I'm pretty sure Lakas is right and you are wrong. Unless you're not talking about the same thing? Where did you get this info?
Re: 2009 European basketball championship (Eurobasket) discussion
It was Spanoulis the point guard of the first team. Navarro could play as 1, but it wasnt his role in this championship (or in others), so it has no sense he was in this position in the Eurobasket's first team.
IMO in this Eurobasket, once Spain awakes, there was no oportunities for the rest of teams. They dominated the play-offs fair and square.

Well I assure you that is not the team. The team I posted is correct and there is no 2nd or 3rd team, just a first team.

Gasol Named EuroBasket 2009 MVP Presented By Tissot
20 September 2009
By Simon Wilkinson
Spain's Pau Gasol was selected as the Most Valuable Player and named to the All-Tournament team of EuroBasket 2009 presented by Tissot, the official timekeeper of Europe's premier basketball competition.
Gasol led his team to their first ever European men's title with 18 points 11 rebounds and three blocks in the 85-63 win over Serbia.
After losing in the championship game six times - most recently at home in 2007 - Spain finally broke through, thanks in large part to Gasol, who was the tournament's leading scorer with 18.6 points per contest while also grabbing 8.3 rebounds (2nd best) and blocking 2.2 shots per game (1st).
The star center headed the EuroBasket 2009 All-Tourament Team, which also featured his teammate Rudy Fernandez, who averaged 13.6 points and led all players with 2.1 steals per game.
The rest of the All-Tournament Team was rounded out by Serbia guard Milos Teodosic, Slovenian big man Erazem Lorbek and Greek guard Vasileios Spanoulis.
And at the end of the gold medal game on TV the team was announced and all the players were given an award and a watch. I watched myself and that was definitely the team. And as I said, there is no 2nd or 3rd team.

I think that was just an editor's picks.
Re: 2009 European basketball championship (Eurobasket) discussion
The real All Tournment team is:
PG - Milos Teodosic (Serbia)
SG - Vasileios Spanoulis (Greece)
SF - Rudy Fernandez (Spain)
PF - Erazem Lorbek (Slovenia)
C - Paul Gasol (Spain, also MVP)
Now you can change the positions between Teodisc and Spanoulis, Lorbek and Gasol.
Re: 2009 European basketball championship (Eurobasket) discussion
First of all. The referees on the Tournament were soo bad. The "big teams" like Greece and Spain are privileged!!! Look the last game for 3rd place. The "baby Shaq" was doing everything, and he got just 2 or 3 fouls. Spain, was playing really good from quaterfinal. That`s true, and nobody couldn`t stop them, but anyway, the system on Eurobasket is very unfair, France didn`t lost just 1 game on the Tournament, and got just the 5th place. Turkey lost just 1 game `till quaterfinal, they were just 8th at the end.
FIBA please change approach!!!
Re: 2009 European basketball championship (Eurobasket) discussion
You're right for the referees, they were so bad. They didn't respect nba players they don't know. France was mistreat by referees during the whole tournament. But they lost again Spain, because Spain is better team
