MJ playoff points record is going to be shattered
Don't you see it guys ? The Lakers are going to play 28 games those playoff. Kobe is currently averaging 31.4 PPG. But for the sake of the discussion let's round it out to 30 PPG. 24x30=840 Points.
Kobe currently has 5393 Points scored in the PO (before the PO started apparently). MJ has 5987 Points. 5987 - 5393 = 594 Points.
In other words, with those measly 840 points, Kobe will have scored 6233 points.

Record Shattered.
Or if my numbers are already up to date, that's 156 (44+43+38+31) less points, thus scoring 6077 points. Record shattered.
5,436 according to Deuce. That's 551 points left for him to pass MJ. Or 19 games left when Kobe will pass Jordan if averaging 30 ppg.

corrected.
Re: MJ playoff points record is going to be shattered
The modern day 7-games 1st round series is invented so that MJ all time playoffs scoring record is shattered at some point.
Greatest aspect of MJs all-time PO scoring record is he did it in '80s & '90s when players couldnt score in POs against the "jordan rules", knicks D, Heat D, Pacers D etc etc.
Kobe can score all he wants by pusing First round series to 7 games against defenseless denver & boost up his scoring ave to 31.5 ppgs.
reality is no one cares, He seriously lacks playoffs cinematic moments like GOAT has given us.
Kobe also missing POs in his peak & exiting early after 3-1 lead against Suns in prime peak yrs will cost him dearly as LBJ is on his heals ready to break all the all-time PO scoring ever gonna be set by Kobe.
Durant is heading in same direction too.

You've finally figured it all out
Re: MJ playoff points record is going to be shattered
Dude. 2 more games means nothing in the grand scheme of things. At best 20 more games in a player career. Which never happen. :oldlol:

Jordan NBA-record 33.4ppg in the playoffs....34.7ppg from 85-93. Kobe with another "longetivity" record that will be broken by Lebron James and Kevin Durant at some point.
 .......but, you can wallow around in second-rate records if you like.
Re: MJ playoff points record is going to be shattered
Dude, nobody hates on KAJ for his "longetivity" record. Why are you hating ? Plus "longitivity" is a great sign of greatness. No idea what you are on.

Re: MJ playoff points record is going to be shattered
I think he better improve his shooting efficiency
.307 FG% .333 3P% 24.3 PPG Vs OKC this season
There is good chance he will struggle in Round 2
