It is shitty. Raining right now in fact.
But we do get around 20 days a year when it is really hot and you can easily go to the beach.
However, the North Sea is very cold , so swimming is not really an option. Bad thing is, Dutch people are crazy when the weather is good, they take free days of work, they dont go to school, beach is crowded, bars are crowded, traffic is insane.

My city:

The island in Casco Bay, Maine where my family has a summer house. Our house is the 4th from the left, sitting slightly back from the frozen cove. Pic was taken in January.

^ Nice.
Here's a satellite pic of the place where I was born.
My family lives under the smoke trail.

EDIT: it's little islands
http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/the-world-islands-dubai

Yeah it is or it seems so at first glance...
Reading about it tonight... Lot's of problems I guess, 300 islands and only two have been developed and one of those is the original model home... They've had some problems with erosion, projects being stopped and started... great idea...
They look cool but why would anyone want to live on one of those islands? It would be a major pain in the ass just to leave the house. Doing simple things like buying groceries and such would be a monster hassle. No street for kids to play in, etc
Once the initial beauty and view gets old you would realize that you're trapped on a little island lol

I'm guessing they get groceries delivered and shit like that. If you live on one of those islands you prob have like a private chef handpicking berries to put on your morning oatmeal. I'm sure it's pretty easy to just hop on a small boat or jetski and get to some central community area.

Yeah I guess anyone who owes a home on one of those islands likely has other homes and not just that one...that would probably be a weekend home.

The house I posted above is on an island about a half mile out in the bay. Getting groceries involves a boat, car, and a lot of lugging. What sucks is going to all that effort and then realizing you forgot something. :oldlol: Luckily the local marina sells live lobsters.

looks awesome, I'm jelly. I'm sure it's really great during the summer as well.
Is there any fishing that can be done from the shore?

You can catch flounder and cod from the the float/boat landing. A little ways out by boat and you can catch striped bass, Spanish mackerel and bluefish.
