 As an Irish Catholic i find that offensive. You wonder why people genralise and assume all Nothern Irish Catholic's (such as my family) are IRA?
Because of people like you.

:lol truf It's quite annoying here in NYC... all these fake Italians that don't even know the language and have never even been there.
Chillax man. I was banking on the fact that most of these peeps are unaware that I was referring to the Irish Republican Army... Since you seem so caught up in it, peace be unto you.
Fall guy where are you from?
for why?
:confusedshrug:
I hardly see how its relevant at this point in time.
there's this gay guy from Belfast on here named Aiden.
And Catzhernandez is one off those faggy Americans who like to brag about being Irish like it makes them cooler.
IRA pride?? That is the same as saying Hamas pride you damn terrorist. I'm guessing you're not really Irish from Ireland as a real Irish dude wouldn't go around saying retarded phrases like IRA pride, and yes everyone knows you were talking about the Irish Republican Army, are you aware of the many atrocities and acts of terrorism the IRA has taken part in in the past 30 years? And how many innocents they killed?

For middle eastern terrorists they fall back and say its a holy war. Im just supporting a close cousin who was affiliated with said group at the cost of his life. And yes in fact, im a first generation american. So you are indeed correct that I have no claim to my home country and that im simply assimilated into the damn melting pot known as America.
Now lets not kid ourselves, America is the BEST place to live and work and worship and everybody (yep, me too... the "damn terrorist) knows it.
and yes everyone knows you were talking about the Irish Republican Army, are you aware of the many atrocities and acts of terrorism the IRA has taken part in in the past 30 years? And how many innocents they killed?
In short, yes.
haha... this is actually rather funny. Im enjoying myself here at the expense of my "e-rep"... now supposing that the Feds dont come and bust my door down later tonight because they are smart enough to know when sombody is just mentioning a terrorist group in order to poke fun at general racial/ethnic "pride" then I should be good.

Still hurting?
naw your moms on ISH, i posted her on the ex-girlfriend thread..
There's a guy at my work from Ireland. He said the city he lived in is/was known as "Stab City" since so many people were victims of stabbings there.

You have to be retarded not to know what the IRA is.
Also, whats so special about being Irish? They've been kicked around by the British for hundred of years, and had one of the most infamous famines strike their whole nation. They've had terrible luck for a supposedly "lucky" nationality, unless the "luck" is ironic.
On that note, I have an irish name. But I'm taiwanese.
There are some drunken bastard in this board too...you're not alone.

Kicked around by the British for hundreds of years? The irish people constantly fought for their own free nation which had been torn from them with the Act of Union.
Despite Cromwell and others, the Irish's peoples courage and determination brought the British to their knees.

Brought Britain to their knees? When did that happen?

When did Ireland ever bring England to it's knee's, Ireland's history involves getting it's ass kicked by England, England sending a bunch of Irish as slaves to Barbados to pick tobacco, and then England feeling bad for Ireland and letting them become their own nation. All Ireland did was cheaply and cowardly bomb English civillians. Ireland never brough England to it's knees bozo. England constantly had Ireland on it's knees treated Ireland like it's ***** then got bored and let the Irish run free. Ireland sucks balls compared to England.

I take great offence at that. You are cleary a very ignorant person.
The British government admitted in 2007 that it could not defeat the IRA. The IRA brought about the British Armies biggest single losses since 1959 in Iran.
And cowardly? Fighting for what you beleive in?
I'll tell you what cowardly, the B-Specials and Ulster Defence AND the British Army killing innocent Catholic women and children because they couldn't get to the IRA. Or how about murdering people as they bury those who fought fo their freedom? Or attacking towns after the IRA agree to put Arms down?
Rough approximations suggest 60% of all IRA victims were British Amry ect.
The British Army only killed around 20 IRA officers. 20. That's it.
I'm not condoning the IRA in any way, killing innocent people is never right. But they were clearly fighting for what was right. The Northern Irish Catholic's were being opressed. They fought back, firstly only attacking the military. But then the British Army got annoyed because they couldn't beat the IRA (as they later admitted) and started killing women and children. Only then did the IRA respond with it's civillian campaign.
The IRA is widely considered as one of the most sucessfull and effiecent guerilla army's ever. Hardly cheap or cowardly IMO.
That's just my opinion, i'm sorry if i've offended anyone but you just struck a nerve, with me being a Catholic and having see the consequences of it all.
Hey look at me, my great-grandmother's roommate's nephew immigrated here from Ireland so I love Dropkick Murphy's and Flogging Molly!! I'm so fucking Irish!! If you're born in America, you're an American. If you're born in Ireland, you're Irish. That's how it works. Maybe if you're a first generation immigrant you can claim something, but if not, STFU.

England possessed one of the greatest empires the world has ever known, producing hundreds of the world's most famous people and influencing the development of culture, economics and warfare.
Ireland.... not so much.

Well yes obviously. There's no comparison
I have irish roots...but I dont live in Ireland...
Although I think Ive seen quite a few people whose locations are Ireland, so Im sure you are not alone!
Well yes obviously. There's no comparison
England has Winston Churchill, David Bowie and John Lennon
Ireland has Eamon de Valera, Bono and Shane MacGowan:lol
and dude above me, I consider bombing tubes and city squares cowardly.
IRA Chief-of-Staff Richard Mulcahy bemoaned the fact that they had not been able to drive the British "out of anything bigger than a fairly good size police barracks
to be fair to Ireland, Baileys is alright, and Pogues are a great band

So friggin' true.
Lived in a town where approximately 64-75% possessed the sangre of de Ireland or of the boot. Ireland is literally a joke in respect to the rest of the world, and few people carry on Italy's glorious Roman days or the ways of the Sicilian. Lay off.. let the Slavic folks, the Arabians, the Africans, Haitans (gangsta revolt), the Asians hit you up with a little bit of braggery.

I'd take Italy over these cultures (Africa really is a huge generalization) most any day. Italy has contributed much more to the world's culture via its artists, and their food is better. Arabic culture, if we include the Muslim Empires of old have a lot ot be proud about, and so do Asians (both types, South and East).

I dig your overall historical perspective, but the basis of my reference I'm referring to are the d!ckwads known as Guidos who tear apart their Italian "culture." I live around CT and visit Long Island, NJ real often, so you can say my frustration is a skewer like a Kabob.

Yea, I know what you're talking about. :D This can be said about most ___-americans. Asian-americans who don't know anything about their culture but who talk about it a lot also annoy me.
I'm 1/4 scottish irish...

Ireland is actually one of the richer EU countries, probably in the top 5. Get you facts straight homie!
