I hope they use johnny knoxville sparingly. It's hard to have a movie be bad ass when he's in it joking around.

As much as I love Arnold and all his movies in the past, I think he's too old to be doing action movies and make it believable. It kind of reminds me of when Clint Eastwood was doing action movies and it comes off as comical because here you have an old dude running around and kicking people's ass half his age.

Looks like there are a lot of supporting casts and characters in this movie because Arnold cannot carry a movie on his own anymore.

Well he's a year younger than Stallone and he's pretty easy to take seriously with his action movies still like that Rambo movie he did a couple years ago and those Expendable movies. He also keeps himself in better shape than men half his age though. I dunno what kind of shape Arnold is in these days. One key is to amp up the violence like in Rambo 4: Ripping out throats, chopping off heads and blowing a hundred fools away, or like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino, he was a bad ass and he was 79 in that movie and that was all attitude, but he's also a much better actor than Arnold is. Both Stallone and Eastwood are, so Arnold kind of needs the physique to be taken seriously.

Agreed on the Clint/Stallone stuff. The reason I think this movie could work is that they don't seem to be ignoring Arnold's age and I have faith in the director. I'm hoping that given a year or so, Arnold has hit the gym a bunch and returns to looking more like a bad ass like Stallone. The difference is Stallone still uses steroids to get in shape, while Arnold has become very anti-steroids, so he'll never look like Stallone looks ever again.

No he doesn't. He uses HGH and kills himself in the gym. Whatever he did in the past, Stallone doesn't use steroids now. Most medical professionals recommend that men over 40 or 50 start using HGH regularly. Probably not the doses Stallone was using during the Rocky Balboa and Rambo 4 days, but at least in some dosage. You can tell he doesn't use as much now as his face isn't bloated anymore and he's much cutter now than he was in those two movies. In the Expendables 1 he looked much more normal and was lean as opposed to full of bulk muscle.

Steroids, HGH.... same difference to me.

From 2007, between the releases of the newest Rocky and Rambo movies:

According to Australian authorities, the 60-year-old action star, who did not appear in court, was caught at Sydney Airport with several vials of a steroid known as hGH (human growth hormone), during a random baggage check.
