make the bench thinner but I imagine will pick someone to fill in some minutes. I wouldn't mind him coming back but him leaving isn't that big of a deal.
Wish him luck over in Europe tho.
I think this is a significant loss for the Nuggets, and the league.

I am Lithuanian myself and I still have 2 say. Kleiza is weak defensively. Can't penetrate well. On the other hand he is good shooter and passer. Still not worth the money Olimpiacos paying 4 him imo.
As for "significant loss" as you stated m8. That's ridiculous.
kleiza hit some big 3s when the nuggs needed it last playoffs. big loss imo
This.

dont forget we lost petro, hart and weems too! :oldlol:
you cant figure out the hunter trade? giving up a protected first to get rid of a 0 ppg, 0 rpg guy costing us over 7 mill per? yeah, thats a toughie.

agreed. its not significant at all. if europe is willing to double every players salary, then yeah...they will steal players. but paying 6 million for an nba bench player...eh...whatever.

$10 million.
$10 million.
whats 10 million?
whats 10 million?
His salary is the same as $10 million per year in the NBA, not $6 million. He's making $6 million net in Greece, not $6 million gross like an NBA contract.

Jesus. What did they see in him to give him that much??
Noooooooooooooooo
With USA losing its economic power comes the loss of NBA power.
I do agree that Europe could be better than the NBA in let's say 15 years. I'm big fan of NBA but that is rough reality.
:ohwell:

Kleiza is a terrible shooter and passer... Just look at the games an the stats.
