Charlie Villanueva
Jimmer.
Okay he's not a scrub but not as good as he was in college
Depends on how you define an NBA scrub. Laettner was actually pretty solid NB player for awhile. He averaged 17-8-3 his first six seasons in the league, and I believe even made an All-Star team. Averaged 18-9-3-1-1 as a rookie, too.
Michael Beasley
Shane Battier
Adam Morrison

I'll start
Christian Laettner
He wasn't a scrub he just had glass knees. A scrub would be J.J Redick.
Brian Cook.
Well not college but in high school, Kendrick Perkins averaged 28 points, 16 rebs, and 8 blocks per game....
While other schools also had examples, it seems as if several former Duke stars' games weren't able to translate to the NBA.

good argument, bad example
Laetner was not on scrub level.
Sean May
Johnny Flynn

Yeah, ummm....I'm guessing almost every single player in the NBA had sick high school stats.
He wasn't a scrub he just had glass knees. A scrub would be J.J Redick.
Redick's been good the past 3 or 4 years. Far from scrub status.
Sean May
Johnny Flynn
Great examples.
A few more from UNC and Syracuse
Rashad McCant
Wesley Johnson
Hakim Warrick
90% or more of NBA players were stars in college though.
Basically the list of college to NBA busts.
There's a pretty good list of them in here:

Um...pretty much even the last man off the bench on an NBA team was a star in college. Only the best of the best even MAKE it to the NBA.
Only exceptions are probably some 7 footers with decent size and athleticism that some NBA team drafted on pure potential.
90% or more of NBA players were stars in college though.
Exactly.
A better question would be what NBA players weren't stars in college.
Joel Anthony Averaged 5/4 in his last year at UNLV
Jimmer.

No, hes definitely a scrub.
He wasn't a scrub he just had glass knees. A scrub would be J.J Redick.
JJ is not a scrub
Michael Beasley
Shane Battier
:wtf: too underrated
wes johnson
some of ya'll have some high standard for scrubs. no rotational player in the nba is a scrub. scrub is players 11-15 or not on a nba roster. we are all scrubs.
I'll start
Charlie Villanueva
Charlie V is far from a star, but is also far from being a scrub
Chris Singleton has been a bit of a scrub since he came in I expected him to be a beast on defense like he was in college.
Joe Alexander: after a promising rookie season he completely vanished of the face of the earth.
Sean May
Johnny Flynn
Holy shit. What happened to him? He placed in the top ten in the rookie ladder too...
Holy shit. What happened to him? He placed in the top ten in the rookie ladder too...
I think it all started when he got injured. Went to D-League to rehab, but never came back. Not sure, though.
Ed O'Bannon.
Not a scrub but definitely disappointing.
Holy shit. What happened to him? He placed in the top ten in the rookie ladder too...
He's playing here in Australia for the Melbourne Tigers
I think it all started when he got injured. Went to D-League to rehab, but never came back. Not sure, though.
Flynn plays for my hometown team the Melbourne Tigers.
Damn. Dogg too quick for me.

Yeah, I know he plays in Australia but I've always been curious on how he ended up there.
bobby hurley
it's only scrub worthy if you don't live up to the hype
Adam Morrison
Shelden Williams.(didn't he get his jersey retired even before he finished at Duke?)
^ came here to say Shelden. Yea his #23 was retired
^ came here to say Shelden. Yea his #23 was retired
One of his teammates Chris Duhon was also a guy you could add to the list
One of his teammates Chris Duhon was also a guy you could add to the list
Looks like there are quite a few of these types of players from Duke
Since we are on the Duke train, remember William Avery?
I don't remember if he was a star at Duke or not....but this guy was brash enough to declare for the draft in 1999. he came in at the same time as Brand, Battier, and Burgess.
He got drafted mid 1st round by the T Wolves then after his rookie 3 year contract ran out, no one signed him lol...
And let's not be entire anti Duke only here.
Tyler Hansbrough had his jersey retired and while I don't think he is that much of a scrub, UNC, Duke, and UConn players tend to be overrated and get nepotistic treatment due to their prestigious college background.
