-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT (GANG RELATED)!
Hope you're okay Carl.
What a ****ty thing to do.
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT (GANG RELATED)!
With the current title it looks like Carl Landry was shot because he's gangrelated. From what I hear it's a stray bullet.
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT (GANG RELATED)!
People can't even go get fast food without worrying about some dumbass on a power trip shooting stuff up.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK
Wow if he is really out for the season, that is probally it for the Rockets. A couple of thugs can ruin a team's season that quick

It was a rumour, it's not clear yet about how long he will be gone. It should be mentioned that he was very lucky, according to some sources it was multipleshot's the person fired towards Carl but only one hit him, it could have ended VERY bad.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK
:banghead: Stupid people nowadays...
Get well Carl
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK

Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK
Damn, couldn't happen to a better guy. At least he'll be able to watch the Boilers continue the resurrection of the program.
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK
Carl Landry did the same thing Plaxico Burress did... He was just a better liar than Plaxico.
If you accidently shoot yourself in the leg, this is the story to use.

That was my first thought too, Carl seems to be a very humble and down-to-earth guy and I've had the opportunity to meet him once when I was in Houston with basketballteam, we went to some Rocket-event and Carl seemed to be a very nice guy. At least I'm glad he's ok and he sure thing he had some luck that the other bullets missed him, this could have gone a hell alot worse then it did.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT but OK
damn. rox cant buy any luck this year... tmac, yao, and now carl

Yes, because YOU would know what happened. I'm sure, if he shot himself in the leg, they would have found out about it by using angles.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
That's terrible.
But I'm glad he's ok.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
I got shot in the leg before. Sh*t hurts like f*ck once you realize what just happened.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Sportscenter said he'll miss 1-2 weeks

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
That really sucks. Glad to hear he's OK. Should only miss a week or 2.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Wow, can you say street cred? How many other NBA players can say they've been shot? How many rap songs will reference this? Yeah, probably none.
Glad he only suffered a flesh wound to his leg, and has been released from hospital. If the bullet had been a couple inches in another direction and Carl's career, or life, could have been tragically ended. Who just randomly opens fire on another car at a fast food joint? People are ****ing crazy.

You're probably right about that.
I can never tell when anybody is being serious or joking, especially on InsideHoops. You never know.
Sorry about that anywho.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Just heard it on 610 Houston.
Shot in calf. Random violence. 1:30AM just got back from NO. Going to get food. Car was side-swiped. Whoever was in other car, fired shots. Treated and released already. Shouldn't miss much time.

see that doesnt really sound random. who the **** starts shooting after a traffic accident. Where in houston was he?
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
so, from the OP, you said he was sideswiped and then shot at. but your link says "Houston police said two men in a vehicle behind Landry's opened fire. Landry exited his vehicle to see what was happening and was wounded in the lower leg."
Nothing about an accident. I love that "Landry exited his vehicle to see what was happening". sure, not to get the **** out of there. Was he at a drivethrough? Cant think of whats at 3000 leeland.
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Wow, this team can't stay healthy. I mean seriously, one of our players gets shot?!? This team can't catch a break.
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Ok so I was just about to post a thread about this but then I saw this one. So yea, I feel bad for him, he's gonna be out for 1-2 weeks and HPD are saying it was a drive by shooting, somebody hit his car and he got out to look at the damage, and then some thugs drove by slowly and shot him. But yea, dang I feel bad, hope he's good and get well bro! I hope they catch the dumbasses who shot him!
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
thanks for the clear story. seems odd that some "random" people would bother driving by an accident and shooting landry. wonder if there is more to it. anyways, sucks for houston and for him.

You should change your post. I don't think thats how it happened. The whole "Car swiped" or whatever. Plus, it was being reported that it happened around 4AM.

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
damn *******
they should face carl landry man to man minus the guns... he'll *** them up!!
-
Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
Nevermind, ESPN mentioned he was side swiped, went to look at the damage, car came back and fired 2 shots, one hitting his leg.

Carl Landry Shot in the leg? wtf?
HOUSTON (AP)—Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry was shot in the left leg early Tuesday while driving near his home.
The injury was minor, and the team said Landry was treated at a hospital and released. The Rockets said they expected Landry to return to action in one to three weeks.
The shooting occurred about 4 a.m., a few hours after the Rockets returned from a game at New Orleans. Landry drove home after the team arrived about 12:30 a.m.
Houston police said a car with two occupants hit Landry’s vehicle from behind. Police said Landry was shot when he got out to inspect the damage, and the other vehicle left the scene. The Rockets also said Landry dislocated a finger on his left hand in the incident.
The 6-foot-9 Landry has become a valuable player off the bench for the Rockets, averaging 9.3 points and five rebounds in his second NBA season. He had 12 points and six rebounds in Monday’s 95-84 win that kept Houston in third place in the Western Conference standings.
“We are very thankful and relieved that Carl’s injuries were relatively minor and that he is doing well,” the Rockets said in a statement. “We are in the process of working with authorities to gather more information.”
Landry was drafted by Seattle in the second round in 2007, then traded to Houston for a future second-round pick and cash. He averaged eight points and 4.9 rebounds in 2007-08. In Game 3 of a first-round series against Utah, Landry blocked Deron Williams’ layup try with 3.4 seconds left to preserve Houston’s 94-92 victory.
so, if the plane came in at 12:30, and the shooting happend at 4, wtf was he doing in that time?

Re: Carl Landry SHOT in leg but OK
When the Houston coach told Landry he needs to look for his shot more, I think Landry misunderstood him.
Oh relax, it's a joke. He's ok.
