Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
Where do you guys stand on this issue.
I'm usually good with my money and I make pretty decent money (50k a year. I'm only 22 and still in school). As of late; I've been having a lot of unexpected expenses these last few months.
I've been budgeting and putting things on credit cards and as of late it's just getting harder and harder. It's difficult and my girl just received like $5,000 from her mom as a gift. She has money.
I tried asking her how she felt on each other borrowing money from one another. She said she would do it because she loves me, but she's not one to be comfortable doing so.
Now, 1. I hate borrowing money from anyone. I never do it.
2. I Have too much pride, especially to a girl, let alone my girl.
3. It would only be a couple hundred that I can pay her back the following month.
So I ask you guys,
1. How you guys feel about borrowing money from people ? (And to girls, and from your girlfriend)
2. Any advice?
Or maybe I can just sell some drugs for 2 weeks make a couple notes and be straight.(wasnt really serious about the last part. Lol)
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
what is your line of work?
it's totally cool with me and my friends and girlfriend
we mutually understand that my word is worth more than the money
I guess pride is a good thing in this case

I work for a laboratory in a hospital. I'm graduating this may 2013, getting my BS but I'm going to law school after graduating so I'm still at this job for the near future

Yeah
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
If it makes your girlfriend uncomfortable... then don't borrow the money.
You need to make your girlfriend feel as comfortable as possible... at all times... Day & Night.

Good advice my boy.
Maybe she just needs to stop letting me pay all the time we go out. Lol
That Michael korrs bag I bought her for christmas wasn't cheap ether.
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
I'd borrow. People are too sensitive when it comes to money. As long as you establish a time frame that you KNOW you can pay it back in (before you borrow it) you will be OK. If you say you can get it back to her within a week and you can't then things might get testy.
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
long as you pay her back aint nothing wrong , dont be a bum boyfriend and keep taking without giving though
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
Pawn something of value. If you know you're good for it then there's nothing to worry about
Re: Borrowing money from your girlfriend..
You're 22 and making 50 k, so my first question is what your expenses are? Are you buying things you really don't need and getting in over your head?

yea, thats what was thinking. I know plenty of people who make much less and are saddled with huge college loan debt that suck up damn near half their pay each month.
how is the OP hard up for cash when he already makes more than the average American?

In a way.
I have a car note. So add the Insurance and boom.
Problem is that all these unexpected expenses popped up. Like a very close family member passing and having to nearly empty out my savings to help pay for all funeral, coffin, services etc.
And add that school isn't cheap, and you gotta live man. Food and gas, etc.
And I didn't plan on having a kid, the bitch lied to me, and I was one of those dudes that got caught up. Shit happens but I love my son and wouldn't change him for the world. He's a beautiful baby boy and it ain't his fault.
So I'm lucky to have such a wonderful boy.
That being said; I've had other expenses that just kept randomly popping up.
Thing is; I'm not like struggling to eat or anything.
I just don't have any real debt. I'm great at paying everything on time but these last few months, especially with the holidays and my sons birthday coming up, I've incurred a lot more expensive a than I saw coming.
But it's all good. After these next two months I'll bounce back. It's just in the time being that I need a couple hundred to pay off a few bills next month. That's all. Then I'll be back on my feet.
